La Fontana is an urban oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of Belltown. As you step into the courtyard you are drawn in by the bubbling fountain and the aroma of Sicilian cuisine in the air. La Fontana has been a fixture in Belltown for over a decade. Proprietor Mario Fuenzalida’s food philosophy of utilizing the freshest ingredients prepared to order ensures that every meal is a pleasurable and memorable experience. The wine list has been specially crafted as a showcase to the food; it features quality Sicilian and Italian wines that highlight the unique flavors of La Fontana’s menu.
"This is my me and my husband's favorite restaurant. Every single thing we have ever ordered is amazing and so authentic. We found it when we were in Washington house hunting before our move from California. We went there two nights in a row because we loved it so much the first night. We have now moved from Washington and we went there on our last night because we were so sad to leave it. We have our favorite dishes. We always get the bruschetta appetizer and I always get the mushroom risotto. The tiramisu is the best I have ever had, a million times over. I would highly recommend a romantic night in this charming restaurant!"

"We had never been to this restaurant before, but decided to try on a recent visit to Seattle. The restaurant is small and quaint within a secluded courtyard which doubles as its outside seating. The menu was not overly extensive but had a nice selection of appetizers, first and second courses. Everything we tried was wonderful and the dessert just topped things off.
The wait staff was knowledgable in both food and wine. The wine recommendation was excellent. The restaurant is is moderately pricedp , but certainly was well worth the money"

"Have been here several times and it never disappoints. My husband and I love sitting outside- really feels like you are in Italy. The mushroom risotto was out of this world and the house chianti was perfect. Had the grilled eggplant appetizer- yum!"

"We have enjoyed this fine Italian restaurant for almost twenty years. Mario has lead his team of professionals to become one of Seattle's best places for a romantic evening with sumptuous epicurean delights and wonderful wines. His deserts are very unique and including peach sorbet in a real peach....
La Fontana is a must for new places to try and keep coming back."

"You will find it at this charming Bell Town treasure. I've been coming here for years and it never fails to impress. The setting is quant, the service attentive and the food delicious. I've never had the chance to enjoy the out door dining area (seems to always be raining when I decide to go), but the overall experience will surely impress."

"Upon entering La Fontana Siciliana, I found myself at home. With soft lights and music, I was able to dine comfortably. The courtyard was inviting and the staff relaxed and courteous. The other patrons were polite and behaved. My companion and I enjoyed the bruschetta for appetizers and the cannoli for dessert. I recommend the lamb with figs with their house cabernet sauvignon wine. I plan on coming back very soon."

"La Fontana Siciliana is the best Italian food in Seattle. And maybe anywhere. The service is amazing, and on weekends they've got a lovely woman playing piano. We've seriously never had a sub-par meal there."

"Ive eaten here twice and had delicious, interesting, FRESH food. Where do they get those delicious strawberries? Understatedly elegant yet attentive service, everything unpretentious yet just right."

"La Fontana was recommended to me by a friend, so we decided to try it for my birthday. Having spent a lot of time in the Northeast, I've become a bit of an Italian food snob <grin>. Although there are some very good Italian restaurants on the west coast (I recall one in L.A., several in San Francisco, of course, and a couple in Seattle), La Fontana has the best Italian food west of New Jersey (I'd say west of the Hudson, but there are some pretty fine Italian eateries in New Jersey, needless to say).
The service is impeccable; the food, out of this world. Salads were dressed lightly to perfection; pasta and risotto were ideal, and the garlic bread perhaps the best I've ever had. This is our new go-to place for good Italian food."

"Your restaurant reminded me of little Italian cafe. The courtyard created a romantic atmosphere with the flowers and lamps. My husband and I enjoyed relaxing and eating our delicious meals. We ordered the Risotto Marsala and Pollo Marsala which are regional specialities of Scilily. Your staff was pleasant and helpful - not too intrusive and very accommodating."

"This is a great restaurant with a definite European feel. The food is good, but not great. The service is lovely and so is the ambiance. I will definitely go back with the intent to try something new. I wasn't as courageous as I would have wanted to be with my food choices, however, I am sensing that other entree choices will be wonderful."

"We had a lovely evening. The food was delicious; described well in advance by the solicitous, but not overly attentive, waiter. Portions are modest, so ordering an appetizer/salad, as we did, was nice. As was a shared dessert. The chef's choice red wine was good. All-in-all, very nice. We recommend and will go again."

"This restaurant is very expensive--about 50% more than similar Italian restaurants. Pasta dishes in the upper 20s and entrees in the 30s. This is not reflected on the menu on their web site, which shows prices that are more reasonable. So okay, what about the food? Well, it's okay, but nothing to rave about. I had a special of the day: chicken saltimbocca. Nice dish, but it didn't know my socks off (the prosciutto was laid on after the cooking, not my idea of saltimbocca style).
Service was very good, and friendly.
Based on the prices, I would not recommend this restaurant. If the food was phenomenal, perhaps, but it wasn't. IMHO the price/value ratio is way off."

"The owner was at the restaurant when we were there and he was extremely helpful with our food and wine selections. There are two dining areas so if you want to sit closer to the piano (at which someone was playing live music), request to be seated in the back. If you want a quieter dining experience, the front is better. We had a great time and will definitely go back."

"This was our second visit to the La Fontana. Both times the food has been exceptional. This visit we had the Baked Italian bread with a garlic and olive oil topping and Shared the special salad of the night which had 18 years old balsamic vinegar drizzled over it. Both were superb. My wife had the Agnello fichi & Marsala. The lamb was perfectly cooked and the figs were a perfect complement. I had the Cannelloni di Vitello, served with a tricolor sauce it was visually striking and quite tasty. We finished up with Coffee (they have very good coffee) and dessert. I had their very yummy cheesecake, not overly sweet and very soft so as to melt in your mouth.
I highly recommend a visit."

"I forgot how good La Fontana was and I am thrilled to have had my memory refreshed. Our party of six ordered a variety of meals and everyone raved about the food. The service was prompt but not oppressive and the wine was perfectly matched. We spent almost three hours eating and chatting. Can't wait to come back."

"Joined 2 friends for a 6:00 reservation. The place was pretty empty. Strangely the next table in was seated right next to us - perhaps the street facing windows are considered preferential. Eggplant, basil and mozzarella appetizer was great (although a bit overpriced). The wine list had a nice selection from moderately priced to pretty expensive. The atomosphere had an Italian/homey charm. The waiter was very friendly and helpful - we were teased by the 2 large pepper grinders sitting next to us but were never offered any fresh ground pepper. Overall a very nice place with a great menu. We'll be back."

"I do like the authenticity of the restaurant. They do make homemade pasta. However, be aware of any of the specials. They tasted pretty good, but because they are specials, they really jack the price up. When announced, the prices were not given and I chose not to ask, which is my own fault. However, be prepared to be gouged if you go this route. The regular salads are 8-9 and their special one was 15. The special pasta dish was considerably higher priced too. As far as the tiramisu goes, it was nothing to rave about."

"ottimo! This is the real deal. The owner and his staff patiently and carefully see to it that you experience the best they have to offer. The flavors of Sicily are enjoyed in a calm, intimate setting. You will feel yourself to be in a neighborhood gem enjoying a tradition of slow food from one region of Italy. Evenings at table to be remembered."
