Olympic Provisions Northwest is the convivial west-side answer to our intimate Southeast location. Marked by a string of patio lights on an otherwise industrial stretch of NW Thurman, OPNW offers a menu of lovely rustic European-inspired fare in a warm, windowed setting, accentuated by our antique French rotisserie.
Thomas Keller-trained Colin Stafford comes to Olympic Provisions Northwest after serving as the Sous Chef for Alex Yoder at our southeast location since March of 2011. It was Stafford’s stint at Bouchon, the sister of Thomas Keller’s legendary restaurant French Laundry, where Stafford learned the meticulousness and attention to detail that instilled in him to make every dish the best he possibly can.
Come in to OPNW for happy hour and warm yourself with a few of our craft cocktails. You’ll find yourself staying for dinner amongst a friendly crowd, where you might hear the strains of old funk and soul mixed with blues and local bands.
"This is the second time we have been to Olympic Provisions. The second was as good as the first. We had the three course meal and it was wonderful. Flavors were spot on. The dessert plate served on a small wooden tray was exceptional."

"Olympic Provisions is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. The food is excellent along with the service. This NW location is smaller than the SE location, but provides an intimate atmosphere. Highly recommended!"

"This is a wonderful place to get cured meats; my Bratwurst was the best ever. The potato salad was heavy but full of flavor; it could be a delicious meal in itself. The servers are attentive; the atmosphere is very casual, deli like. The wine list is extensive and fairly expensive. The prime rib looked fabulous."

"Between the four of us, we had the salmon, the meatballs and the pasta. All of it was mouth watering. The service was excellent. It was a little loud (so would not be your quiet romantic evening place) , but was perfect for the energy of our group."

"If you love meat or just good food, this is the place you should check out. Tucked in the corner of NW 17th and Thurman, but the food is tasty and vibe is urban hip."

"'Community table seating' understood, as we were prepped via watching a Portlandia skit, but, aren't wild about the concept, and wasn't really req'd here (they have the space to set up separate tables. Ravioli, too 'plain', needs a redo. Wine list very euro / limited. Please expand to include Walla Walla and Alexander Valley CA wines. They're very affordable, and blow away euro and Argetinian wines. Guys... Its so easy. Overall, love the neighborhood, great setting, but more approachable dishes and wines please. Keep a hopeful watch."

"We ordered the Spanish Board & fell in love with the Spanish ham, fresh chorizo, and Majorerra cheese. Of course the Charcuterie was amazing; it's what they do, but you would be remissed if you didn't try an entree. The roast pork loin with crispy potatoes, cornichons and mustard sauce was excellent."

"Though many of the tables are communal, we sat at a table for two. The restaurant is small and the beautiful meat counter and cooking area are visible from most tables. We were there early so it was not noisy but I would imagine, with all of the hard surfaces, when they are really busy, it could get very noisy. Our server was very knowledgeable, checking on cocktail ingredients for us and even bringing us a taste of the components. Dinner was wonderful. Each item on the Spanish board was delicious--with 4 different meats, a cheese almonds and roasted peppers and most generous. Butter lettuce salad was beautiful, fresh and lightly but flavorfully dressed. Mussels were perfectly prepared in a rich and flavorful broth. A great evening."

"I grew up in an Italian deli, this place was a trip down memory lane (or flavors more like it). We ordered the "Whole Pig board", a board of Idiazabal (Spanish sheep cheese). As a side we had "Mixed Greens" (fines herbes, shallot, aged goat cheese, red wine vinaigrette). Everything was delish. I was impressed by their wine selection. The mixed drinks looked interesting as well. For dessert we had the "Chocolate Ménage a Trois" (A nut brittle, a flour less dark chocolate cake and my favorite a white chocolate custard with crushed cocoa nibs on top). The custard had nutmeg and other spices and it was super velvety. I accompanied it with a glass of Kopke Colheita Port 1989 (tasted like walnuts). Will definitely go back."

"This was our third visit within a few months span, and the food and service have been outstanding each visit. We are from Cincinnati (aka. Porkopolis), and have been out here about 2 years. We hadn't found a bratwurst that came close to a Cincy variety until we ate here. Yummy! A definite rival! All the sausages we've tried here have been great. We'll be back, no doubt!!"

"We ended up not staying. I made a reservation for a table for two on Open Table, and when we arrived we were offered two seats at a large table where a large group were already eating, or two seats at a bar. Since there was no warning in the description on their web site or Open Table that was very poor form, and ruined our evening. We scrambled on a Saturday night to find somewhere else where we could eat and talk in private. We won't be back."

"The staff was very welcoming, and even remembered from my reservation request that we were celebrating a birthday. The charcuterie was delicious (the dessert was too!)! The ambience feels as if you're sitting right with the chefs -- it's very intimate and lovely for a date or gathering with friends. Thanks for a great evening!"
