“Hokkaido” is the name of the second largest Island located at the north end of Japan. That’s where our restaurant’s name originated from. We are dedicated to serve the best sushi and Hibachi steaks in the Oakbrook area. "The overall look/decor of the restaurant was poorly done. The smokeless hibachi grill was probably the best part. The waitress you could barely understand. The food was cooked in way too much oil and butter. The cost was not worth the quality of food."

"Food was very good. Enjoyed the noodles. Although food gets cooked in front of you,it does seem to come to you in shifts. Noodles ,veggies, shrimp. It was good. Another person ordered chicken & chef used same utensils for everything. We survived but not sure about handling raw chicken with same utensils. I would return."

"The entire experience at Hokkaido is simply wonderful! Celebrated our daughter's graduation here with family. It was a familiar experience for some but the chef and wait staff made it fun for all. The food is incredibly delicious and the decor is contemporary yet quaint. Looking for a wonderful dining experience? Hokkaido is the place (request to sit at the grill). Enjoy!"

"I went to Hokkaido with my girlfriend and father, and we had a great time enjoying the hibachi. We had steak, chicken, and shrimp entrees, all of them being delicious. The steak was cooked exactly as asked (medium rare), the shrimp was perfect, and the chicken had an amazing sauce coating it. The drinks were half off Monday thru Thursday, which was fantastic. The chef was entertaining, and overall the experience was great. Also, the fried rice...wow. I'm not a huge rice fan, but this rice is absolutely fantastic."

"We went to celebrate a birthday in our family. We love hibachi style dining. It was a bit different than we are acustomed to. We normally dine at Domo 77. It was not a perfect dining experience, but we also went on the night of a snow storm so it was us 4 and the employees. Didn't feel the energy that I am sure it normally has. We felt like we were dining in a closed restaurant. I would definately give it another try. Oakbrook Terrace is quite a bit closer to us than Wheaton.
We wished they would offer the shrimp dinner as hibachi style, garlic (with the bread crumbs,garlic and butter), or golden with the egg yolk topping. They only make their shrimp one way and they serve it whole instead of cut up. Like I said, just different."

"My wife and I are fans of teppanyaki or hibachi as it was referred to here, so we decided to check out our town’s newest offering. The miso was just warm, not hot as it typically is. The ginger sauce was slightly thicker, with noticeably more bits of ginger. The other sauce was somewhat sweet and didn’t have much horseradish at all. The shrimp appetizer was two whole shrimps, rather than being cut into halves. The white rice was tasty and sticky enough to easily eat with chopsticks. My wife liked her shrimp and lobster, and I enjoyed the filet mignon. The vegetables also included green beans, which was an interesting change of pace. "I had a nice time at Hokkaido Sushi Hibachi. It is a new restaurant, and I hope that it succeeds, even though it was a bit dead when we went. The service was decent, the food was great, and the hibachi grill master did a wonderful job incorporating everyone at the table. I would definitely go back in the future"

"Food was moderate to okay. Service was really good. Upon entering, we were greeted by all employees we encountered. There was some confusion between servers at one point. "We sat at their Hibachi Grill table and had a great time! This is a place to go with a group, there were 8 of us. The noise level a little high at times but because of the cooking. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. It is on the high end of Hibachi grills as far as quality and freshness of food. We have been here before for sushi, which was excellent!!! Definitely recommend, especially for a celebration."
