Nestled on the northeast corner of Preston Road and Forest Lane in North Dallas, Woodlands is an inspired choice for lunch or dinner. Whether you are entertaining business associates at lunch or catching up with your best friends over dinner, Woodlands is the perfect spot. Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s famous Falling water House, natural stone, beautiful hardwoods and clean, contemporary lines combine to create a modern setting for the Executive Chef’s polished menu of innovative American favorites. His passion for excellence is reflected in the simple, elegant menu offerings.
"We sat on the patio for a lovely dinner on a great night. Our waiter was perfect. She saw that we were enjoying conversation and didn't push to get our orders but was very attentive when we were ready. Love the food. The steak I had was thick and juicy. The burgers come with sweet potato fries and wonderful pickles. The chopped salad is a meal in itself. Tuna nachos are great for sharing. And the vegetable are always done to perfection. Chocolate bark as a parting dessert is a treat. The waiters will be as quick or as leisurely as you like. It is a very relaxed restaurant with excellent food."

"Great food; they were able to accommodate our request to grill the fish special and increase the vegetables instead of potato offered. Great place for a date night or catching up with friends. Nice variety of dinner options and desserts."

"Food was delish!!!! We sat on the patio and the weather was great! However, our waiter was very very slow and unattentive. It took forever to order which was very aggravating since we had an infant with us."

"Great for lunch as long as you have plenty of time. Food was good. Atmosphere was good. We were in the corner. I had to ask for the waiter to come take our order. I had to ask for a to-go box thinking that would give him the hint for the check. Over an hour and a half just to have lunch. I will come back but only when I have plenty of time. It was very loud."

"Woodlands has quickly elevated itself to a neighborhood gem. Stacie is a personable, attentive server. Charlie makes the best lemon drop martini's. They are key contributors to what makes this a special place and why I am a repeat customer. My friends and clients that I take there love the place. They do a great job with seafood - my favorite is their salmon."

"It was a Saturday night at 8:45 when we arrived at Woodlands. The room had four tables in it, max. Milly was a good server and she suggested a tasty Malbec for $45. Our entrees were good if not great. Fish Tacos were spicier than most places. The chicken pasta entree was okay although the chicken breast had no real flavor. The salmon was well received however it was medium well. The seabass came with high expectations and it didn't live up to them."

"My four friends and I have met once a month for Sunday lunch for the last twenty five years. We try different places and like to enjoy our lunch and visit in a pleasant, non rushed atmosphere (that's why we met at 2:00 after the rush). The food was fantastic, with generous portions and the service was outstanding. We enjoyed this restaurant very much and appreciate our waiter's patience with our two hour lunch."

"What a surprise. We were looking for somewhere casual and not too pricey with a good seafood offering. Choices including two daily fresh catch pecials, salmon, trout, tuna and shrimp made choosing our entrees difficult. Waiter, Drew, was friendly and informed and gave great service without intruding. Owner stopped by to ask about our meal. My friends and I eat out regularly and have exposure to some of the best in town; this is truly a hidden gem.
Nice fresh decor was comfortable with good vibe. Bar area was suitable to relaxed meet-up area too.
We will definitely go back and have already told our friends about our new find."

"All dishes were a success. Favorites were the brie appetizer, mahagony chicken and salmon salad. Delivery of food seemed a bit slow, but still acceptable."

"Woodlands is my go-to spot for business lunch in north Dallas. The food and service are consistently good; it is not too loud; and the atmosphere is is casual but appropriate for business. My regular entree is the cedar plank salmon salad. And if I am not sticking to my diet, I'll order the sweet potato fries for the table -- they are the best in town!"

"Love Love the Woodlands Grill - great service and consistently good food. I love the Salmon Salad and the Maple Smoked Trout salad - both are excellent. I like the atmosphere. The good service and the food - they have a good variety of entrees. You can have a hearty meal or a light meal. Something for everyone. The Quatro Leche dessert is amazing! I always recommend the Woodlands Grill. My favorite place to go."

"The Date Night Menu is terrific. What a great deal for two people! The serving sizes for the shared appetizer and dessert were generous. The salads and entrees were very good. Best filet mignon I have had in a long time. The orange glazed salmon was also very nice. Presentation and service were also great. The waitstaff were very friendly and attentive. We also like the atmosphere. Very upscale for a neighborhood restaurant. Our new favorite place. Both times we have been there we dined liesurely and did not feel rushed. We will be back again and again."

"We"ve been many times, it is always great. The perfect neighborhood restaurant. The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is inviting and relaxing. The servers are excellent and personable. The menu has choices that work for whatever mood your in.I have had almost every entree on the menu. The fish entrees are excellent, and there is usually a special every nite. You can change side dishes if you want. Soups are very good, the small wedge salad as a starter is a favorite for me. The only dish I haven't hit off with is the ribeye, although the filet is a one of my favorites. Small but nice wine list, several choices by the glass. Nice seating layout means it doesn't get to noisy. It's a nice spot to meet friends for weekend brunch."

"The restaurant is very pretty outside and in. The noise level was a little higher than I would like for a romantic dinner but the booth we happened to be placed in quieted it and it was much better, but the rest of the restaurant would have been louder. It didnt sound like a bar or anything, just louder than average. The calamari appetizer was good. My wife got the Filet Mignon and loved it. I ordered the Chicken Campanelle which was only ok at best. The chicken was rather dry and the basil cream sauce wasnt very flavorful. In their defense, I have ordered that item once previously and it was much better. We got a Brownie for dessert which was alright, but not as good as I would have expected."

"Our meal was delicious. The first wine glass I received was smelly, like it had been dried with an old cloth. The waitperson brought me another. She was accommodating on our wine selection and let us taste two types before deciding, but she was not very gracious about it. We also waited a very long time for our food and no explanation was offered. The service was not remarkable and slow at the end when our check was due."
