Savoy Bar and Grill Albuquerque
Abundant and beautiful California Wine Country in the Northeast Heights. Welcome to “Savoy”! A sun-filled, unpretentious but sophisticated, wine-friendly restaurant.
As you walk into the dramatic high-ceiling entryway, you are moved in all directions. To the East you have a frosted view of the tasting room, loaded with fresh flowers and walls of glass-encased wine. To the West you get a glimpse of the lounge bar leading to the vine-covered patio.
Light, open and airy with butter-colored walls, dark wood and black & white photography of wine country all come together to create an elegant yet surprisingly comfortable atmosphere in the main dining room. The dark and contemporary edge to the room is offset during the day with an abundance of natural light from large windows and three strategically placed skylights. That oven will be our culinary focal point for the exhibition kitchen, where our guests will see and smell the citrus roasted duckling, the roasted platter of shellfish

"Eaten here tons of times. Really like the patio and happy hour. This past trip however occurred during one of out windstorms, so sat in main dining area for dinner. Had the bison short ribs. They were tender but really could have used a little less salt in the reduction. Friend had the salmon and another the prime rib. Both were satisfied with their main dishes. Side vegetables were too salty for them so went unbeaten. I'd go back since I've eaten here a lot and didn't have the issue with over seasoned items in the past. Maybe a different chef on the line this visit?"

"Good but not as good as numerous previous experiences at Savoy. Very good service, and noise level quite low for a Saturday night. Crab cake appetizer was annoyingly BLAND. No crab lumps, just some stringy crab meat with no flavoring. Greenish sauce was pretty and pretty tasteless. Salads were fine. Tuna main plate very good. Small cut prime rib was a lot bigger than small: cut was surprisingly hard to cut even with steak knife. Not as tasty as expected."

"Went for a 34th wedding anniversary and they did not disappoint. Service was professional (not too much or too little) and prompt (a lovely celebrator glass of champagne was brought almost as soon as we sat down), and the team working in the kitchen cooked each dish (he-rib eye, me fish) to the perfect degree of doneness. There was not one grain less or more than was needed on each component of the dishes and it was one of the few times that we have gone out and I not thought, "I could have done that better (and more economically) at home". I love to cook but there are times that I like to go out and taste someone else's work, which more often than not, is a disappointment. In short, Savoy did an outstanding job!"

"Our first time here. I had the ahi and she had the petite filet, cooked perfectly and per the waiter's suggestion. Both were really excellent and a good value. We split an appetizer (goat cheese wrapped in procuitto) and that was delicious. We each had a half salad. Needless to say we were full and very satisfied. Only issue was our wait person who seemed distant, going through the motions without much personality. Now, I'm not expecting Jerry Lewis but he was almost bored. I noticed a general "down" vibe with the wait staff. I have a feeling something is amiss in the management. Food great, service slow, and rather distant. Just sayin'."

"Our first time here; won't be our last. Great service -- attentive but not overpowering. We were celebrating my birthday and they gave me a nice surprise. Food was very good although my soup was a bit on the cool side. They would have gladly fixed that but I told them not to bother. I rated the noise level as Quiet and this was true for the nice room in which we were seated. I did note, though, that the noise level was higher in other areas. It was a bit chilly at our table even though I was sitting near a fireplace. All in all, a very enjoyable evening."

"The meal was not what we had hoped for. While the service was excellent, the flavors did not live up to the same. Oysters were somewhat dried out and pieces of oyster shell were in the oysters. My salad had no dressing on it and the seared tuna with it had little flavor. My husband's "special" lamb chops were flavorless.
All-in-all not the best experience."

"It was a busy Friday night and Savoy was filled. My table was ready at the reserved time and my server, Michele, did a great job all evening taking care of me. There was lots of description for each of the evening's specials. I had both the special salad and entree. Both were very good. Very good wine list by the glass and bottle. Desserts looked very good, but the salad and entree were so filling I could not try them."

"Savoy is a fine dining restaurant with a great lunch (and bar) menu. The Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf was perfect on this cold winter day. Served with sour cream mashed potatoes and braised autumn greens and topped with a few fried onion strings, it hit the spot as it was big on comfort and flavor with the elegance of fine dining. We concluded the meal with the delicious Pineapple Rum cake with a little butter pecan ice cream."

"The lunch special was Ravioli stuffed with crab. I avoid these because they are usally a glob of pasta; however, these were puffy with a good amount of crab in the center and a proper balance of pasta. There was also an excellent amount of a wonderful seafood broth with winter root vegetables. This was a wonderful winter dish with heavy vegetables and a ligth accompaniment of seafood broth and ravioli to create a perfect balance. The flight of flutes with bubbles made a great partner for this dish. Sop the broth up with the bread that comes straight from the oven. Now you are ready to relax and get your mind properly set to face the rest of a wonderful day!"

"My husband and I have eaten here many times and the superb food and wine list keeps bringing us back again and again. However, this time the wait staff was subpar. It was obvious to us, that the waiter had not been trained nor screened when applying for the job. He did not know the basics of serving, i.e. serving the ladies first, serving from the left and removing from the right. My husband had to ask for water refill, and wine list several times. I hope the management will attend to waiter training before allowing one to wait tables, esp. on a Saturday night!"
