"After we were seated, it was more than 5 minutes before anyone came to our table and left bread. No water or drinks. Another 5 minutes passed and water was served and drink orders were taken along with food order. 10 more minutes and my tea was delivered with out the sweetner I had requested. Almost 5 more minutes and my friends drink was delivered and I had to again request sweetner. The first 25 minutes were a huge disappointment. From there, things went much, much better. Food started to arrive (we had ordered the 4 course meal option) and each course after that was right there as we finished the previous one. The waitress was very friendly, just a poor start. The food was excellent and overall we enjoyed our evening very much."

"All in all, this was an ok brunch compared to five previous ones. The beef and buffalo were very good, chicken and fish dry. No lamb, elk, wild pork, or venison. Very unhappy. Vegetables and desert very good. The shrimp outstanding, the oysters were terrible!

"The ambiance was incredible. We were seated in front of the fireplace which was perfect since it was snowing outside and the temperature was around 32 degrees. The food was great and the timing between courses was just right. Craftwood Inn is our choice for that perfect evening on that special occasion. We've been going to Craftwood Inn for 10 years and hope to continue for another ten."

"The crispy pheasant risotto, buffalo short rib, rabbit consomme, Colorado elk, and dark chocolate bombe were all superb. Despite the restaurant being completely booked (we visited on a Saturday night), the service was fast and efficient, and we never felt rushed or ignored. Highly recommended."

"A bit pricey, but worth it. We went on a gift certificate. Meals ran in the $30-$50 range. I had the large game trio (deer, elf, boar steaks). They were fillet sized but filling and cooked to pefection. I've eaten a lot of venison, but this was prepared the best. A little heavy on the marmalade sauce. FIngering potatoes were fine. Shrimp appetizer mixed with greens was nice. Would also recommend their avocado cucomber salad; outstanding. Finished with a peaches and cream desert which was great, but after the meal was a challenge to find room for. Not a place to go regularly, unless you have unlimited funds (our evening came to $150 w/o wine; water only). But, for a special eveing, it's the best. Will go there again."

"Brother Luck is doing an excellent job bringing back the quality and flavor in the meals. Craftwood Inn had gone down hill for a while. There is an excellent selection of meals. While Wild Boar is my favorite, the Elk is quite good and is without the "gamey" taste. He tries to contrast and/or blend flavors to make each meal unique. I sometimes request substitutions from other menu items as I do not tolerate some foods very well."

"Really unique creations with wild game, very tasty! Even if you don't like wild game, I think you might like this just because of the way the chef has prepared the dishes. A little more expensive menu than other places, but definately worth it for the experience. This is a great place to go for special occasions, and if you sign up on the Craftwood's website they will send you a nice gift for your birthday!"

"We enjoyed our dinner at Craftwood Inn very much. We enjoy game dishes, and their menu has a variety of game and other unusual dishes. We had Elk and Kangaroo, and both had unique and delicious preparations. There are dining rooms on a couple of levels in this old home, and we really appreciate that the tables are spaced nicely and not crammed in too tight. The noise level rose a bit when a Prom group came in near the end of our dinner, but were were still able to enjoy our conversation. The staff was courteous and knew their menu items well. We dined there for our anniversary a few years ago, too, and were very happy to have the opportunity to return. I'm sure we'll be back!"

"My wife and I took my parents here for their 45th wedding anniversary. The food was great and the waiter we had was great. "Everyone was very pleasant and our waiter Steven, was excellent. He suggested a wine that was very good. I had made a request for seating by a window and our table was perfect.
They had run out of the lamb but our vegetable choice and salads were excellent. My brother and I enjoyed our deserts and I appreciated his being free in celebration of his birthday. I will plan on returning in the summer when the grounds and outside dinning would add to the experience.

"We had Easter Brunch and it was divine. Everything was scrumptious. The fact that it is known to have different game was what really drew me to it since my husband is really into that. First time I had Red Deer and it was very, very good. Thought it might be gamey but it was as good as the prime rib! Certainly would go back and would love to try just a normal dinner there."

"The salads were great, the only question I would have is why freeze avocado?? They didn't have the wine I selected but was given another great choose (at a higher price). My wife had the lamb chops and she enjoyed them and the risotto. I had the Buffalo rib. Good flavor, but vey dry, the potato was bit more like a dense mussy deep fried hash brown and did not compliment the rib. For desert my wife had the cheese cake and enjoyed that, I had the Meyers lemon cake. It was a tiny little cup cake in the middle of sauce. Our server was great. He gets 5 stars. I never saw any management or chefs or anyone checking to see how everyone was doing. When we left there was no one to say thank you and good bye. Had to find someone to get our coats."

"The variety of food selection was amazing. I thought that serving sizes would be small due to the 4 course menu we selected. I was wrong, my party of 4 was so satisfied we had to take the desserts to go. Service staff was wonderful. We ordered the scallops and beef tenderloin, both were very good.
The fireplace area where we were seated was a bit too dark, had a hard time seeing what was on the plates. While the food was fantastic, the serving plates must have been cold as the temperature of the food was not hot only a warm temperature. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends."

"Worst dining experience of my life. Three hours before my reservation, I decided on my wine from their online selection w/ prices. Then I spoke with the hostess to verify the advertised 50% discount on Fridays and she spoke with management before confirming. The bottom line: I was confronted with a $280 wine bill instead of the expected $150. I confronted the night manager who told me that the online wine prices are known to be incorrect. Then he volunteered that he remembered my query which was relayed to him by the hostess. But when we confronted the hostess together, my allegations were confirmed. Bottom line: false pricing, false discounts, and a night manager who has no clue about customer satisfaction."

"Great Experience. Had lived locally for almost a decade and had never tried Craftwood Inn out. Great food. Excellent choice of wild game. We had the Black Angus, which was superb and the Elk, which was equally delicious.If you want to avoid the chain restraint crawl and you want something unique and truly local than the Craftwood Inn must be on your list"

"We are frequent diners at Craftwood Inn and will continue to be. It was always a good restaurant, but since Brother Luck came on board as Head Chef, it has gotten even better. The food is absolutely delicious and prepared with a unique and eclectic blend of ingredients. My Pork Belly with cardoman maple syrup and bacon jelly was tender and succulent. My wife's Nilgai Antelope on a bed of winter squash was equally outstanding and prepared just as ordered. Dessert was equally outstanding. My wife had the signature white chocolate and jalapeño mousse and I had a fantastic cardamon flavored creme brule'. The wine list is excellent and runs the gamut of reasonably priced vintages to higher priced offerings fit for the discriminating palate"

"Me and my girlfriend always like to go to nice places on special occasions for dinner, Craftwood Inn is one of them. The service is always great, as is the food. The appetizer was good. This last time the Elk was a bit tough to chew, not a deal breaker as the plate came with two cuts and only the first one was tough. My girlfriends ribs on the other hand was cooked just right and tender. The pumpkin pyramid was also good, too bad it was a pretty small serving. We were hoping it was a good size for sharing. Other than that, it was a nice evening spent at the Craftwood."

"This is a great place to try wild and exotic game and meat; they do a great job. They have an interesting menu and explore interesting taste combinations.
However, the night we visited, something was up with the kitchen; some food was undercooked other items were a touch overcooked - all on the same plate.
The staff wasn't as well trained as one would expect. Upon requesting a second glass of wine, the waiter switched wines and brought a different type than the first one.

"Went for the special valentine's day prix fix menu - service was horrible. Our waitress practically ignored us while other patrons were seated, served, and enjoyed dinner while we watched from the sidelines. For the cost involved, I would have hoped the service would have been above the standard. Unfortunately, our waitress never even met the standard. Dissapointing since we saw others around us receiving excellent service. Would not recommend this location to friends or family."

"The Valentine's 5 course diner was very good. Fresh and tasty except the custard dessert. The server did not burn off the alcohol and it rendered the custard uneatable because of the bitterness from the alcohol.
Problem is they seated us in a room that was cold. Everyone in the room had to put on the jackets. Thus the ambiance negates all the enjoyment out of food experience. I can't enjoy the food when the room temperature reaches uncomfortable level.
The service was so so. When we mention the coldness, server did not do anything till 25+ min later they brought in the space heater (which did not help BTW).

"We went to the Craftwood Inn on Valentine's Day. We were greeted in a very welcoming manner and immediately taken to our table. Our waiter was excellent as was our four course meal. Many wonderful wines were available. We had a very relaxed dinner by the fireplace. I also received a rose upon leaving. I would highly recommend this restaurant."
