"Went for Restaurant Week, and it really was one of those experiences that made me think that Shaun's didn't skimp one single thing for their special RW menu. Many restaurants will cut down their portions, or create some sub-par dish so they can staunch their losses (if any) for the RW prices, and I'll notice it. Shaun's though, I felt I had just as good a time--food, service, atmosphere--as if I'd come any other day, and let me tell you...their usual standard of business-as-usual is exemplary, everything. There were 7 of us, and our server just handled us superbly. Never without water, wine when we wanted it, extra utensils when things were cleared away. The chopped liver app was phenomenal. Steak cooked perfectly! I'll be back."

"I have been to Shaun's at least half dozen times over the past few years. I visited for restaurant week and was glad to see many regular items on the menu. I had the salmon and my brother had the pork schnitzel. The salmon was amazing and the pork was as tender as ever. The sticky toffee pudding for desert is to die for, some may think it is overly sweet but not for me. Tim was our waiter and he was attentive enough without being overbearing. Despite being packed, our meal moved along at just the right pace with just a little delay on getting refills from the bar."

"I was very disappointed by my experience at Shaun's. I made my reservation for 8:30 and my party didn't get seated until almost 10pm. The hostess was so scattered and did an awful job communicating to my party why there was a wait. I understand that it gets backed up, especially for Inman Park Restaurant Week, however, she should have been more apologetic and communicative. In an ideal situation, the Manager would come over and offer us a complimentary glass of wine. It was ridiculous!! We stood there for over an hour waiting to be seated. When we were seated, we were never given a wine menu and I had to ask our waitress to bring us the bread basket. Overall, I was very disappointed in the customer service at Shaun's."

"The pork belly salad is one of the best things I have ever eaten. Wow. Service was friendly and attentive, even though it was restaurant week and they were VERY busy. None of the desserts were absoultely amazing, but all were good. I will go back again and again for that salad though."

"What a wonderful place! The service is excellent and the food fantastic. Even though our table was close to the one next to us, it still felt private. I had the salmon and Brussel sprouts - so fresh and simple. Make sure to save room for desert - always a great selection."

"So great! The staff seemed a little frantic and our server was less than pleased (probably because it was so packed for restaurant week). But, overall, great experience. I perused all of the Inman Park menus before making a choice and this was definitely the best menu. Great food, lovely space, would definitely come back for the pasta deal (im a broke recent grad) and bring my friends!"

"We were pleasantly surprised when we entered the restaurant. However, it went downhill once we were seated. The server was clueless in regards to menu preparation and presentation. "We (two of us) made reservations for 8 pm on a Friday, and arrived two minutes before. The hostess came and took our names at 8, saying she'd be right back to seat us. We saw her approaching us with two menus in hand, but then stopped to talk to a group of customers who came in after us and were apparently upset about something. She apologized to them and put down our menus, and told us she'd be "right with you. Please have a drink at the bar." We then watched for the next 12 minutes as she ran around anxiously and stopped in to apologize to that group, but did not address us again. There were plenty of open tables, and to be put off after she was about to seat us was rude and insulting. We left."

"We had a great experience. We love the cozy feeling of the place, like you are in someones home. It is a little noisy but I think that lends to the homey dinner-party feel. "Food was very good. We had the Prix Fix before 7 p.m.; Schnitzel and one of us had the shrimp grits-dish. The soup tasted "burned," and it was not clear whether it was intentional or by accident. The dessert was too much, and heavy (especially when considering the rather heavy bean based soup). Nice atmosphere. Waitress was new but pleasant. Overall, we can recommend it very much. By the time we left (8:30 p.m.), there was a vibrant crowd."

"Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Shaun's. Great atmosphere. The Valentine's Days menu was satisfying. My only real complaint about the evening is that the kitchen was heavy handed with the spices. Some of the dishes would have been much more enjoyable if my mouth wasn't on fire. "Occasion was Valentine's Day. Very pleased with selection of reataurant and will definitely go again as well as try their brunch. Both of us had the 4 course prix fixe meal. Appetizers and intermezzo were suiperb. Entrees (sirloin and pork chop) were average. Sirloin sauce was outstanding but sirloin was chewy and porkchop fairly tasteless. Dessert (Carrot Cake) was OK."

"We were pretty disappointed by Shaun's. The night started off well with a couple of the specialty cocktails (Tim's cocktail and a festivus) at the bar. We were then seated and sat for quite a while before the waiter came to bring us water. I ordered the pork chop and my girlfriend got the quail but only after wanting the char and was told they were out. After a very long wait we received bread because our food was taking so long. When we got our meal, they were both cooked perfectly but had zero taste. We ended the night with the carrot cake which turned out to be amazing. Overall, we won’t be going back to Shaun’s."

"Nice dinner for Valentines Day. Although, it was a limitied prix fixe menu, which contained very few to zero items from the main menu. Overall a nice dinner in a small eatery. The pork and sirloin were very good. The octopus salad and curried oysters were very good with a nice large portion. The lobster puttanesca (sp?) only had 2 little chunks of lobster, but the sauce was very tasty. Not at all enough lobster compared to pasta. Would try again on a regular night to gauge the resturaunt on it's normal menu."

"This is the seconod time we have been to Shaun's and our first experience was not great either. The poor service overwhelms what I think is a decent menu. We had to wait almost 20 min for our cocktails to arrive and I would have mentioned that to a manager but I couldnt find one. This doesnt seem like a well run restauarant which is a shame becuase it is a great location and has tremendous potential. I doubt very much we will be back."

"All four courses on the fixed-price menu for Valentine's Night were excellent, as was the service. We have only good things to say about the selections we made and the quality of the food. We were a little surprised that the web page had said there would be five choices for each of the four courses, when in fact there were only three choices per course. Since they were all excellent, no harm was done. But it's nice for what's advertized and what's delivered to match."

"The menu was very limited. They ran out of two out of three seafood dishes. If you didn't eat meat then you were out of luck. The waiter was very frustrated as he had no interest in answering our questions pertaining to the menu. We never received a bread basket and it took over 40 minutes to receive our appetizers which were very scant. The deserts were the best part of the evening. We invited a couple to join us who are "foodies" and were frankly embarrassed about the service and the quality. Our bill was $350."

"The food at Shaun's was excellent. However, despite the fact that we had an 8:30 pm reservation, our party of 4 was not seated until 9:50 pm. Coincidentally, a friend of ours was eating at Shaun's that evening with 3 guests. They arrived at 9:30, without a reservation, and their party of 4 was seated before we were. The two tables in the front window area by the bar were set for service, but no one sat there the entire time we waited. Since the bar was full, we went ahead and sat at one of those tables for the period between 9:15 and 9:50, but no one associated with the restaurant offered that option -- we simply decided on our own that we were tired of standing after 45 minutes."

"The entire staff was some of the most kind and attentive people I have ever come across while dinning out in Atlanta from the host all the way to the food runners. The food was Delicious and the (Tim's)& ginger cocktail I had before dinner was was the best. Our waiter said he liked to pretend it was named after him.

"My wife and I went for my birthday. Had a wonderful meal expertly served by Tim. Tim's a little quirky but he did a very nice job. He recommended an organic gin based cocktail that was very refreshing. The Little Creek oysters were wonderful as an app, very briny, really woke up the taste buds. I really came for the chicken liver fettuccine and it did not disappoint. The livers were superb, melt in your mouth. My wife had the schnitzel. It was good but I've had better in many German restaurants. Nice wine list also.

We will be back."

"I tried Shaun's for the first time on a Sunday night for pasta night. the service & ambiance were great! the food was also very good. I wish they would offer a choice for salad instead of only serving one for a group (I don't know how healthy it was!). Only 3 choices for pasta but everyone liked their choice a lot. I'm not sure the gelato was actually gelato....it seemed like vanilla ice cream to me! the additional menu options looked very good...I'd definitely go back & try something else. "Great Food, Pork Belly Amazing and Steak Great! Cool place... THE WORST SERVICE IN ATLANTA! While waiting on our table tried to get a drink at the bar... nope bartender was awful. Tried to order a bottle of wine with dinner... nope server forgot it. Then the server tries to make up for it by bringing us just a glass of wine and he picks a $20 glass and charges us... the dang bottle we wanted was only $42. I did think it was a little weird that the pork dish for $21 comes with 2 sides and the steak for $32 comes with nothing. Love the food but probably won't go back because of the service"

"In our recent return visit to Shaun's we were disappointed with the service (the food is quite good). Our server rarely checked on our table, even when standing at the next table, and we were left sitting with empty water and wine glasses, no bread etc. We would look to flag him down and he was nowhere to be found. From listening to his comments to other tables when he did show up, it seemed like he wasn't paying attention to timing/when runners were bringing food to the tables. Timing from the kitchen seemed off, we got our entree, then waited for a long time for the sides to appear and then waited again for serving spoons for the sides. For this price point, service should be much better."

"We were so excited to try Shaun's for dinner and chose NY eve to do it. The brunch is amazing but we were disappointed with dinner and no sure if it was becuase of the holiday or how it is all of the time. The scallops with wood her mushrooms was very good but most of the dished were noticeably under seasoned, like the shrimp & grits and the crab cakes. The desserts were very good. In addition to the food being just off a little bit the service was attrocious! Our waiter just never connected withus and when we asked for what he forgot on his last trip he often promised - "I'll be right back" and then we wouldn't see him for a long time. The most annoying -bringing our coffee, then 10 mins later the sugar & then several mins later the cream."

"We went for the great Sunday night pasta special (three courses for $12). The salad was adequate but nothing to write home about. We were confused as we never received salad plates but had bread plates on our table. We had to track down our server to ask about salad plates and she said they just used those little plates. (A little odd to me, but whatever.) However, one person also asked for dressing on the side and the salad comes to the table in a large serving bowl with the dressing already mixed. Wish that had been explained. The pasta however was excellent. Highly recommend the ricotta ravioli with pesto and pistashios for a light pasta meal. The dessert was chocolate gelato and again good, but nothing to say "wow" about."

The salad had zero flavor. The spaghetti and pork meatballs had only a little flavor. The butternut squash ravioli was too sweet, it didn't let the squash shine you know. The gelato was more like ice cream but was fantastic, really delicious, so that was nice. Our service was pretty terrible, we kept having to search out and flag down our waiter for things he should have offered in the first place. I'd go again though - to check out the regular menu and for the ambiance. I like the bar a lot."

"We usually like this restaurant, but had a bad service experience on friday night. Our waiter wasn't very attentive, and when they brought the check, they didn't bring the itemized copy. Didn't tell us that a 20 percent tip was already included (we were a party of six)...we almost put a tip on it until i suggested that we double check. We almost unknowingly paid our tip twice for just fair service. Not a good practice by the restaurant to not even tell their customers when tip is included in the bill!"

"My second time at Shauns ... loved it. I'm very glad I tried it again after a more than two hour wait on New Year's Eve. Wonderful food and service, perhaps the best brunch ever. Very unusual menu, super fresh food, knowledgable server. Even got to meet the chef!"

"Dined at Shaun's for Sunday brunch with a group of 4. We were all first timers. The menu was somewhat limited, but the food was well prepared and the selections were unique twists on some common dishes (e.g. cheddar waffle). I thought that the shrimp and grits were quite tasty. I'd definitely like to go again for dinner."

"I had been wanting to try Pasta Night for a while. The chopped salad was lettuces and radicchio with a good buttermilk dressing. I especially enjoyed the lasagna. It was classic comfort food for a chilly night, with yummy, thin layers of pasta, a tasty marinara sauce, creamy cheese filling and organic beef."

"Hi, I recently dinned at shaun's and was very pleased with the food, the only thing that really bothered me about my experince was the service. Im a server at a local restaurant and was interested in the monkfish on shauns menu, so when I asked the server about the dish, all he knew was that it was bone in. He proceeded to tell me that it was similar to flounder. Really? As a server who studies his menu so he can make every guest understand what they are ordering, I wasn't sure how a chef could let someone on the floor without knowing the menu."

"Food was very unique. There wasn't a whole lot on the menu for my husband and I who do not eat beef or pork. Many dishes had pork belly in it, but they took the pork belly out on request.

We ordered the french fries fried in duck fat. The waiter forgot to get it for us as an appetizer. When we asked about it after our salads came (our favorite part of the meal), he said that it would have to come with our main meal as they were about to come up. We said we didn't want them. He apologized profusely several times.

After our main course, he brought us a sampler of fries. That was really nice, but I was a little grossed out watching the kitchen staff noshing on them before-hand. Kinda gross.

Desert was awesome! Might go again."

"This restaurant is waaaay over priced for the taste and flavor quality of the food. The combination of ingrediants for many of the side dishes and our appetizer were bitter tasting and lacked appeal. The main course meat was quite good, though. We were disappointed at having brown paper on the table and plastic containers from the grocery store for our coffee creamer. Not the level of quality you'd expect from a restaurant in this price category. The lighting in the back dining area has good lighting on one half and no lighting on the other. The experience was a total turn-off. I think we'll stick with Horseradish Grill, JCT Kitchen, and Murphy's when we want this type of food."
