Dolce Italian
Located on the iconic Collins Avenue in the heart of South Beach, Dolce Italian is Miami’s newest dining destination located at The Gale Hotel. Dolce’s menu offers a contemporary take on Italian classics, featuring dishes ranging from wood-roasted pizza to house-made pasta, Italian-style steaks, chops, salads, and fish dishes. The 6,000 sq. ft. space restaurant encompasses a 30 seat indoor café, 90-seat outdoor café, a wood-fired pizza bar, vibrant lounge, full-service bar and a magnetic 90-seat main dining room, where locals and tourists alike can enjoy a charming evening of indulgence.

"The huge groups of smokers standing outside the bar doors made eating at our table impossible - we had to move to the other side to get away from the fumes so we could enjoy our food! If you go, wait for a table on the right-hand side (facing the entrance) from the street and you'll save yourself the aggravation. Didn't help it took almost 30 minutes to get our first drinks; it wasn't busy enough to warrant the delay. Also, be careful if you order a filet, lots and lots of tiny bones which is really quite dangerous. Not sure if the chef got the message but that's going to get this place in trouble when someone ends up with a punctured esophagus."

"A delightful Restaurant, service and food was great. The only complaint was the loud rock music. The my=usic did not go with the decor and elegance of the place. We would have preferred Frank Sinatra and Italian love songs."

"Party of five for Easter lunch at 1h00 p.m. No valet, public parking at St. James Av. When we arrived, there was no one at the restaurante and we were concerned that it would be a bad sign. However, the food and service were very good, although a little bit pricey. Everybody liked and we had a very quiet lunch, what was great."

"Dolce has a great ambiance, the crowd was not the typical tourists from Miami Beach, which we enjoyed. The food was very good, but service very poor. The pasta bolognese was really, really good. Our wait between the first and second course was approximately 45 minutes, and we had to ask a few times what was going on. My husband's dish was almost cold. When complained about the service we were told that there was a VIP group and all the priority and attention was given to that group. They tried to compensate by not charging my husband's dish and giving free desert. But we rather pay our dishes and enjoy the whole meal. We may try it again, to see if this was just a one time event."

"Dolce Italian at the Gale was a major let-down. The pasta (their "signature" spaghetti) was cooked to perfection, but SALTY. (Let the customers spice up their dishes, please.) The Margarita pizza had a very nice (fresh-tasting) tomato sause, but the cheese had a plastic-like consistency, which ruined that dining experience. (Why cheap out on the cheese?) And, the Caprese salad, had nice tomatoes, but the mozzarella wasn't soft; didn't taste the freshest. And, finally, to add insult to injury, service was well-intended, gracious, but extremely unfocused. (Had to ask for items, multiple times.) Not sure if they're ironing out the kinks, or if this is the best Dolce is capable of. (The latter would be bittersweet.)"

"Very good food here in an elegant space. Price points are good.
To bad they have fallen into the South Beach trap of loud and pedestrian music that overwhelms the space. This should be addressed by Corporate who were were told is responsible for this misstep.
Great food and service take a back seat to loud music that is out of step in this otherwise excellent restaurant !"

"We went on a quieter night, but even so the service was slow. The waiter misunderstood the appetizer we ordered (mixed beet salad) brought us a veal entree! LOL. We sent it back and getting the beet salad then held up the rest of our order. Two of our kids had pizza, one had plain pasta. Spouse had eggplant parmesan (very good), I had the short rib stuffed ravioli (very good but salty). Overall, food was good, ambiance and decor is very nice, service was slow, but that's typical for Miami."

"What a wonderful addition to our neighborhood. The service was friendly and top notch. You did not get any of the "attitude" that often comes with the new restaurants opening on the Beach. The staff seemed genuinely focused on making your experience enjoyable. The food was excellent and priced appropriately for the quality -- meaning you pay for the quality of the food but it was not over priced. My only suggestion would be to change.the music -- it did not quite fit the nature of the restaurant. Otherwise good job and we shall be returning soon."

"We just returned from 11 days in Florida.
Two dinners at DOLCE were amoung the high points of our vacation.'
The second dinner was especially memorable. From our seating at the bar
to the suggested cocktails by the Excellent Bartender, Ted to his suggestions
for shrimp and calamari with drinks....well really something memorable.
Our hostess,Mariencla was so pleasant and helpful in choice of tables and
food suggestions.Especially memorable is the octopus appetizer and the
red snapper - was - MEMORABLE !"
