"Wonderful, charming Russian restaurant. Food was delicious and well presented. Everyone enjoyed their different entrees: Chicken Kiev, Pork Moscovite and Beef Stroganoff with three side dishes. Service was good and attentive. Definitely a good dining experience!"

"Step into this cozy restaurant and be prepared to be waited on by the most sincere, eager-to-please servers in town. The prices are great, and this is a unique opportunity to try something you've never had - from borsht to peloshkis. For less adventurous diners, there are standbys like beef stroganoff and stuffed peppers. Tea service is available any time, and it includes a variety of items and an incredible pot of tea for $15. All of the meals are filling and well-prepared. A bonus: Bring your own alcohol and you won't be charged a corking fee."

"Lovely Sunday Brunch. Lots of delicious items - especially the smoked salmon, fresh omelets and blintzes, good crisp bacon, stuffed eggs, cookies, etc. Nothing was poor, so enjoy and get seconds of your favorites. Most items were light on sugar, salt, fat and carbs - which we really enjoyed. Made it so easys to try almost everything they served. Nice that we could bring our own good white wine to drink with the meal. ENJOY!!!"

"We had looked Kalina's up on the net as my fiancé had a craving for Russian food. We took our family for my father's 77th birthday. It's in a shopping center (but don't let that fool you), and is pretty small. They have a good number of tables, well spaced, and the atmosphere is inviting and pretty quiet. On this evening, there were 2 other largish parties (6 and 5) which made it louder than I would expect it normally is; this made it really hard for my dad, as he is elderly and hard of hearing. The décor is nice, simple, the tea services on display; it is clean. The food is marvelous. We had the stroganoff, chicken kiev, and chicken special. Everything was fresh, seasoned perfectly, and very tasty. You can tell all food is homemade."

"I really loved Kalina. The ambiance was peaceful, the waitstaff attentive, but not intrusive and the food was wonderful. The piroshki were delicious, but filling, so perhaps next time I'll just order the main course. The borscht was excellent. I had to take half the Stroganoff home, but it was just as good the next day reheated. The eggplant salad was a little bland. The pot of plum oolong was perfect for two people. This is a very tiny restaurant, so I would recommend reservations, just in case. Overall this was a great dining experience and I'll be back."

"From the attentive servers to the ever-present chef/owner, Kalina stands out in Tucson's restaurant scene. As the only Russian restaurant in town, Kalina serves up excellent Siberian Pelmeni (lamb dumplings); several salads; chicken Kiev; borscht; and always offers high tea, Russian-style. The reasonable prices and Kalina's BYOB policy (with no corking fee) adds to the attraction, especially in today's tough economic climate."
