If you are looking for an authentic culinary Italian experience, you just found the right place. Baonecci offers you delicious and traditional entrees from a Tuscan menu and thin-cracker mouth-watery pizzas each one hand rolled for you by Mamma Stefania. You"ll be amazed by the freshness and quality by each plate and you'll be comforted by the friendly Gambaccini family who will make your experience even more... "Italiana"
"Wonderful home-inspired cooking. . very Italian; Red checkered table cloths add more home-inspiration. Owners are friendly and proud to bring the cooking style from their homeland in Lucca, Italy. Pizza, soup, lasagna were flavorful but light. The chili olive oil is a nice touch too for adding to everything served."

"The food was great, we were seated right away at our reservation time. They did forget our salad, but they gave us a free desert for the wait. Great vibe, the server was very nice. We would definitely go here again!"

"I thought the reviews of the food here were a bit inflated - hate to say it but the food was just average. We had bruschetta and a mushroom pizza. I loved the relaxed Italian vibe and our waiter was a sweetheart!"

"Great burrata appetizer, awesome thin crust pizza!! I added some fresh basil to the pizza, which was some kind of ham/black olive/mushroom pizza. Everything was great."

"The proscuitto tasted like regular ham. The thin crust pizzas were pretty good. The pasta was a bit plain (no meat) but the marinara sauce was fresh."

"The place is fabu, and about everything we want in an Italian trattoria, including a warm and welcoming Italian family! Nothing slick, calculated, perfectly designed, and/or pseudo-Italian -- simply Mama's home cooking at its best. It's just like being there, but far cheaper than a trip to Italia... A definite recommend; go hungry."

"Stefania makes the best thin crust pies in town. Her pizze are crisp not chewy, topped by fresh quality ingredients. Baonecci also has salads the way I know them from Italy - try the Ortolana - and they make a farro soup like no-one else does. The wines by the glass - try the Barbera or the house-recommended Chianti: Smooth not overtowering they make for perfect companions of the deliciously simple food. Instead, if you're looking for sophisticated, picture-ready plates, don't go there. I've been a regular since when they were open for lunch only and I keep coming back - quality's been persistently good, as has the always friendly service by the entire Gambaccini family."

"Cute place, good food and great servers. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, and everyone there seems to be having a good time. The thin pizza crust is delicious. The tomato sauces are simple and perfect for the job they are doing. You will have fun here and enjoy your meal."

"AMAZING pizza - some of the best I've ever had. I wouldn't recommend bringing children here - had pg-13 movies showing on television and no kids menu. Pretty pricey as well."

"We found this gem one year ago and returned back to it on our next trip to SF because we were so impressed. Second visit might have trumped the first! Amazing thin crust pizzas, lovely wine and an amazing family that takes great care of their customers. We will continue this tradition of visiting Baonecci every time we come to SF!"
