"The brunch menu was interesting and everyone was able to find something to order (and they actually enjoyed it). The only problem was the service. Our waiter took awhile after we were seted to show up and then disappeared for awhile before bringing drinks. We were ready to order but he wasn't ready to take it so he walked off again. Other than to bring our food he didn't come back around. Had to flag him down because one order wasn't complete and we needed condiments for the table. By the time we got them the meal was almost gone."

"I thought we'd give this restaurant a try, but I'm not really sure we'll go back. I think service is really important. Our server was a low talker. I couldn't hear him at all and he really didn't seem to care much about us. Service was pretty slow. Thought the Mac n cheese was really good. Pork chop was over cooked. Menu is very limited. I thought the atmosphere was cool, great use of salvaged pieces."

"There was no one at the door to greet us & no one at the front bar, which was strange & uncomfortable for a Friday night. Disappointing that 3 of the 7 appetizers were not available & 2 of those were cheese plates. Our server made no effort to engage, but acted purely like an "order taker". For that kind of money, we expected a little more enthusiasm. The food read well, but was uninspired upon execution. No one was at the front when we left. Had high hopes, but were disappointed overall."

"Comfortable atmosphere for dining with friends. Vintage bar area with friendly barstaff and great selection of micro brews. Food is fresh, seasonal, thoughtful and very tasty. We had the tuna tatare (high quality tuna, delicious) and the grilled quail (tender, flavorful)."

"Food was excellent except for the charcuterie tray. The total amount of food on the tray was plenty for 4 but most items were barely enough for 2 people to have a taste. This was esp true for the cheese. The entire table enjoyed their salads and the filet was great. Bread pudding and ice cream were wonderful. Wine list is not extensive but adequate. Service was indifferent and slow."

"This was our second time to go. I think they have ironed out some of the opening jitters. The food was fantastic and the drinks were well designed and delicious. I love the ambiance to the place. They had all the doors open to take advantage of the great weather. We will definitely be back!"

"It was great. I took my wife and daughter for brunch and we pretty much grazed from a couple of different items. The french toast and chicken fried steak was amazing."

"First time at this restaurant with my husband and 20-something son. It was a great experience. I do not normally right reviews,(good or bad) however Acme Food & Beverage was noteworthy. No complaints! Would highly recommend. Food was very fresh, tasty, service great."

"The menu was funky. You keep staring at looking fro something you hope to like. The food was ok. Could have a great outdoor scene once it warms up. My guess is this place will not last long. Sad."

"What a total disappointment. I made reservations for me and my girlfriend on a Friday night. Despite a full restaurant seating was prompt, and was our initial drink order. Restaurant is Texas chic, but the steel seating was uncomfortable, not cool considering the main course prices. Took 15 minutes for our drinks, and 45 minutes for our main course to arrive. I continually had to flag wait staff down to order another cocktail. Appetizer of warm mozza was basically a blob of mozza, practically unservable without proper utensils (none given). The GF's steak was decent, however my chicken was probably the most paltry serving of food for $26 I have ever had. GF was also cold. Neither of us were impressed."

"One of the best meals we've had in Dallas. Outstanding service, picked every recommendation o four amazing waiter, and each item was unbelievably good. Duck Confit was excellent, great drinks, and nice, but small, wine list. Definite return favorite."

"My steak was almost raw inside and it took 30 minutes or so before they brought it back out. Meanwhile, my companions had finished their meals. The flatbread pizza was delicious."

"Chef Norman does a superb job with his menu. The energy and ambiance of this place is probably the best I have experienced in a long time. I always bring different friends here and each of them always fall in love with this place! I love that i can sit at a table for dinner and then change up the scenery by having cocktails or wine next to a cozy fire. Service is always great! I am absolutely hooked!"

"I've been here 5-6 times, now, and everyone I take here loves it. I can get bored with the smallish menu, but the food is really good every time. Drinks are great; beer selection is good and fun with the local, craft beers. All the entrees, whether it be beef, pork, chicken or fish...always cooked well and served well. We order oysters nearly every time we come because they are consistently some of the best I've ever had in Dallas...always so fresh, briny and tasty! I've been able to get my two kids to love oysters by offering them oysters here. Other places, they would eat one just to taste it and then they were done. Last time we at at F&B we ordered one dozen and then a second dozen."

"Wonderful food, Salt Grass oysters were delicious, as were the spinach and beets sides. I enjoyed the Gnocchi and my husband thought his Acme burger was excellent.
My only complaint--too loud! "Energetic" s such a euphemism. Why is this the trend in restaurants these days? Do people drink more when it's loud?"

"Great ambiance, decor, and drinks. I'd gone to Acme with a girlfriend the weekend prior, and loved it, so came back with husband & another couple.
Unacceptable that for a 9pm reservation we didn't get seated till 9.55pm. I get that this is a hip new place, but the excuse of 'some tables just won't leave' is beyond ridiculous. Many restaurants face this exact problem, I'm sure, but their management actually manages, to where this doesn't happen."

"Delicious Food. Atmosphere was great: perfect lighting, hip crowd, great music with the volume high enough to keep the energy up but still hear each other speak, and through all of this, the restaurant maintains a "back home" feel. Unfortunately, our service was slow, and the restaurant was smokey (possibly due to kitchen fire?). We will definitely be back to give the service another try. The roasted chicken was phenomenal. Skip the bread pudding."

"After reading good reviews I was excited to try this restaurant, especially given the pedigree of the founders. The atmosphere was fun given the reclaimed items and the menu was thoughtful, but the execution was poor. We had a party of 8 on a Saturday night at 7:30 for my wife's birthday. The waiter was scarcely seen. I had to order wine 4 different times as the waiter had to keep going back and forth to the bar and they were out of everything because their "wine manager" just quit. Our charcuterie plate had too many items with small portions on it. They should focus on fewer items and slightly larger portions. My sea bass was fresh, but the broth seemed to be a simple chicken stock that had no flavor. I won't be back."

"Crab & grapefruit gratin was excellent. Fried artichoke was less successful since the braised artichoke was mushy inside. Striped trout had crisp skin and cooked well. Clams were fine underneath, although the broth was a bit thin. Considering the dilapidated decor the sophisticated and good food was a big surprise."
