"If you are missing the best of Italy's cuisine, Mucca on Morrison will give you delectable tastes that are true to the best Italian culinary standards. had the spinach ravioli wich sage butter, and it took me back to a similar dish in a small trattoria south of Siena. Sublime! My companion had the muffeleta lunch special - delicious! I shall return."

"Decent food but nothing overly special relative to the prices and the portions.
Anyone reviewing their online menu beware the 5 course tasting dinner is a bit of a bait and switch. This sounded most appealing way to test the menu in a tapas approach and have a light supper before the theater. However once there we were told that on weekends this offering was only available if we both ordered it...it could not be split. Too much work for the kitchen...even tho it was 5:30pm and there was only one other couple in sight. That said, the wait staff was attentive and accommodating."

"The Host is rude and arrogant. The cuisine is over priced for what you get. The host is limited in his knowledge of the variety of Italian cuisine. The ambiance is very noisy."

"Our experience couldn't have been better...Honestly. From the staff, the food, the wine all of it was by far the best experience we have had out dining in Portland in years, if not ever. I can't even remember a restaurant where the staff was so attentive and freindly to our needs without being overbearing. We dined for three hours it was that type of place. My wife and I were out for a special occasion with another couple and we won't be waiting for a special occasion again to visit. This place will be the first place we will want to be when we go out. Many thanks to the staff and ownership, you have created a wonderful environment for dining out. - Kevin (Vancouver, WA)"

"Had an amazing time. In my reservation I added that we were coming there for our 5 year anniversary so our waiter surprised us with a desert. Thank you and we LOVED it there. It was perfect and very romantic with the candles. Thank you so much!"

"A gem tucked away on an unlikely street. We had a mushroom soup, spring salad, scallop antipasto, and trout. Everything was fresh, interesting, and perfectly prepared. Service was pleasant, and it was fun to watch the chef in the tiny open kitchen. Despite the thunder of the tram going by, the menu and ambiance felt very Italian -- we felt we could have been in a little osteria in Venice. We stopped here for a pre-theater dinner, and we will return."

"We visited after learning of this restaurant via Eater's 21 Most Underrated restaurants in Portland. They weren't kidding. The food, the ambiance, the wine, the timing of courses - it all came together so beautifully. I will absolutely be back here."

"We love this place...it's a little tricky to find, but when you get there, you will never be disappointed by the food. Mucca looks small from the street, but it's upstairs is perfect for private events. A 'must-try' if you are downtown."

"Overall this is a great restaurant. The service was outstanding and the food is exquisitely good. My only complaint was the main course options. They all have meat, and are mostly the chicken and steak variety. A vegetarian main course option would be nice. If you eat here, the meal is intended to be at least three courses - antipasti, primi and secondi. The pasta courses are the primi and they are very small...as to save room for the secondi course. Keep that in mind!"

"All of our dishes were delicious and well prepared. The servings were relatively small comapred to other restaurants but were sufficient for my wife and I. Ots definitely a place we will try again."

"The restaurant has great potential. The cooking is very strong. However the relationship between price portion size and ambiance is out of balance. The portions are very small yet expensive. However, it's location in a small storefront on a busy light rail street creates a sense of a fast paced get in, get out kind of place. Things seem a bit out of balance. There is good energy and effort. Perhaps a change of location would rebalance things."

"I came here with my husband for our first date night in Portland after finally having found a sitter to stay with our son. We both ordered the tasting menu. We were pleased that they brought us different items for each course, so while we both ordered the tasting menu we were able to try twice as many dishes. Everything we had was delicious and the timing of the dishes was excellent. Our waiter was helpful and attentive and the ambiance was pleasant, from the dim lighting and candles to the exposed brick and modern chandeliers."

"What a great discovery Mucca Osteria is! We knew nothing about it before making our reservation, except that it was Italian and near the theater where we had tickets for a performance. The downstairs is small, with a lovely decor (I didn't see the upstairs space.). The food is delicious and unusual. It's served in the true Italian way, with the expectation of ordering multiple dishes, so the pasta portions are small. For me, that was not a problem. The wait staff was attentive and did a great job of bringing the dishes so that we were able to make curtain. I look forward to returning when I can enjoy the menu at a more leisurely pace."

"I overheard a conversation about Muccas. The restaurant was described as a traditional Italian family restaurant, with chefs from Italy. I must say that the quality of food and service made for a great evening of fine dinning."
