"While recently in town on business, I treated myself to the kaz tasing menu / omakase experience. This was by far one of the best meals of my life. Everything was incredible fresh and tasty. The chefs seemed to really enjoy preparing it and the results showed it!"

"On vacation and found this restaurant advertised in one of those tourist flyers; so one wouldn't expect much.
Beyond "pleasantly surprised!"
Interesting and successful twist on "westernizing" sushi dishes.

"It is pricey, but you get what you pay for, and if you want the best sushi in DC, you don't have to look farther than Kaz. A great blend of new ideas and flavor combinations tempered by traditional sensibilities make this our favorite restaurant in DC. Over the years, Kaz has consistently been top notch.

"I'm not sure if this restaurant is just leisurely paced but it always seems that we're waiting for something. The food is outstanding but it seems to take forever to get drinks and they never come back to see if you want more. However, they are polite and friendly and the orders are accurate. It may just be me being so used to being rushed in DC that I forget how to just relax.
The food is more than enough to keep us coming back!"

"I took a visiting friend from high school to dinner at Kaz. This is a person who is an excellent cook and knows what to look for in a restaurant. She recognized the inventiveness and overall quality of what is served at Kaz immediately.
My only regret -we were seated in the window area, which is small and echoes voices. Request a floor-level table and you'll be able to hear each other better."

"It was an alright experience. I took someone out on a second date and could not hear a word because the noise level in the restaurant was too loud and we were seated close to a large group and other patrons.
The food was not the best but alright. However for that kind of price I would expect better quality, presentation and ambiance. My meal came up to about $125 including a sake taster for two."

"Waited 15 minutes to even get water, 15 minutes more to order, about an hour to get food. Small portions, but expensive $$$$. It was my wife's birthday and they ruined the night. Happy hour appetizers included broiled brussel sprouts and a delicate tofu dish that were a great bargain at $4 each. Tempura was just OK. Going early is a good idea, because by the time the place is 2/3 full, the background noise (82-84 dB by my measurement) is uncomfortable, making it difficult to hold a conversation."

"This was our second visit from PA to Kaz. It is THE BEST sushi restaurant we have ever visited! The food is beyond outstanding. The service as well. We happened to have the same young lady wait on us - she was excellent - not only in her service, but any question we asked of her, either she could answer for us or if not, she found an answer from someone else. I have told everyone I know who is a sushi lover that they must try Kaz! And of course, anytime we visit DC, our place to dine for sushi will be Kaz."

"After reading great reviews online, we ventured over to Kaz Sushi Bistro. The service was great and we were able to get a table right away after happy hour; however, the sushi was just so-so at best. We are partial to MoMo Sushi in Alexandria and Kaz's sushi couldn't even hold a candle to it. The sushi was slightly warm and honestly not that flavorful. Overall, just OK."

"This is my favorite spot for sushi in DC! I love their rolls, they are always fresh and have a lot of fish instead of being dominated with rice like other spots. My favorite two rolls are the spicy scallop and crunchy shrimp!"
