From an extensive list of authentic Neapolitan wood-fired pizzas, to fresh salads & homemade desserts, Verde brings the traditional flavors of Italy to the Canton neighborhood of Baltimore City. The restaurant also offers an assortment of local & imported Italian craft beers, and a list of hand-selected domestic & Italian wines.
"If your not in the mood for Pizza I wouldn't go here. The menu has creative salads, pizzas, and calzones. They showed us a new menu which will include Panini. It is a great place to go with a small group of friends. Parking is first come first serve. The restaurant is really easy to get to from 95 or downtown Baltimore."

"I REALLY love Verde and my family from DC was also very favorably impressed! New menu looks great. Olive appetizer is delicious and the mushroom calzone is my all-time favorite. Our server was very friendly but there were moments where service went a little slow (I think she may have been a little in the weeds - maybe they needed one more on the floor?) and there was also some confusion about who was attending our table....one other suggestion would be to watch the noise levels from kitchen radio & etc. Other than that, loved it just as much as ever and will definitely be back."

"Perfect weather and and perfect outside table, warm welcome, quick to bring a bottle of chilled white wine. The pizza has great mouthfeel, and very high quality ingrediants. It was simple, thin without being floppy, and delectable. Desert was perfectly acceptable, the imported gelati (dulche de leche) standing out over the flourless chocolate tort. We will be back."

"I have visited Verde several times and it never disappoints. Fun atmosphere, creative pizza's, and really nice owners that make everyone feel at home. The pistachio pizza is amazing, and every other pizza on the menu is really great. Next time I go I'm going to try the calzone!"

"Let me start by saying, I really wanted to like this place. It is right near our house, so we walked there for dinner on Sunday night. The food was excellent. We got the pear and walnut salad and then the bianca pizza with cherry tomatoes, burrata mozz and basil. It was so, so good. The bad part was the service. There was only one waiter working and he never came over. In fact, no one came to our table for a while. We had to flag down the waiter for waters and to order and then it took over 1 hour to get our pizzas and it was not that crowded. We were sitting right by the pizza making area and I was watching the guys stand around waiting to do something. He must have forgotten to put in our order..."

"We had an early dinner, the restaurant was very quiet, but we immediately felt that the staff was efficient and ready for any crowd. Our waitress was impeccable, and charming. Our sixteen year old son was smitten by the calzone. I won't dive into a lengthy description of each serving, suffice to say that the prosciutto, bresaola, olives and focaccia in our appetizer were perfect, and served in no time at all. Special mention goes to the homemade mozzarella, made daily using fresh bufala milk curds, simply the best mozzarella I've had since leaving Napoli, you should go just for that taste alone. My pizza was excellent, that's all."

"Excellent pizza! Fresh ingredients and the perfect crispy yet soft crust. The atmosphere is rustic chic. Try the Proscuitto de Parma! Service was excellent...very helpful. This may be the best Neopolitan style pizza in the city, except possibly Iggie's. If you are in the mood for deep dish Chicago style, go to Matthew's."

"We went on a Sunday for an early dinner. The room is comfortable and urban,The pizza and calzone we ordered were very good - (fairly thin crust if that's what you like )but the salad was nothing to speak of and tiramisu bland. Wine was good as was the Cappuccino. My only real concern in returning was that each item seems a couple of dollars too high and added up to a surprising bill for a pizza place."

"I went here for Mother's day brunch. I think it was the first time the restaurant was trying brunch dishes. The pizzas with eggs were delicious and I hope they keep them on the menu. They were very accomodating to our large group that included 2 small children. There was a minor issue with confusion in the kitchen and not getting the pizza we ordered (I think this was related to them trying the new brunch dishes and not being used to them in the kitchen), but the owner was more than accomodating and the pizza we did get was delicious. I loved the atmosphere, very charming decor. I will definitely come back."

"Got a last minute table on Sat night and were seated right away. Tables are way too close together. App w house made mozzarella and prosciutto was fantastic. Brughetta salad great and a big portion. Pizza was very good - a prosciutto with red sauce and a white pizza with arugula. Dinner for 4 w apps/dessert was less than $90 - so reasonable. Service could use some polishing. Our dishes were only partially cleared after each course - possibly because the guys couldn't reach the other side of our table without someone getting up from their chair. The waitress checked in frequently (as did the owner) but was so hard to hear and didn't offer refills until the end of the meal. we'll definitely be back and hopefully they'll work on the service."

"Positives: interesting wine choices, great desserts, cozy decor. It's the kind of place you could go by yourself with a book. Negatives: pizza was just not good at all. Crust had zero flavor. Sauce had zero flavor. Crust was also a bit chewy which was odd. Also got an appetizer---it was "meh." Service was okay but not great--bartender seemed annoyed and just trying to make it through the evening. The pizza at Chazz is way better. Was really hoping this would be our go-to place. Disappointed. Again, not horrible but not great."

"Previously Birches restaurant, the interior has received a facelift, retaining the classic look but lightening things up. It's very airy inside now. The food has always been freshly made and very flavorful, whether it be a salad, pizza or calzone. Drink options are decent and the space is comfortable. Try the outdoor seating."

"It was the best pizza I've had in Baltimore!!! It was a little sad because it was so empty, I hope it survives. I think the location makes it a little difficult. They may want to start offering delivery, even if just in downtown, to make it a little more visible/available. I just really want them to survive! Awesome pizza! Great atmosphere! Will definitely be back!"

"Everything was great. The hostess and server were kind and helpful. We later found out the owner is very helpful as well. We found out because we made a reservation for 6. When the first 2 of us arrived they sat us right away at our reserved table. The next 3 arrived very shortly after us and the hostess couldn't find the reservation. The owner was worried and quickly made a table for 6 at the front of the restaurant. I later called the rest of the group to find out they were already there. They must have take the reservation off the list when the first two arrived so that when the rest of the party arrived it looked like there was no reservation. Other than that small hiccup everything was great."

"I absolutely loved how the new owners renovated the former restaurant, Birches. I thought it was very charming and such a good use of the space. It felt so much more open. I cannot say I loved our service as our server seemed like he did not want to be there and was visibly annoyed with us although I do not think we were particularly needing and we did not complain once, but we did ask for things that should have been anticipated, i.e. olive oil and fresh ground black pepper. The food was good but not as good as I hoped. I found the focaccia bread to be very chewy and there wasn't enough to go with the burrata to be lacking in flavor. I would maybe suggest pairing something sweet with it like fig or apricot. The pizza was exceptional and th"

"Totally lovely space. Hits upscale and friendly neighborhood notes all at once.
Valet parking is a nice (and needed touch) as street parking is very limited. Their menu is tightly arranged and gratifyingly simple. We had an Italian lager that was incredible.
Salads are lightly dressed and scrumptious. Rustica comes with breseola which looks gorgeous atop the greens. Burrata comes out in a huge portion and is very fresh but doesn't have the knock-your-socks off richness you might be looking for. Pizzas are beautiful. We had one white (butternut cream, smoked moz, zucchini, red pepper, basil) and red (salsiccia and prosciutto?). Whatever you do, go for the offerings with smoked moz. Woodsy, smokey, divine."

"Delicious pizzas, with tons of varieties to chose from. As a party of 6, no one got the same dish and we all were happy to ecstatic with our choices--very fresh and many unusual and interesting combinations. Also, the service was excellent and very friendly and engaged, without appearing to hover. Overall a wonderful experience and great addition to the neighborhood."

"I love Verde. Came once before and thought it was SO nicely transformed from former Birches. Owner was VERY friendly and enthusiastic and we enjoyed chatting with him and learning about their renovations, pizza oven, etc. This time I took my husband who is a BIG FAN of DC's Two Amy's Neapolitan pizza. I hoped he would love Verde's pizza just as much but he said it lacked something - maybe not enough olive oil on the dough somehow? I, for one, ADORE their calzones and that's what I'll keep going for. Our server was very efficient and attentive - they have GREAT staff and that's what truly makes it worth going back again.....wish it were closer to us in Mount Vernon but we will take the trip and visit again. Thanks!"

"Love atmosphere. Good salad with nice light dressing. Wanted to Love the rest but we did not. Spent about the same the weekend before at another place & left wanting more so we used that as a standard. Red sauce on my pizza was bland, supposed wild mushrooms (I even asked before ordering) were criminis. Had to douse pizza in chili infused olive oil (nice) to get a bit of flavor. Service support was over enthusiastic--tried to take my salad plate before I finished simply because my friend was finished. So he kept a few crusts on his plate since he ate faster than I did; we were seated after 9 so they didn't need the table. Friend had salami pizza & it was more flavorful. 2 small pizzas 1 salad 1 ice cream 2 beers & wine = nearly 100"

"Great little freshly made artisan type pizzas and salads. All of the food was great. Our only complaint was how small the dining space was. I was so jammed in my knees started aching. I wish they would remove one table or reconfigure because otherwise the atmosphere is really lovely. We will definitely go back, just may sit at the bar."

"Amazing food and even better service! I ordered a pizza and due to the ingredients in it (pistachios) it usually causes the pizza to burn quicker than normal. When they brought it out they offered to make a new one if I thought it was too burnt, but I thought it was fine and went ahead and started chowing down. By the time I got through my first slice they were bringing out another pizza for me because they weren't pleased with how it looked. It was nice to see them take so much pride in their food and I was able to have great leftovers - for the cost of 1!"

"I went to Verde for the first time with 5 friends. We sat at the bar while waiting for our table. The bartender was very knowledgeable and friendly and they had a great beer list including local and microbreweries. We had a very hard time deciding which pizzas to order because there were so many yummy choices. They split the menu into red and white pizzas to make it a little easier. I chose a mushroom white pizza and two of my friends got the pistachio pesto pizza. The pizzas were all delicious: fresh toppings, tender wood-fired crust. Topping dinner off with the tiramisu was an excellent choice. At the end of our meal the proprietor came to our table and asked us how everything was. Overall, we were very impressed! We'll be back."
