"I had dinner at Escena recently. The atmosphere and environment are great, as is the service. Unfortunately the bread was from the microwave (previously frozen), the mushroom soup was absolutely loaded with salt, as was the seared chicken breast, which also arrived tough and dried out, as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. Dessert - a chocolate lava cake, was OK.
Service was very good, and the restaurant itself is beautiful, with great views of the mountains.
Unfortunately, the disappointing food trumps everything else."

"Great view from the terrace. Went for brunch. Food? Well, let's just say it's secondary to the view and setting. The food is standard, average, brunch fare. My French toast was was OK and I had to return the overcooked (very hard) scrambled eggs for sunny-side over. My companion had an overcooked (hard) omelet along with some soggy bread that was supposed to be toast. Service? OK. Efficient; though, it was clear the scrambled eggs were not as ordered. Go for the view. The food doesn't measure up to the setting."

"There is a big problem with the service here. Twice we asked one of wait staff for something, and each time were told: “I’ll get that right for you" and they never did. After a prolonged period of being ignored, I went to the hostess station and asked if the manager was available. Hostess went to get them, but after standing there for several minutes, I returned to our table. Finally, when we were pretty much done with our meal the waitress finally comes by to ask how things are. I told her they were not at all satisfactory as we have made three attempts to get someone to take care of our requests, and she was MIA until now. I will give them credit; they did not charge us for the entire meal."

"On my first visit, Escena Lounge and Grill exceeded expectations in every way. Food delicious, scenic view magnificent (as if golf course and mountains aren't enough, you also get to watch planes taking off from P.S. Airport), and best of all: friendly, efficient service. Casual, comfortable atmosphere. The rest of our party was 40 minutes late. Wait staff couldn't have been more hang-loose and cool about it, even making jokes about joining us if our group didn't show. Tournedos of beef fabulous, best asparagus I've ever had.
Hidden gem. I can hardly wait to go back."

"We found this spot using open table. The setting outside overlooking an incredibly beautiful golf course where you can see nothing other than the course and the mountains to the south was great. One has to remember this is a golf course club house restaurant. The girls ordered a cosmo martini. Almost undrinkable with way too much vermouth. My wife then requested orange flavored vodka, she ended up with a screwdriver. We ordered a number of appies that were all good however as we sat there watching the sun go down and enjoying our drinks the staff was totally gone for 20 minutes. When they came back and took drink orders again they left all the empty plates. In all a nice evening but could have been great with better staff training"

"The highlight of these golf course restaurant is the stunning view over the green fairway to the monumental San Jacinto Mountains just a few miles away. The outdoor seating is perfect for the desert climate with overhead shelter from the sun, bubbling water, and no visual obstructions.

Escena is a popular restaurant in Palm Springs, inviting guests to the scenic mountain views --whether dining indoors or outdoors. Food is fantastic...try the bar menu during the 3-7 pm Happy Hour. Our bartender ALFONSO make us feel welcome and made us great drinks plus serving us our appetizers: oysters on a half shell (6 for $11), smoked pork ribs (2nice pieces for $9) and chicken wings for $8)....we were all satisfied and very happy.

"This has been a great place to eat at lunch for some time. Please don't make the mistake of going for dinner. Diner food, and short order cooking for scrambled eggs are ok. To put a 24 dollar price on an entree in a kitchen that provides a Denny's cook does NOT justify a fine dining experience. The Cesar salad was drown in a kilo of dressing and when I asked for the missing grilled chicken, it was brought back to the table with a nice airport box portion of chicken cubes cold as the salad. A third request for grilled chicken resulted in an under cooked pan fried tiny chick breast from an impoverished chicken farm. That salad was 19 dollars and served only after everyone had eaten whatever else the cook hadn't ruined."

"Escena used to be one of my favorite restaurants in town- it has one of the best patios and views in all of Palm Springs. The food used to be really good, nicely presented. The service has never been 100% wonderful.
Lately, though, not only the service, but the food has gone down hill. Its the equivalent of eating at like a Holiday Inn hotel restaurant. Twice now, I've ordered food, that was still frozen. You could be sitting on the patio waiting for cocktail service for at least a half hour- They have gluten free items on the menu, that aren't really gluten free.

"Our service was horrible. We sat there for 15 - 20 minutes without anyone helping us. We finally had to ask someone to help us. Once we were helped the service was fine. I'll give them one more try and see how it goes. If it's bad service again I will never go and not refer to anyone. Sorry but thought you should know"

"The location is amazing! If it wasn't for the view I wouldn't come back. The service was poor and they were not attentive. Basically by the end of your meal you have every dish that used throught your dinner at you table. We had to ask to have appetizer plates and salad plates cleared. For the amount of people dining on the patio there was not enough service help."
