"My friend & I enjoyed the chicken thigh sandwich and the beef tacos at lunch. I was surprised the chicken was spicier than the tacos! Very good - the tacos are tiny and would be a perfect appetizer for 3 people but it wasn't quite enough for a meal. The rice pudding was very good if you want a more savory dessert - there was plenty of chocolate and it was a big dish! Beautiful and delicious."

"Very good food. Very good menu. We did have a problem with the service however. Not that they were unattentive... just the opposite. We felt quite rushed. Serving plates were removed from our table with food still on them. We weren't asked if we were finished. A place like this, that encourages "tastings" as opposed to ordering one large meal, should provide a more laid back eating experience. The tastes were wonderful and complex. We would have liked the experience to last longer. As I've indicated, I still very much recomend this spot. Everybody just needs to calm down."

"The food is outstanding, love the flavor, love the flair, love the fact they put a twist on all items. I have now dinned there four times. Service must get better as it is very slow. We set up early dinner just to avoid rush, we did but service still fair at best. Forgot our sushi, but made up with free desert. Waited 15 mins for second drink order, second drink did not come until after dinner!
If the food was not so good I would be on the fence about returning, but as it is great will be back!!!"

"Tried this 10-week old upscale restaurant located at Randhurst. They have small plates, salads, entrees and sushi. Started with tempura battered shrimp. Delicious & right amount of crunch. Steak taco served atop a long marrow bone which was cooked perfectly, tomato. 4 sm tortillas; a bit skimpy on the steak-delicious flavors. Smoked scallops w/smoked grape tomatoes atop a creamy, delicious sauce. California roll. Duck hash w/fried egg. Some nice big chunks of duck. Everything beautifully presented. Shared red velvet cake w/vanilla ice cream. Not special but good. Next time I think we'll try the chocolate rice pudding. Excellent service (including the bus boy). We're looking forward to our next visit. Beautiful location."

"The food was delicious, with lots of unique flavor & ingredient combinations. Very "gourmet". We were celebrating a birthday, and received complimentary dessert, which we appreciated. It's definitely pricey for a mall restaurant...portions were very small for the price. Be prepared to spend, or leave a little hungry."

"I made reservations to go there for Mothers Day. I specifically asked if they had a special menu for that day. The person on the phone said that they will have some lunch and brunch items. When we got there, it was a buffet, FOR $30 PER PERSON! Totally ridiculous! Such a huge disappointment. Will not be going back and not recommending this place."

"I so wanted to love this restaurant but it failed on all food and drink levels. We began with a Procecco that arrived room temp to slightly cool. This should never happen. The appetizers were below par with a dumpling that was more like a slightly warm pasta dough with marinara sauce. The main shrimp course was drenched in an egg batter that was more like a warm wet egg coating. the brussels sprouts appetizer was the saving grace. We dined on Mother's Day so I can only hope that the crowded restaurant created a problem for the kitchen. We cannot,sadly, cannot give E&O a good rating."

"My wife and I visited this restaurant on Mother's Day at 5:30. We had reservations and were seated promptly. We ordered off the fixed price menu. The server was good but the service was extremely slow. Our server had to apologize many times for the slow service. Appetizer plates were good. We especially liked the kale salad. Main courses were mixed. My wife had a skirt steak which she really loved. I had a pot roast dish. The meat was good but the sauce it was served with had absolutely no flavor at all. Dessert was good, red lava cake and ice cream. All in all a little disappointing. We will probably try again on a less busy day as friends of ours rave about this place and we understand special event days can be atypical."

"I would classify this as an "Experience Restaurant". I am glad to have experienced it. However, I was not impressed. I ordered an alcoholic beverage, a small plate, soup and an entree. The Clam Chowder soup was fantastic, but everything else was merely OK. Additionally, the service was also somewhat lacking. I dined with two other friends and they were also not impressed. They ordered similarly to my order, but instead of soup, they shared a "kale" salad. The "kale" salad was the only food item they thought was worth recommending. I would not recommend this restaurant to my friends."

"We took a friend out for a birthday lunch and while the appetizers and salads were very good, we received no help from the server. It seemed like it was her first day - her recommendations were barely there and she wasn't really in tune with our birthday dessert, limited time table or wine recommendations. I hope to go back for dinner as I've heard great things about the menu and night life there. Since my husband and I enjoy "Sunda" in the city, I was hoping this would be a good substitute!"

"We loved this restaurant for the great food and modern looks. It's very nice that now we have a city style restaurant in the suburbs. My only disappointment about this place is that we had reservations but waited over 45 min for our table. Also our waitress kept forgetting to place some of our orders. Other than that everything else we loved and will def come back."

"My shrimp tacos were delicious, but the tortillas used were miniature. Regular sized tortillas (with the same amount of filling) would have been much better. This entree looked more like and appetizer. My sushi roll was delicious. My dining partner's chicken in her chicken sandwich was so dry she could hardly eat it. After our meal, she told the waiter to tell the chef so that it would not happen to someone else, and the chef agreed that is was dry and graciously took the sandwich cost off her bill. The decor was very nice. Our waiter was good."

"E+O is a welcome addition to the Arlington Heights neighborhood! Food was outstanding and creative. Especially enjoyed the tapas selections. Service was slow, but I attribute that to several young servers who likely are new to the restaurant world. Although slow at times, everyone was very helpful. After ordering our entrees, we were told that things are made fresh so they usually don't come out together. For a restaurant of this type that's really more a sign of an unorganized kitchen. I hope that this will be resolved over time. Still recommend going!"

"I was very disappointed in E&O. I had been looking forward to it and it did not meet any of my expectations. The atmosphere was nice, but other than that it was a bad experience. Our waitress was rude and ignored our table the entire time. She came by twice while tending to other tables regularly, we had to flag her over for our drink order and also to check on where the drinks were. We were so frustrated after an hour and a half of watching other people eat. Would not recommend it."

"We arrive 10 minutes early for our reservation and were seated almost 2 hours late. Then, when the main course came, 3 out of 4 dishes were served. The 4th arrived as the busboys were clearing the first 3 dished that were served. The remaining member of our group then had to eat her meal while we watch."

"We love E & O, this was our second visit and we will be back! Each dish we shared was delicious and fun to try, it was a food adventure for us. The service is great too. It felt like we were downtown in the city, yet only a few miles from home. Thank you E & O for venturing to the suburbs...you won't regret it. So many of us love great dining experiences and don't want to go downtown to find them."

"E+O food and drink had been recommended to me and after perusing the menu online I was excited to try it. I was not disappointed. The food was spectacular. The service was great. Our server and busboy were eager to help and explain the dishes. Which is nice when the the food is eclectic such as this.
It was a little pricey but I thought completely worth it. The 2 of us shared 2 small plates, we each had soup, a cocktail and an entree for $100 plus tip. So, not outrageous but I will keep my eyes open for coupons for next time :)
Do not let the prices or eccentric menu deter you - this place is terrific and I can't wait to go back!!!"

"We chose to select multiple little plates for our first visit. While the sea scallops were divine, $15 for two scallops is a little pricey. The brussels sprout "slaw" is also an excellent choice. Avoid the chocolate rice pudding, it was a cold, soupy chocolate mess without much flavor. The molten red velvet cake is a much better choice. There was a problem with the internet and our bill took quite a while to process. The manager bought us a drink while we waited."

"Wow. I was very impressed on all fronts. My wife and I stuck to the small plates and shared a dessert. Everything was wonderful. The small plates were not too small (2 would make an entree sized offering for sure) and each dish was perfectly prepared and each had a an extra dash of flavor, texture or visual appeal that was perfect in completing the dish. Noise level was moderate but the place was packed by the time we left. Attractive bar scene. I look forward to returning."

"I was in the restaurant business for over 12 years as both a server and a manager. E+O scored high points with me for food and service. From a food stand point, it was an eclectic menu with fresh ingredients and interesting combinations. The appetizers (shrimp in a spicy sauce and a brussels sprout & kale combo) that blew me away with their flavor and ended up having another appetizer (crab cake) and small salad (Kale - dressing a little too sweet) for my entree. Delicious! The manager brought a complimentary dish of pasta which was a nice welcoming touch, but not quite as delicious as the appetizers we had. Coffee was nice and strong, but the carrot cake was just OK. Service was exceptional! Knowledgeable + helpful."

"Wonderful brunch for a great price. This was Easter brunch and it wasn't your typical carving table, omelet station brunch. There were eggs and sausage to satisfy the usual brunch crowd but then there was sushi and a benedict bar. You made your own mimosa with a variety of juices or you could enhance your bloody mary from a bloody mary bar. Everything was fresh and flavorful. We will be back to try out the dinner menu. Dinner looks to be a bit more expensive but I think it will be worth it. Had a great meal"

"I went there for Easter brunch. The food was delicious and I loved the atmosphere and energy of the place. The service was good - but could have been better. Our waitress was extremely nice, however, she never offered us another drink after we had finished the one mimosa that came with brunch. Also, the ambiance was great but we were seated in the backroom, which took away from the experience a little. All and all, it was a very good experience and I will definitely go back."
