Steinhaus German Restaurant
Steinhaus German Restaurant prides itself on not being "just another German beer hall." Owners Detlef and Karen Koeppe have created a completely unique environment. Their main focus is to produce Authentic German Cuisine as well as a fine selection of American Prime Steaks and Chops. They also offer a Chef's Choice Menu in the main restaurant and an Owner's Table in the kitchen should guests want a dining experience created just for them by Chef Tommy Malone. Sunday German Brunch is also becoming a very popular dining option as well as the outdoor Beer Garden. Steinhaus is bringing the real taste of Germany to the Greater Cincinnati area by creating an environment where food, service and atmosphere are the top priorities.

"Been there many times over the last months and I think the food, especially the ingredients are getting worse. Recommended the restaurant to friends before but won't do that anymore. I don't know what changes they made over the last few months but they made some bad decisions.
Won't see me again for a while."

"We had the most amazing experience for the Mother's Day brunch. Steinhaus was top notch in service, in food, in everything they did. The food was the absolutely fantastic. The owners came around to greet everyone and wish the Moms Happy Mothers Day. The brunch had all the German authetic food as well as gourmet desserts. What a great experience!"

"If you are looking for authentic German cuisine, this is the place! This was our first visit to this great restaurant, but it will definitely not be our last. There is outdoor dining on the patio when the weather permits, a large wine list and several authentic German brews. The food was outstanding and the service very personal. Overall a great experience."

"I booked dinner at Steinhaus because it was so highly rated on OpenTable. The food quality was outstanding. Moreover, the service matched the food. Our waitress was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the menu and was attentive to our needs throughout our meal. That being said, the portions are outrageously large. We were on vacation when we ate here and could not take leftovers. It was criminal that we had to send over half of what we ordered back to the kitchen to be thrown out. The portions are simply too big. If you are local, on the other hand, I suppose you can justify it by dividing your check by however many meals you will get out of the gigantic portions they bring to you."

"Food was good. A little pricy but the portions are 'more than generous'.
Our server was very friendly and attentive the whole evening. There was live entertainment on Saturday night, which consisted of a couple guys playing guitar and singing. They did a number of Vince Gill songs which was very nice as my wife is a big Vince Gill fan!!

"I had been wanting to try this place for awhile but were never in the neighborhood. The restaurant is impeccably clean and the service and drink selection is fantastic. "Steinhaus is a very different place to enjoy German food than its competition in Cincinnati, Newport and Northern Kentucky. Steinhaus is quite elegant. The modern decor, highly trained and professional staff as well as separate tables for 2-4 people distinguish it from Hofbrau House and others. The list of German beers and wines is good. The service has always been professional. It is more expensive than other German places in the area, but Steinhaus aims to please the foodie and professional diner. They do have a large "common table" for diners to share, or for a big family gathering. It does have a full bar. Steinhaus has an area to add outdoor dining this summer. Reservations are needed on weekends."

"My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this place randomly. The emphasis is on service and we felt like we were in a 5 star restaurant. We eat out a lot and know what we are looking for in a good restaurant. Stein Haus has gone ALL IN. The place was dressed up with granite tables and rounded booths. A big open room had the bigger tables while the "front room" seemed a bit more intimate. The band was appropriate and excellent (I am a musician and that is hard to pull off). The service was that of 5 star dining and the food was amazing. I will not hesitate to take many friends and family there. Ryan, the waiter, did an excellent job and was not pushy. Very authentic, delicious, and affordable."

"This was our first visit and we had a leisurely and very enjoyable German style dinner. Everything we ordered was very tasty, deeply flavored and also generously portioned, and I was pleasantly surprised that each course actually surpassed my expectations. In particular I liked the goulash which was hearty and simply delicious on a cold evening, and the dense poppy seed cake which had a unique and delicious flavor and texture. The atmosphere has a modern upscale flair to it but was unpretentious, calm and relaxing, which is perfect for quiet conversation and fully enjoying the flavors. There was live music in the evening, which was not too loud or intrusive, so table conversations could still be had. I am looking forward to another visit!"

"This was an excellent find. I'm always on the hunt for great new restaurants and I don't have one complaint about this one. Our waitress and the manager were fantastic. The waitress always had a smile on her face and was friendly. The manager would walk the restaurant and would check to see if you were satisfied. He was also very friendly. Both of them would answer our explain any question you had. Now to the food, COME HUNGRY. The food was excellent, very large portions, and the price was spot on. My wife and I liked it so much that we were telling people about it the next day and planning a group outing. The only thing that i would say that might be a slight negative would be that the outside does not do it justice. Highly recommend this"
