Michener's

Michener’s Restaurant was named for the internationally renowned fiction writer, James A. Michener. His work “Chesapeake”, was a historical saga of our land and people, portraying the American spirit and life on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, where he vacationed and worked.

Family owned and operated for nearly 25 years, Michener’s has been serving the local community with its Chesapeake Bay inspired menu. Our culinary team headed up by Baltimore native Executive Chef Dennis Kuruly, only uses the freshest ingredients available and according to the locals “prepares the best crab cake in town”.

"Michener's is a quiet oasis in the midst of BWI airport. Parking is free and plentiful, the crabcake sandwiches my wife and I had were excellent and the cream of crab soup was superb. It had lumps of backfin crab in it as well as aw touch of sherry. The crabcakes were all backfin lump crab meat with no filler or shell. The service was frriendly and efficient without being intrusive. The manager checked to see how thingsp were going. He also said good night to us and said he hoped we would come back. The next time I have to pick up someone at BWI around lunch or dinner time, I will. Ditto my wife. The restaurant is in The Sheraton, five minutes from the main terminal. Michener's also has a separate bar adjacent bar which looked comfortable."
