"First time we sat hibachi. We usually have a table. Hibachi food was very good and cooked right to order. Also has sushi rolls which once again were great!
We look forward to our visits knowing that unlike some other places we have dined, the food here is always served freshly prepared , HOT and always has it's own unique and delicious flavor. (At some other places the food strangely all seems to taste the same)
We have never had service that was not very, very good. The staff is top notch."

"Overall, I think DAO is a pretty good place to go, but it hasn't impressed me as much as others. I think the food is pretty consistent, but nothing extraordinary. On the sushi side, I'm more of a "traditionalist" -- so I don't go for gimmicky sounding rolls or combinations. That said, the sushi is pretty good.
I definitely enjoy going to DAO, but food is not too much different from other places."

"This was not my first time at Dao but it will be my last. Our waitress was clearly bored to be at work, she didn't even make eye contact with us, we gave our order to her by just going around the table. My daughter ordered sushi and a hot entree, our waitress brought the entree first and we had to remind her of the sushi order. We had to get up twice to look for the waitress, once when we needed our check and once when we needed takeout containers. We had to go to the hostess to get both, our waitress was nowhere to be found. Very disappointing, we went there to celebrate Mothers Day and my daughters graduation from College. The food was good but the bad service ruined the experience."

"I already have recommended DAO Sushi. This was a great find for me. The food was fantastic!!! The portions were large. Our server was great and made some great recommendations. The sushi was extremely fresh and full of flavor. It's great to have another excellent Sushi restaurant in the south suburbs."

Great green tea ice cream which used to be very hard time. I first had in 1970 in Japan and did not find in Chicago area until a few years ago. Save room for dessert!"

"This was an early evening (5.30) business meal at the hibachi grill and the restaurant was quiet. The chef was good as was the food. The service was very poor however. For example my two business guests had asked for boiled rice with their dinner and it never came. I had to get up to speak to someone in the kitchen in order to get service. One of my guests had Celiac disease and neither the Maitre d' , the server, or the chef gave us any confidence they knew what foods had to be avoided. Overall this was a disappointing experience."

"It was our first and only visit. The music was horrible - loud and whiny. The service was slow and sushi rolls were bland. The chicken teriyaki was horrible...the sauce was thrown on after the chicken was cooked, and not cooked together. The restaurant was not at all busy. We will take out business to the sushi restaurant across the street."
