At Bluebird Tavern our inventive New England Style cuisine is centered on farm fresh Vermont ingredients in a casual but elegant setting. Founded in 2009, Bluebird Tavern has been recognized by Bon Appetit Magazine, Food & Wine Magazine, and by the James Beard Foundation. Located in the heart of downtown Burlington, one block off of the Church St Marketplace, Bluebird Tavern offers a large bar area, open kitchen, chef's table, and an intimate dining room. Our cuisine is centered New England classics with a French and Italian influence. Fresh seafood straight from the docks in Boston, hand made pastas, and traditional tavern offerings such as our double burger are anchors of the Bluebird Tavern menu.
"Our server was fantastic - on top of everything and knew the menu, including wines. We took advantage of the Burlington restaurant week. Both of our dishes were good and eating outdoors on the street made for a wonderful evening."

"I had a sausage and bacon entree but the bacon seemed more like to slices of very dry pork loin. If I remember correctly the meat was in a sort of bean cassoulet which was tasty and the sausage was pretty good. The clam chowder with potatoes soup was kind of bland. The meal in general was very disappointing since I went there specifically for the food."

"Great service, delicious, inventive menu - great place. IT was a wonderful evening, except for one thing....if only it weren't quite so noisy! The cement floor and bare walls give it an oddly cold feeling that bounces sound all around. A good place to go with friends and enjoy some great cuisine, though."

"We loved our meal - especially the oysters! Very inventive choices on the menu. I had the lobster with strozzapreti with morels and almonds - yum. My husband had the smoked chicken pie - wonderful. The only fault we found was that our waiter did not tell us about the specials. We heard them after-the-fact from a waiter at the next table. He also never asked us if we wanted dessert."

"Brunch is only a Sunday option and it was amazing. Most places in Burlington have hour waits for brunch on a weekend but I dont think people realize bluebird tavern does brunch so no wait and amazing food! A great option for when you want good food but not to wait forever. Also they give you little muffins once you order while you wait for your food too cute and delicious. Super helpful waitress too!"

"Great food and our server was fabulous. We were seated at a small table (wedged between 2 other parties). We asked to be moved to the bar area, and they eagerly obliged. Perfect evening - oysters and lamb burger were fantastic (and the martinis - perfect)!"

"The food was very good. I had the Flat Iron Steak and it had a taste of lamb to it . Did not consider it a value because of the small portion to price ratio. Oysters were excelent. Cocktail was very good. I had a Manhatten it came with a sidecar with the extra drink in it and the cherry was delish. Wifes meal was outstanding/ however they did not have Sapphire gin. :("
