"We enjoyed our dinners but because there was only one server and five large party tables outside, the service was pretty slow. Luckily we were relaxed and the temperature outside was pleasant. The ribs were excellent and our party also had the whitefish, shrimp and the ravioli (vegetarian). Would be nice to have one or two more vegetarian dishes as the menu is very extensive but all but one entree contain meat."

"I have been visiting Milrose for 20+ years, for all types of reasons from company dinners to lunch to company holiday parties to anniversary dinners, which is why my wife and I were there on 5/18.
My disappointments....
- Milrose is no longer a micro-brewery - The sauce used for the ribs was changed and is now terrible - Overall food taste and quality were not too good (far below the excellence over the years we have been going there) - I added a note in my Open Table reservation to indicate that we were celebrating our anniversary, and in years past, they recognized it with personalized menus and a dessert. On 5/18, there was no recognition of our anniversary at all.
I very well may never visit Milrose again."

"Brunch about 5 years ago was not very good at Millrose. So we voted with our feet and found other destinations with more generous buffets, better desserts tables, etc. On an impulse we returned for Mother's Day (risky for so many reasons with extended family) and all 3 generations attending were delighted with the excellent food, service, and ambiance. Our server was so pleasant and professional, and kept returning to our table. We'll be back again soon, trusting that the dining on Sunday mornings will be excellent. BTW, the valet service was excellent as well."

"We went to dinner here on mother's day. It was busy, but we were promptly seated. They had run out of normal sized glasses, so we were given small glasses. The servers did not keep up with keeping our glasses filled. They ran out of mashed potatoes, and instead of informing us just substituted another side without asking us what we wanted. My prime rib was over cooked, tough, and bland. We did really enjoy our appetizer sample. Overall the food and service was not nearly as good as it had been on prior visits."

"This was out first time at Millrose and, sadly, it will be our last. The food was very good, but the service was so horrible that even the most phenomenal cuisine wouldn't have made up for it. Our reservation was for 7:15, and we were not seated until 7:40. We had to fill up on bread because it took until 8:10 for our appetizers to arrive, and then our entree was not served until 8:45. In short, from the time of our reservation to the time our main course arrived, we had to wait 1-1/2 hours. It was a very disappointing experience, particularly since we had invited out-of-town guests."

"Some old time favorites not found everywhere - lots of choices. Outdoor area looks great for drinking & dining during nice weather. Only critical comment would be that the service seems a bit slow; however, it seems that all items are cooked fresh and are worth the wait. It also makes for a low-pressure experience of not feeling rushed to eat and move on!"

"Was a little upset when the server realized that we had kids in our party and the service was slow. I was upset I wasn't offered a wine list and we had 2 adult menues for three adults and one child menu for 2 children and was promised to have more printed and that never happened. I am not sure when we will return because I am not a fan of people shunning my kids but I am hoping that when we do, it is better service. We spent $150.00 and that includes tip"

"Food was average for the above average price. I took the servers recommendation on my meal which I regret. I don't like trashing places after one visit so I would go again to see if it was just a fluke."

"I took my father here, when I ordered my prime rib with a baked potato I was told by our waitress that is all I will get, I would not get any vegetable since I chose the potato! The prime rib came out with just a baked potato, no horseradish sauce or anything, The waitress was never seen again since taking our order and presenting us with the check at the end. Very disapointed."

"Millrose is a consistently fine dining experience. They are changing their hours to become a supper club. No lunch or brunch anymore (at least for the summer season). Good food, great service, very friendly and accommodating."

"We had reservations but still had to wait. There was no place to sit and I am disabled. It took half an hour for the waitress" To come to our table only to tell us that it would be another half hour if we wanted prime rib. In the meantime waiters kept trying to give us other customers orders. When food arrived it was cold and bland. They could not accommodate our gluten free order even though they said they could on the website. To top it off when we went to pay she said there was a problem with our card. Turns out it was their system. Very embarrassing. We paid an exorbitant price for this ordeal. We will not return."

"I have been to Millrose in the past for special occasions as well as Sunday Brunch and was very impressed. However, I feel the food available for the steep price on Easter was less than adequate. Breakfast entrees, turkey and carved meats?? Very few dessert options as well. Our reservation was for 10:30, so it is not likely that they ran out of any other food options. I was embarrassed, after having talked about the brunch so highly to others in our party. I was very disappointed."

"We deliberately made our reservation for 6 people on Sat. at 5:00 because we wanted a quiet dinner. We asked for a downstair table for elderly and the stuck us way in the back at a round table pushed up against a pillar. I was leaning on it all through the meal because we couldnt move the table back and over or the waitress couldn't get through to the other table. It was aweful and very loud. The food was good but average in comparison to other top dining and the service was wonderful."

"Nice dinner. There was something on the menu for everyone. Wine pours were ample. Appetizers seemed a bit small. Overall though everyone enjoyed their meals and we had a very comfortable dinner. I'd go back."

"Hadn't been to Milrose in quite awhile. The service was slow, the food was good but the price was very high especially for the size of the portions. I won't be back. Too many better options in the NW suburbs."

"Overall atmosphere and food were giid. I had the Mahi Mahi and it was delicious but the portion was as small as I have ever seen. It was a nice nite out but nothing to write home about. I'll probably go back but but it is not at the "top of my list". I would not be enthusiastic about recommending it to friends."

"We had dinner at 5:15 and wasn't too crowded but by the time we were leaving at 6:30 it was getting very crowded. I had the ribs which were good and always. My husband got the special of filet and lobster tail. The filet was great as always but the lobster tail was not. My husband said it was one of the worst he had ever had. Now he knows to just stick with the food that had always been good and not try something else."

"I would not recommend this restaurant for any occasion. We went there for Valentine's Day, and we were stuck in the make-shift banquet room, with poor lighting, awkward 'slow jams' and awful food! The only plus about our experience was our server, she was very sweet and attentive. I have never been here, and can't see myself ever going back for a meal. Maybe a beer on the patio in the summer? Other than that, NO!"

"It's great to be able to reserve a table here. Otherwise the wait for people walking in was an hour on Saturday night. It's a pleasant, interesting atmosphere. Pretty noisy with large groups celebrating birthdays, etc., but after those tables left, it became more sedate. Great food!! The pecan crusted walleye was superb.
We were not in a hurry, so it worked out fine. But the service was very slow that evening. Perhaps because of all the larger groups. Our server was attentive to our needs, but she obviously had too many tables. She did a great job considering everything she had to do. She never appeared rushed or harried, and carried herself with professionalism."

"What fun! First experience here, food was excellent and our waitperson was honest and candid about menu items and led us in a great direction. Timing of the meal was very good, and a special request was not followed, noted immediately by our waitperson and corrected within moments. Will return and plan to bring a business group as it is very conducive to dinner meetings."

"Millrose offers a wide selection of meats which they actually bring to the table to show you. I had a 10oz sirloin that was very nicely prepared, they were flexible with substituting the vegatable side. My wife had Grouper which she says was delicious."

"We picked Mill Rose based on it's location, a mid point between us and the couple we were meeting. The ambiance at Mill Rose is wonderful. Indoor and outdoor fireplaces going, a great bar set apart from the dining rooms. You do feel like your in a cozy, warm atmosphere despite the size of the restaurant. We ordered the calamari for a starter and that was good, not the best I've had but acceptable. The men ordered the prime rib and both really enjoyed the generous serving. The women ordered walleye, which is my favorite fish. The waitress said it was fresh and one of their more popular entrees. It was very disappointing, mushy and the pecan topping did nothing to enhance it. The dessert was flat and tasted about two days old."
