Core de Roma Trattoria is a casual, intimate, family owned Trattoria, offering authentic Roman cuisine while upholding the best of Roman tradition. Some examples of our mouth watering Roman delicacies include our signature Artichokes alla Core de Roma, Saltimbocca, and Bucatini alla Matriciana. Contrary to what some people say, we spelled our name as "Core de Roma" intentionally, meaning "The Heart of Rome" in our family's dialect. Our ultimate goal is to make all of our customers feel like family through our cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and home-made dishes. At Core de Roma you can expect the true heart of Rome in the heart of Philly.
"I have been to Core de Roma at least five times since it opened, and I have never been disappointed. The food, prices and service are all very good, and the home made gnocchi is excellent. The only negative I can recall was the noise level on a Saturday night. My wife and I love to dine there mid -week, and since it's a BYOB, the cost is nominal. Kudos to the owner for bringing this fine restaurant to West Chester."

"Want an excellent Italian meal and feel as if your patronage matters? Try Core de Roma, a neighborhood BYOB with reasonable prices. Fine, authentic Northern Italian cuisine with an attentive staff and an owner who welcomes both regulars and first timers alike, as if he has known you for years."

"We visited this cute little Trattoria last evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was a busy night and it got a little noisy, but other than that the atmosphere was very nice. Our server was very personable and took great time and care with us.
We will most definitely return to Core de Roma in the future."

"After hearing that Core de Roma was a good place for Italian food we took a chance. The food was bland at best, both our dinners left a lot to be desired. The food was priced fair but that is all I can say was fair."

"First time - friend had told us about this great place! They were right - food was wonderful .... just like in Rome. Artichokes were wonderful and filling. Pasta was just what the doctor ordered and the seafood was fresh! Would definitely recommend - it's a keeper!"

"Small family run restaurant. The pasta is all home made and very good. The lasagna is amazing, so light and smoky tasting. I highly recommend it. Also try the artichoke appetizer. It's excellent too. Definitely coming back."

"We were seated promptly but service was irregular throughout the meal. Tables way too close together and very small. The food was just okay- my pasta still too hard as was my husbands. Another of our dinner companions had the fettucini alfredo and said I could make this at home. His wife did have the special lobster stuffed ravioli- she said they were great. We will not be in any hurry to return. We brought wine with us but one person said they wanted to order a beer. Web site said wine was okay to bring but everything else could be purchased at restaurant, when this was mentioned to our server she told us that is the web site for the phila restaurant. Where's the West Chester website?????"

"EXCELLENT food. It was our first time, but will not be the last. I've found my "new" favorite Italian restaurant in West Chester. The owner, Gigi, treated us like he's known us for years and our server was attentive, but not overbearing."

"We had a group of 6 for our first visit to Core de Roma and were very satisfied with the experience. The attention of the manager and servers were top-notch, the food choices were great, and we were made to feel comfortably at home. Our entrees were varied, but all were enjoyable. I was particularly happy with my veal chop! We all agreed that we will be back for another visit. A fine start for a "new restaurant in town," especially since at least 3 other places within a 1/4 mile compete directly with Core de Roma in food and decor."

"Excellent, authentic pastas. It does get so crowded, though, that your chair gets jostled frequently, ruining an otherwise great dining experience. The large groups, in particular, have no consideration for other diners."

"We were so pleased to find Core de Roma in West Chester, having been to it several times in South Street, Phila. The menu is great. We had the artichokes and risotto balls to start, followed by Puttanesca, Pollo Prima Vera and Rigatoni alla Boscaiola - all great. It was packed - on a Tuesday evening - so reservations are advisable. It was a little noisy with several large family groups and unruly children (kids are not the restaurant's fault), so the owner came around and apologized and said he was working on minimizing sound travelling around the room. But, it had a great, warm atmoshpere, so the noise was not so bad. We will definitely be back again soon!"

"Felt that everything went very well. Food was great.. had the Veal Chop stuffed with cheese and mushrooms. The rest of the table really enjoyed their meal as well. We had a waitress by the name of Rita...AWESOME! Ask for her when you go...shes a riot and on top of all your needs! Small place tucked in by the Poilce Department in W.C. Will be back and very soon."

"Core de Roma is a diamond in the rough. If I hadn't been to their other location on South Street in Philadelphia, I would not have known about the West Chester location. Took my family on Sunday for my daughter's birthday and it was phenomenal! From the greeting at the door, to the appetizers, to the main course to the dessert to the farewell as we left. All top notch. I am planning a return to in early May and it just may be the place our family goes to for special and not so special occasions. I highly recommend this restaurant for an exceptional dining experience!"

"We had the most delicious arugula salad. I am still thinking about it. And the fettuccini Bolognese, and gnocchi gorgonzola were excellent. The service was friendly. We will definitely be going back soon!"

"This was my first time at Core de Roma and I went there on the recommendations of a friend. Since the restaurant came Highly recommended I invited two other couples. Upon arriving we were seated promptly and met by our server Rita. Rita was well versed on the specials and was an excellent server. The food was served promptly, paced properly and at the perfect temperature. The food and presentation were superb. Unfortunately the noise level in the restaurant ruined the experience dining experience and althought we enjoyed the food we did not enjoy the evening. Another problem was the check, our server was great but did not know the prices and over charges us on four items. We choose not to bring it to her attention."

"Core De Roma came highly recommended and did not disappoint. It was a bit loud - needs some window coverings and wall coverings to help absorb some of the sound. Service was great and the specials were delicious. Would highly recommend and will certainly return."

"We keep trying to love this restaurant, but after our fourth visit we have given up hope. The quality and preparation of the food is not what it was in the beginning. The noise in the restaurant and poor service has made it our last visit."

"This was our first visit. I did read the reviews but decided to go anyway. The artichoke appetizer was delicious, the bread was cold and the musells were ok. One of us ordered fettucine alfredo and the portion size was very small. It didn't even fill the entire plate. One had chicken marsala and the chicken was too tough to cut with a butter knife. The other three entres were ok. The cannolis were delicious as was the lemoncello cake. With other very good/excellent restaurants in the area and considering the prices, we would have done better elsewhere. Glad we tried it but probably won't be back."

"Less than 1 star review! 6pm reservation/4 persons on a Saturday night /arrived on time. Not greeted/Stood by the door. Immediately noticed table was in middle of the room/too close together with others. 40 minutes to get our 3 salads/1 appetizer. Another 20 minutes for dinners.Constantly bumped by waiters to get around us. So loud that I could not hear my guests speak.Plates arrived,2 were room temp.Brought our entrees back from the kitchen microwaved, and missing ½ my cutlet!Portion sizes were small! Restaurant was hot/no fans/noise level off the charts. No staff returned to check/Received check/Nothing taken off bill. We paid, and left immediately. Not good service or good food! We will never return or recommend this restaurant to anyone!"

"When we arrived the restaurant was packed and we were seated at the bar. The owner was very concerned that we had to wait and quickly found us a table. Our server was great and the food was too. We had the sausage and rabe appetizer and also the bruschetta. The bruschetta was perfect - 4 large pieces and a salad center. Dinner for us was salmon, veal parmigiana and chicken saltimbocca. My saltimbocca was over seasoned for my taste but was otherwise nicely done and presented. For dessert we had the canoli's These were one of the best we've ever had."
