"We came up to Orlando for business and to meet our two sons for dinner. We looked forward to our deliciously described fish entrees: Grouper with lump crab and lemon beurre blanc. I was presented two small overcooked fillets atop a greasy stringy crab mess. Possibly the dishes were overlooked in the oven or waiting for delivery? Unfortunately we were starving and ate the food. It was not a $30 dinner. Once the bill was presented we saw the pricing for the drinks - Belvedere Vodka martini was over $13. The Jack Daniels & Coke was $8. When we go back for a visit we will not be eating here again."

"Excellent service and great food. My only disappointment was not having a choice to use organic sugar with my tea. Food price is higher than average, but so is the quality of the food, which is well worth the extra cost."

"While my experience was fine - it was just that - nothing memorable or exciting. The service and management were friendly and efficient. I ordered the NY Strip and a lobster tail. The lobster was slightly over-cooked so was a bit chew as was the steak (more medium than the medium rare I asked for). My partner's fish was pleasant, but again slightly over-cooked. I think timing is hard on such a hot wood burning grill. That being said - if you like wood-grilled items this is a place for you. It overpowered the delicate fish - in my opinion. The dining room is a throwback to 60's lounge meets fish house. there were many groups there and the atmosphere was lively enough for groups and quite enough for a couple's dinner out."

"I ordered the prime rib and it was not very good. Although I didn't expect it to be as tender as the filet mignon, it was very tough and didn't have much flavor. My son had the filet mignon and said that it had a good flavor but wasn't very tender. The service was very good. We were treated like VIP's because we made our reservation using Open Table. The manager personally greeted us and served us a special appetizer. That was an unexpected plus!"

"Greeted when we walked in, not wait at all. Greeted right away by our server and he answered all of our questions, before we ordered. The manager brought a taste of a special appetizer for booking with open table. (It was pretty good & a nice gesture) The service was Wonderful through out the entire dining experience. I did notice that the restaurant was not busy and the servers were behind us talking and this was distracting. The food lacked from the appetizer, garlic bread to the Entrée, and it's over priced. We paid $30 dollars for a steak that was hot but burnt and not corn fed. We will not return because the food lacked not because of the service."

"I booked my reservation online, where it allowed me to enter any special requests. I took the opportunity to list my food allergies, realizing that they probably would not acknowledge my entry. When I got to the restaurant, not only did they acknowledge my allergies, but they had prepared a list of the menu items I could not have. The food was delicious. The ambiance was great, except they took us into a room off of the main dining rooms which did not have near the ambiance that the main dining room did. The service was outstanding. I thought it was very reasonably priced. I will definitely go back."

"Management brought a complimentary appetizer, It was delicous. The salad and bread were perfect. I ordered chicken & shrimp with garlic & parm fries as a side. When they came out they were homemade wedges, not the fries I was expecting, and they were amazing. They had a homemade sauce to dip them in, but they didn't need the sauce. I used the sauce for my shrimp. The grilled chicken & shrimp was great.I ended up packing half my entree. When the waitress asked about dessert I felt full, but my son said yes. My husband asked if it was homemade, the waitress said they came from a local bakery. We decided to split a key-lime pie and it was amazing. Everything about are meal was great and we will be back. Thanks"

"We heard about this restaurant from several sources, one saying it was in the top 10 "fish" restaurants in the country. Our expectations were high however when we entered we had a friendly greeting and where led into a section of the restaurant that was not carpeted and had large windows looking at the parking lot. I guess we expected a better ambiance considering the articles we read. While we were waiting for our guest to arrive I happened to walk thru the rest of the building and saw areas much more in line with our expectations, carpeted, fish tanks, richer look etc. Much nicer so we were moved. Our of five meals 4 were fine however one was sent back due to bad taste and smell of the fish."

"Everything was great except for a $17.00 dollar grey goose on the rocks. That is higher than NYC restaurants charge for this drink. Otherwise it was very good."

"The food was very good. We had shrimp scampi, and swordfish and Mahi. The Mahi was out of this world! But the swordfish was not very good. But the waiter was happy to exchange it for us. We really had a great experience. The Reese's cheesecake was amazing, I'd go back just to have more!"

"I've heard so much about fishbones, all good, for so many years, but I have never been. My wife and kids didn't like the sign out front and were already judging the food based on the sign. They almost made me cancel our reservation. Needless to say they were glad we didn't. The hype and the chatter did not disappoint, raves from service to food. The crabcakes which were not on the menu were the best we ever had. The moral of the story is do not judge a fish by it bones."

"Food was very nice, but prices were not in line. $40 for a piece of chilean sea bass that was an estimated 4-5 ounces, with 1 side of mixed vegetables, and a salad. The manager provided us with 2 cappuccinos and a piece of cake for our kids to share as compensation, but experiencing this helps me now understand the huge range of reviews on review sites. Many on the review sites indicate that the meats (chops, steaks) are very good, i would consider going that route if I was going back."

"I was surprised! The food was really very good. Our fish was fresh and the steaks were cooked perfectly. Thanks to Open Table for this one. I would have never selected this place, as it looks "not so nice" from the outside. It's a bit "retro" inside. It reminded me of a 1960's type of restaurant."

"We found this restaurant listed as close to our Hotel (County Inns & Suites, Universal Orlando) and figured we'd take chance... Food and Service were great, we went early and had a reservation... so that may have impacted the short wait). I had a filet mignon and my wife had the salmon stuffed with crab cake... both were delicious, got more than enough to eat."

""I enjoyed the place. I definitely would not return to try more dishes. The shrimp tasted like rubber. The chicken was ok, but nothing special. The meat was fine. The Service was horrible. The male waiter was even kind of rude. The wine glasses were too small and made of glass. I wonder why you have a space on your reservation form asking if it is a birthday date, because nothing special happened""

"The manager introduced himself and brought over a special appetizer to thank us for reserving via Open Table which was a very nice touch. The waitress was friendly but when I asked for more hot water for my tea, she brought it in a glass and poured it into my tea cup. That was surprising because I thought I would have been given a fresh cup of hot water especially since I was given several choices of flavored tea. If that is the norm for the restaurant, I would suggest bringing a fresh cup of hot water each time. Other than that the service was great and the food delicious."

"I was here with a group of 10 recently. We made a reservation, but still had to wait for 45 minutes to be seated.
Things started off rocky when we ordered the smoked trout dip for a first course and it was served with crackers. At least put a baguette on the plate!
When our entrees arrived 3 of us sent them back because the food was cold. I ordered the swordfish and it was barely warm to the touch. I know coursing larger parties can be difficult, but we would have preferred if our entrees came out staggered rather than they all coming out together and half of us being served cold food.
I made the reservation here because of all of the rave reviews. After the experience I wondered if the restaurant was someone skewing reviews"

"Everyone in the group of 5 order fish. All dishes were delicious. Eating a whole snapper is a bit of a challenge but well worth the work. The server had told me what to expect and she was correct. The combo appetizer platter had a nice selction, mostly fried items. The fish pate was delictious. It was a Friday night; the restaurant was noisey and crowede but the service was good. I would definately return."

"We used to live in Orlando but do not travle there often any more, but always try to make Fishbones an evening stop. We were disappointed - the salad looked like it was thrown on the plate and the portion of fish for $30 on each plate might have been a single portion elsewhere. We love the vegetables crisp, but they were closer to raw. We were hoping for a nice, relaxing night --- left shaking our head."

"The wife and I decided to try it out! First the place is very well decorated. Old fishing poles as door handles on the main door. The Food was great. I had the Tuna and my wife had the Swordfish. The tuna was prepared perfectly. I did the oriental style medium rare! The swordfish was great also. She got it prepared medium, smoked on the grill! Great smoke flavor! The BREAD.. Ohh My,talking about amazing. This is a cross of Red lobster and O'charlies (both of my favorite rolls) put together in 1 roll! I would seriously come back just for the bread! The service was above average. The only disappointing thing was the wine we ordered wasn't stored in the refrigerator, So we had to wait for it to chill"

"Geancarlo, our server, was excellent and very personable. Gave excellent suggestions and very attentive but not intrusive. Food was very good and presented very well. Parking seems to be limited unless you use their valet service. But I would return. Had a 7:30 OT reservation and was seated immediately. Was a Sunday evening. Had Chilean sea bass and mahi...both prepared well."

"This experience was far less enjoyable than all out previous nights there. The watrise was very mechanical like in her presentation and service. 3 of our meals came out correctl, my prime rib came out medium vs the medium rare I asked for. Thus by the time I was half way through my meal the meat was almost to the well done dried out stage."
