Executive Chef Robert Marzinsky helms the kitchen, serving up a menu inspired by traditional American cuisine with inflections of classic French fare, along with a varied selection of wines and beer.
"We had our first visit to Fitler Dining Room and we will definitely go back. The beet salad was delicious as were the gnocchi. My entry was the beef cheek. The beef melts in your mouth. It was extremely rich though and cries our for a strong red wine. Which by the way the wine list is really interesting with something for everyone. Highly recommend. Service was really good and friendly."

"The service was excellent. Our wait staff were very knowledgeable about the food and wine; they offered their opinions, but were not overbearing. The salad had an interesting combination of items with a light dressing that was easily a size to share, and the staff split the salad before serving. The fish was outstanding; delicate and light. The pork dish was not as good as we did not enjoy the fat with the crispy skin. If you want a low key, neighborhood place with great staff and food, this is ideal. Great for just 2 people. I would not suggest more than 4."

"This place almost has it right. The setting, the lighting, the service; all great. The food however was a letdown. My soup, while very well done, had paper in it, which I'm hoping was from the smoked meat. The beef cheek was tender and delicious but smothered in a black garlic reduction and accompanied by undercooked vegetables. The skate wing was atrocious; it was bland on the outside and the crab stuffing tasted odd. Overall I don't think the dinner is worth the price tag, but with some changes to the menu, and perhaps the behind the scenes staff, it could excel."

"Nice find. Two tables are more airily spaced than at other places, so I could hear my companion instead of the conversations on either side, for a change. Food was just fine, and the server was great. We will go back"

"The food was fresh and perfectly executed. It was hard to choose what to eat; everything on the menu looked great! The dining room was full but not uncomfortably so, and the music played was great... Loved this new spot by the p&k fam!"

"This was our third visit in about six weeks. We love the atmosphere and the staff is wonderful. I would strongly suggest that they make some additions to their menu. It is a small menu and needs some refreshing from time to time. The prices are also expensive for a neighborhood experience. Perhaps a neighborhood special offered every night would be a good idea."

"enjoyed a wonderful meal again ... the beet salad was not only artistic but truly tasty..... i had the pork 3 ways and was as happy as the proverbial pig.... the chocolate cake and lemon tart were also winners
from the professional greeting at the door to the attentive wait staff, the tone of the place is polished
looking forward to warmer weather ( i,m a big fan of outdoor dining ) and the brunch service
will urge everyone i know to join the party , ever if it decreases my chances of my reservation selection
welcome to the neighborhood"

"Dishes really stand out here. Service top notch (though having the maitre d' re-describe what is being served after waiter has already done so when explaining the menu is a bit much). Atmosphere is terrific."

"Fitler Dining Room has become one of my favorite restaurants in Philadelphia. I've been there twice now and have enjoyed every item I've ordered. Their attention to culinary detail is superb. The service is fantastic!!! It's a very pretty place as well. The fact that it's within walking distance of my home makes it that much more special!!! It's a great addition to this part of town."

"Everything was absolutely beautiful from start to finish! I had the roasted and pickled beets followed by the Fluke and my boyfriend had the gnocchi and short rib. We loved everything, especially the caraquette oysters the chef sent out to us. Everything was so flavorful and presented beautifully. Also, the interior is GORGEOUS. The service/staff were great. Perfect night, bravo all around. Oh, yes! I almost forgot about the cheese!! So brilliant!! Get cheese!"

"The atmosphere, design and food were all outstanding. The service was not. We waited an extraordinary amount of time to be waited on -- this was also true for taking our order, getting our drinks, receiving our appetizers and then our dinner. Our entrees were all lukewarm warm, requiring us to eat quickly before they got cold. Too bad because they were well prepared and delicious-- but unfortunately not served hot.
We complimented the host upon leaving on the great atmosphere and quality of food and tried to tell him about the slow service and coldness of food. He did not appear to appreciate the feedback and in fact mocked us for it, which was unfortunate."

"Beautiful and elegant ambiance. Amazing service and one of the best meals I have had in a long time (beets and mushrooms appetizer and skate entree)! Can't wait to return this weekend! So happy this restaurant is in my neighborhood!"

"First visit. Beautiful room, great service, wonderful food. Appreciated the vegetarian options - including a the vegetarian cauliflower appetizer special. Our waiter (Donald) was friendly and professional. We went quite early so the noise level was minimal."

"We had a delightful dinner -- delicious and inventive preparation, attractive presentation, excellent service. The ambiance is perfect for a food forward neighborhood restaurant. Many customers seemed to know each other and there was a mix of men talking business and couples have a social night out. We will definitely be back."

"Outstanding!! Welcome to Rittenhouse West!! What an awesome team, menu, concept and execution. The service is only topped by the food! the Gnocchi is the best in the city and the short rib lacks absolutely nothing! Save room for the banana pudding! Terrific!"

"My husband and I came here for dinner before the orchestra, which is relevant only because we were upset to have to cut our meal short before dessert to make it on time. But, FDR gave us many reasons to return beyond our desire to try the carrot cake. The wine list is excellent (varied prices make it such that this place could become a regular spot rather than a splurge), the staff is very (very!) friendly, and the food was outstanding. Although the menu is small, it's well-curated and well-executed. Gems: the pork. My only concern (read: hope) is that the restaurant maintains this level of quality and service after they've been reviewed. They were definitely on their game during our visit."

"We were anxious to try the new off-shoot of the Pub & Kitchen team...smaller, more upscale than P&K. We liked our food, didn't love, but it is so new. The servers and owner were very accommodating when we complained that a vent was blowing directly on us, going from very warm to very chilly ( they invited us to switch tables but ultimately corrected air handling so we didn't have to.). I thought the side of Brussels sprouts was a very clever and delicious preparation..I think it had pickled artichoke and was in a bed of puréed fig?. Sounds weird, but fresh,r sweet and savory flavor."

"Beautiful make over of Meme/Melograno space. Chicken and short ribs were excellent as were butter lettuce salad and gnocchi with snails. Yummy homemade rolls too! Ambience was also very nice. Management was evident in a very nice way - offering a gratis course because one thing had been slightly off. It was a very gracious gesture and one that was very much appreciated and will be remembered. We will definitely be back!"

"It was OK. The decor is really nice, and it is an inviting space. I found the wine list to be overpriced. Obviously, the menu has very few options, so I recommend checking online first to see if they have something you would want before you go. My meal was just OK, not something I would need to get again. I was surprised how expensive my bill was for how little food I received."

"We are so happy that Fitler Dining Room opened in the neighborhood, the decor is beautiful and the food delicious. It's a little more formal and less casual than we had expected and hoped. The ambiance was warm, and the space is lovely. At first glance the menu selection seemed small, but it was just perfect. The artichoke soup was divine, and the skate wing was amazing! We licked our plates clean. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly. We left feeling very satisfied. Hope there will be tables outside come spring."
