Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro
Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro is a cozy European-style cabin in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, a legendary restaurant on top of Aspen Highlands. With views of the iconic Maroon Bells - perhaps the American West’s most recognizable, postcard-perfect mountains - dining here is a bucket-list worthy experience.
Get into the European spirit by ordering a warm and bubbly serving of foudue or baked robila. Pre order the raclette-slices of cheese that you heat in little trays and enjoy with cornichons, potatoes and air-dried beef! Enjoy some classic duck confit or braised beef short ribs paired with a fine wine from our worldly list or a refreshing cocktail. Most importantly, save room for the famous sweet and flaky apple strudel.
At the top of the Cloud Nine Ski lift, we are a ski-in, ski-out restaurant. If you don't ski, don't worry! Join us every Thursday night for our public open-snowcat dinners! Seating is limited to 40 guests, and has an 18 person minimum.

"By far, the best place in the neighborhood, especially given that you must ski or chair lift to get there. The food is topped only by the scenery and on a clear day you can see as far as the continental divide over 100 miles away. It can become quite noisy and energetic by late afternoon and even boasts a daytime disco dynamic with music, on some afternoons. Despite the tight seating and high noise level, classics such as the Raclette (order in advance) or wiener schnitzel are unsurpassed at this altitude and west of the Alps. And if you like good wines, be prepared to to give up serious skiing for the rest of the day. But If skiing, great food and wine are your thing, then Cloud Nine is as close to Nirvana as you will ever get."

"Have been a couple of times to this restaurant and the experience is varied. on this last visit with a bachelor party, we were sat in the busiest area constantly being bumped but waiters and diners, while the other side of our table was being melted like raclette by the wood stove that really didn't need to be on in march.
On finally being asked for our order which took about 20 mins, we were told we had to order quick because the kitchen was closing.
The food was very average, there was coq au vin but without the vin. The pasta lacked bolognaise, which we thought was a rip off at $40 a plate.
As we got further through our lunch the music got louder forcing a contrived party atmosphere where the odd cougar danced on her chair."

"Outstanding overall experience. Where else can you get a gourmet meal right on the mountain? The dining area is a little crowded, but everyone is friendly and in such a great mood, it's a not a big deal."

"I heard a lot about Cloud 9 and was excited to go but found it overall disappointing. While most go here for the amazing view and the scene neither was present at our sequestered table in a windowless section of this awkwardly laid out restaurant which was also right next to the door so got a frigid gust every time someone came in or out. The food is decent, portions small so not a place to replenish from a hard day skiing, and quite pricy. Expect to pay $50-70 for lunch."

"I've lived in Aspen for 11 years and been traveling here since I was a young boy and have to admit that this was one of the most spectacular dining experiences I've had in all of these years. The fondue was delicious, wine list small but superb, views of Maroon Bells and the surrounding mountain range breathtaking and the 2:30 dance party was so much fun. I will put this on my yearly list of things to do as long as I live here. I took my girlfriend up for a ski date and she has such a great time as well. Just watch how much wine you consume as you still have to get down the hill at the end of the festivities!"
