Feast - Tucson Reviews List
Feast - Tucson
Feast's menu changes on the first Tuesday of each month, and remains the same for both lunch and dinner, as well as in between. This keeps our menu seasonally appropriate and offers up the freshest ingredients possible at the height of their season. We think this also keeps it interesting. It's our hope that if we're excited about the menu, you'll be excited as well. Our private dining room accommodates up to 50 people.
Feast is also a wine and liquor shop with twenty wines by the glass, a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence winner for the past five years running, and a full-service caterer.

"Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic! This is about the 4th time I've DINED (not just eaten) at Feast, and each time seems to be better than the previous experience. Friends of mine joined me at Feast from Chicago. They are used to outstanding restaurants, and even they raved about our food, the outstanding wine list, the attentiveness of the staff, etc. Feast has now moved into Number One position as my favorite Tucson restaurant, and I look forward to my next dining experience there."

"We eat Feast regularly and always have a great meal. The menu is small (but changes regularly) and the wine list expansive. Virtually all the food is made fresh in house and they are happy to accommodate special needs. I don't believe that we have had a meal at Feast without a visit to the table by Doug, the owner and chef, who always makes splendid meal suggestions."

"This is the second time I've eaten at Feast. The first time was over ten years ago and our experience was so poor that I never went back until the other night. The reason we went back was all the positive reviews on Open Table. I figured we must have had an unusual experience back then and I should give it another try. A salad, an appetizer and two entrees with sides later and we just don't get what people see in this place. The chef seems to pride himself on unusual and eclectic ingredients and preparations, though sometimes ingredients that sound odd together are.. just that. Doug needs to put more effort into tasting and less time in thinking up imaginative (crazy?) combos. There are much better choices in Tucson."

"This is my favorite Tucson restaurant. The food is always outstanding, and my favorite thing is that the menu changes on the first Tuesday of every month. The wine list is exceptional, as are the specialty cocktails. It's always busy, bu the noise level is acceptable. Love this place!"

"Restuarant was nice, service good but we felt portion size was skimpy on all but meat/salmon portions. Very little potatoes and spinich was served with chicken dish, I doubt if only one very small potato was mashed up and served. Salmon dish was special but again not much accompied the salmon. Disappointing."

"Innovative dishes prepared and presented with obvious attention to detail. Our main dishes presented a challenge for us to choose a wine because of how different they were from each other. The chef however chose 4 different bottles and explained in detail how they would pair well with what we had ordered. Not only had great wine knowledge but quoted prices as well so that we were able to make an informed decision."

"Easter Sunday- not sure if that was the problem, but the meal did not meet previous experiences at the Feast. The lamb just did not taste like roasted lamb; the flavor was off and texture tough. It almost tasted like the slices had been cut and cooked as each meal was ordered; it was anything but jucy and flavorful. I'm sure my husband and I will return because of earlier delicious meals and because the chef did not charge for one of the meals and threw in a free dessert. I guess any restaurant can serve a bad meal, but this one that will get a repeat visit."

"waitress was terrific - friendly, understanding, easy-to-get along with, helpful with wine and menu (knowledgeable and if she didn't know, quickly found out). my food selection - the asparagus-beet-carrot french toast- was unusual and fun to try; although maybe not a "keeper," i'd order the kale and black garlic, and peas (garden-fresh!) anytime. as it seems to be the owner/chef's habit to visit with his diners, he stopped by our table that evening and was his usual appreciative and receptive self. Tucson is lucky to have Feast right in the center of things."

"Great food, very friendly and accomodating staff. The chef visited every table to see how things were going. Although there was no kids menu, the chef was nice enough to send out a sample of his gnocchi for our 7 year old, to make sure he would like it before we ordered. He loved it! We were visitng family in Tucson when we dined at Feast and plan to dine there again on our next visit!"

"An absolutely delicious dinner was for our entire party of three. Even my "upscale" friend from New York City said "THIS IS THE BEST". And it is a perfectly wonderful spot for yummy food, wonderful ambiance and casual but fine tuned. Doug does an amazing job with his menu and its 'tweaks' month after month when he changes the offerings. We dine all over town and Feast is for sure one of our favorites."

"No thank you. I wouldn't go back. Forced, pretentious menu that doesn't live up to it's descriptions. Too small portion of Atlantic Char, "wild rice" (really?) patty with nuts that tasted like paper. Sweet potato slices served "al dente" (is this intentional -- or was the kitchen in a hurry?) All and all, a disappointment. As for the ambiance? It's more a place to be seen than anything else. The bar looks like an afterthought. And when the server has to go and "ask the bartender" if they have Chopin vodka... Come on. Chopin vodka -- ??? Who doesn't have Chopin vodka -- Okay. Maybe Trident Grill.

"I've eaten there before and this was the only time there was a food issue (served cold) and the waitress was very slow. The owner did come by our table and he more than made up for the lack of service with his friendliness and charm. I'd still recommend to friends. First time it wasn't a great experience. Every one has an off night sometime."

"A frequently changing menu, we had the pork shank with mashed potatoes and my girlfriend had the butterfish. The pork was good, tender and flavorful, the bee pollen made for an interesting sweet flavor. The butterfish was very flavorful with a nice crisp skin, tender and moist, some of the best fish we've had in Tucson! Highly recommend Feast!"
