We named our restaurant Bistro Nolah, an acronym for New Orleans, out of a love for the style of comfort food they serve down south. This style of food is the inspiration behind some of the dishes we serve at Nolah
"Sometimes a little gem is to be found a few steps from home. As you walk in you are welcomed with a smile, introduce to your seat and taken care of like you are the only client in the restaurant. You even know your waiter by his first name. Food as a touch of simple but with a Southern charm twist. This is truly an experience for the pallet but a pleasant evening away from home."

"Wonderful spot! All of the menu items (try the Gumbo!) are the very best. Save room for the beignets too. Great small bistro with a warm ambiance and a first-class wine list."

"A wonderful addtion to the West Island. Excellent food -- the blackened catfish eas outstanding, and a good selection of wines, including the deligtful private import from Washington we enjoyed. Relaxed atmosphere, good service -- it was a terrific evening out, and we will definitely return."

"My wife and I were amazingly surprised by this little Gem. In a location that is not so mainstream I took a gamble when I saw that the menu had Alligator stew. We like not only excellent food but also out-of-the-ordinary food once in a while.
After asking about it and being told that they are from a sustainable farm, we were absolutely delighted by the experience. The aroma, the texture, the visual and of course the taste of everything on our plate was divine. Pair this with a private import syrah from Chile to make everything perfect.
We will definitely go back. Just a note they get the gator only for about 2 wks at a time about twice a year."

"A good find indeed. Having stumbled onto this restaurant I was pleasantly surprised with both the food and the service. I got some exceptional advise on the wine that complemented the short ribs very well. I will certainly go back."

"Excellent meal. Outstanding service. Fine dining feel in a West Island borough is hard to find but they managed it. Cynthia the sommelier is outstanding and very thoughtful in service. Definite recommend and definite go-back."

"We had a wonderful Valentines meal at Bistro Nolah. The restaurant only seats thirty four so it has a warm and intimate ambiance. Within that welcoming space over a cocktails we decided on our meal with the help of our friendly server. I had been there before and loved the crab cakes so I went with that again while my husband was intrigued by the corn chowder with crab. After finishing our complimentary hushpuppies ( so good!) we shared our first course. Both were yummy. For my main meal,I went with the braised beef which I was dying to have again and my husband had the buttermilk fried Cornish hen. Wine by the glass was perfect. And then a spectacular Bourbon bread pudding. We were treated royally and not rushed - We loved it"

"First time at Bistro Nolah, but certainly not the last; we'll go back for sure, to try the other items on the menu. Food was excellent, from the amuse-gueule to the desert (you must try the bread pudding with the bourbon sauce); the service was very attentive, the suggested wine pairing worked very well; the background music was completing the scene very nicely, while you could still have a conversation without any strain. A very nice final touch: since it was Valentine's Day, all the women received a red rose each when leaving."
