The Junction is the first full service restaurant in Asheville's River Arts District. We feature Southern-inspired farm to table fare and seasonal craft cocktails with fresh ingredients. We brine our fried chicken, smoke our pears, handcraft our soups and visit tailgate markets weekly. We make our own bacon and ketchup, squeeze cases of citrus each week for cocktails and work with other local, small businesses whenever possible. We invite you to join us after work for a casual beer and a burger at the bar, or to bring your beloved or whole family for a unique dining experience. Our menu features a combination of soups, salads and sharing plates as well as hearty entree options so that every dining experience is unique. Please visit our website to preview menus, as they change weekly.
"We had dishes that were far from ordinary...and really delicious. The presentation was delightful. As tourists, we were glad to find this off-the-beaten-track place."

"Fantastic cocktail menu. Wished we had time to work our way through each one! We had pork belly/slaw sharing plate, which was a composed dish and we each had three bites. It was excellent. Husband had osso bucco entree, which was huge and delish. I had mahi with barley risotto which was well cooked and had very subtle but excellent flavor. Chocolate/cayenne dessert was O on a fork. As the place got busy it did get loud and our waiter became a little scarce, but he was very knowledgeable and pleasant. If noise is a problem for IOU, consider sitting on the patio. Overall a great experience!"

"Some of our party arrived early and were seated immediately. No one came to offer water or beverages from the bar. After inquiring about a server, we were taken care of, but the service was only adequate. The food, however, was top notch. We will return to enjoy the marvelous variety of well-prepared, diverse, and unique offerings."

"This is an interesting restaurant that perhaps tries too hard - I ate the only vegetarian main offered ... a piece of strange bread with a small amount of cut up asparagus and mushrooms in a sauce on top. the veggies were ok but the bread was only so-so, the sauce was just ok...the whole thing was a pretty big disappointment. Two people has the fried chicken which was also only ok and I forgot to ask the other person who ordered the pork osso bucco what he thought. BUT, the service (Taylor) was super - really super. The selection of wines by the glass is good and the building in interesting - the 'hood is, of course, great. Perhaps brunch would be better???"

"Great independent resaurant. Excellent service. Enjoyed a delicious cheese plate. Hanger steak and muscles were also excellent. Only negative was that it was louder than I would have liked."

"Walked into the Junction, absolutely loved the vibe and the atmosphere. The exposed brick and lighting were wonderful, great design. The food was also delicious, I loved the potstickers but wished there had been more on the plate. It was classified as a "sharing plate" and yet there were only three, definitely not enough to share in my book. My burger was delicious, but both the appetizers and the main course took WAY too long to come out to us. Right before I was about to ask our waiter if they had forgotten our order it arrived. The waiter himself was also pleasant, but could have come around a couple more times to check on us. Overall the food itself and the atmosphere made up for the other annoyances."

"All was well. The atmosphere is nice. The staff is very friendly. Good energy in the neighborhood. We ordered the Mussels and the Bibb salad for appetizers. They were both just fine. The salad looked like a piece of art! Then we ordered the Tea Brined Fried Chicken and the Ranch Steak. The chicken was awesome. The Steak was a train wreck. It was very expensive and tough as a shoe. If you go, don't order it. Otherwise I think you'll be fine."

"Portions were small for the price paid. I had the fried chicken which was a meager drum stick and 1/4 piece of breast. It was tasty but not enough for $17."

"This is a fun, casual neighborhood restaurant located in the River Arts District with surprisingly good food. The hamburger is one of the best I have ever had. Everything on the menu is great and we have enjoyed most of the dishes at one time or another. We eat here whenever we are in town which is at least 4 or 5 times a year."

"Great restaurant with an innovative menu. The food is sourced locally and is always fresh. The cocktails are a work of Mixologist's Art. We had the Fried Oysters and Chicken Livers with the house made Chow-Chow and it was awesome. The Pork Osso Bucco was great with their fanatastic collard greens as a side and a lemon/thyme risotto which was a play on the traditional Gremolata. Everyone loved their entrees. This is a great restaurant with personal service from a husband and wife owner team surrounded by a great staff."

"Fantastic! We visited for Easter brunch and the food was devine! We had a 3 year old in our party and they were extremely accomodating. Although there were no selectiins specifically foe kids, they whipped up a dreamy grilled cheese sandwich for her with a side of fries. 2 people enjoyed the cake tacos. There were 3 mid size pulled pork cake tacos; both diners thought it would have been neat if there were three different kinds of tacos (ie: one pulled pork, one chicken, one veggie.) The final diner ordered the sweet tea brine fried chicken....AMAZING!
We had a reservation, but ended up arriving early and they were quite accomodating. This was a GREAT dining experience. We will absolutely be back."

"The focus is on southern food. The entrees and sides really paired well. The service was excellent and we enjoyed our chat with the owner. The Riverarts District needs more restaurants like this one! Definitely on the top 10 list of Asheville restaurants."

"The Junction was unusually packed due to an opening across the street. Everyone, including owners worked very hard to ensure a top notch experience despite the pressure. There was a gruner veltliner on the list which was a pleasant surprise to sip with a sharing of fried okra. The braised short ribs supper was definitely worth the trip...glad I had reservation s!"

"We arrived on time with a reservation but apparently we were given the last table open. Unfortunately this table was set up by the kitchen hallway area. Certainly was not a good spot and not designed for a table to be there even. And it took a very long time to get our food. Having said that the food was good but I left thinking we would probably not go back there. Too many other really good places to eat here in Asheville."

"Service was excellent, very attentive. We had to make a quick departure to get to a show down the street. They helped us get out on time and even yelled thanks out the door as we hurried down the street. Only complaint is that there was only 1 option for a vegetarian entree. But it was delicious (as was the cheese plate)!"

"The food is outstanding and the bar has creative drinks. We went on a Saturday night and it was very crowded and loud. There was no place to check in when we entered the bar. We finally asked a server how to get a table. The hostess sat us at a small table in the bar area next to a group of people standing around. We asked to be seated in the dining room (there were several empty tables) and the hostess acted very put out by our request but moved us. We waited a long time for our server and even longer for our drinks (we could see them sitting on the bar). Service was less than impressive but the food was great. Maybe we'll try it again in the Summer when the patio opens up and there is a little more space to move around."

"Our first trip to The Junction and we will be back! Situated on the main drag through the up and coming River Arts District this cozy spot gives an industrial yet artistic setting for a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was alive with a packed dinning area and buzzing intimate bar area, but was not overwhelming or too noisy. Although reservations were made through Open Table about one hour before any hopes to get a table without a wait for more than 2 at peak hours would require a short wait. This spot is in high demand. The food was phenomenal! From appetizers to desert everything was wonderful and the staff was outstanding. This is a must for a date night or an evening out with friends. Classy and comfortable. Don't miss it!"

"We love the Junction and have been regulars since it opened. The menu is always being updated but the House Ground Burger is a constant as well as the Sweet Tea Brined Fried Chicken. The preparation changes on both but a sure bets no matter how they are prepared. There is always a vegetarian and fish dish on the menu for those looking for an alternative to the other "Proteins". Make sure that you try the Charcuterie Plate and the Fried Green Tomatoes for starters to share. The restaurant is intimate with an Artsy vibe and great music. The owners Tanya and Charles go out of there way to make you feel welcome and that you enkoy the experience."

"We ate here on Valentine's evening and were quite impressed with the food. We had the shrimp and oyster appetizer, beet salad and fried chicken "soup". I don't normally eat much fried food, but this was so well done. Not oily and extremely fresh and tasty. The batter didn't take over. Drinks were very good though a bit on the overpriced side. The decor is hip and modern without feeling cold, though we had a perfect view of the kitchen and the activity in and out of it. Not as romantic as we would have liked, but still a very enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend giving it a try!"
