Bocca Di Bacco is a New York City Restaurant Group establishment from dynamic restaurateur and New York native Robert Malta, who owns nearly a dozen restaurants throughout the city. “I’ve been in the business 25 years,” Malta says. “I opened the first Bocca Di Bacco in Hell’s Kitchen in 2007 and it quickly became a neighborhood favorite. The Chelsea location is an evolution of what we’ve been offering. There are new menu items, and a more refined look and feel, but it’s still a great spot for the neighborhood any night of the week.”
"We've been here twice and loved the place both times. I've had salads both times; my friend had a pasta. My salads were terrific, as was the pasta. I had a delicious rosé for a reasonable price. The space is large and airy. We have dined late both times, so the restaurant was quiet, but the space is large, the table well spaced. Had the place been full, i think it still would have been comfortable.
We tried Bocca on the UES. Quite the opposite experience. Crowded, noisy, with a maître'd who plays favorites. Go to Chelsea!
Btw, the space for adding a private note to the restaurant allows you to leave very little information. So let me say I was treated terribly by the maître'd. We didn't fight or fail to cooperate. But we left. Skip B UES!"

"They took note of my request and accommodated us as best as they could. The food was outstanding. I had the monkfish, which a friend recommended and it was fabulous!! The bruschetta ai funghi-to die for and so was the special appetizer and dessert. Great wine list and so was the service. Will go back there again!"

"Food was pretty average, not in a bad way but nothing special. GOod if you're just looking for a decent place to eat in the area at short notice - was pretty easy to get a reservation last minute on saturday night."

"We selected it at random because it was located near the Joyce Theater. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food, the presentation, the service and the ambiance. I would certainly recommend another trip."

"The atmosphere was great, food delicious and beautifully presented. They have great wines and a very nice list. Could use some more white wines. I would recommend to friends. I found the staff to personable and friendly. It may get a bit loud, Hey its NYC!"

"The original location on 9th at 54th is a much nicer, warmer place, but the food and service remain stellar. A good thing to have another BdB in Chelsea!"

"My main was overcooked, starter undercooked. Additionally, our drinks were accidentally rung up as 27 dollars each "by the computer". With so much competition on 9th I do not see this space lasting."

"Really good food... Service was okay. The staff in general were friendly. Very nice atmosphere. Love the hosts/hostesses, they were super nice and friendly :) our server wasnt as attentive as he should be. I highly recommend the minestrone and the jumbo shrimp! So good... I love having my water refilled and getting checked on, so hopefully that will be the case next time. But yes, I will come back for a next time :)"

"This is our first time here. It is a welcome addition to Chelsea and a good alternative to the other Italian restaurants in the hood. The space is very attractive, spacious and comfortable. The food and service are good."

"Fine new addition to the Chelsea neighborhood. Realistic prices, great drinks. Wonderful grappa list. My snapper with mussels and clams was first rate! Everyone enjoyed their pastas and the antipasto portions were shareable size. We shall return."

"This was my second visit to Bocca and once again I settled into a cozy banquette to enjoy the wonderful tortellini with asparagus. My vegetarian husband had the same and loved it. It's hard to find great vegetarian dishes and this one is a winner. The funghi bread was another stand out. Such a romantic and easy going evening with a charming and efficient staff. A perfect spot for a date night and don't forget to try their after dinner drinks to warm the tummy."

"Staff was lovely, but I had roasted chicken and it was dry and not terribly flavorful. My husband's meal was OK to good. However, if a restaurant can't get a basic dish like roasted chicken correct, well I'm not sure if I'm returning."

"Unbelievable food, extensive and superb wine list. Candle light and tasteful decor. Helpful staff. Slightly loud, even when not full--but you expect this in Chelsea."

"I have had great meals at the uptown/9th Ave. location and was excited to try this new site opening right down the street from me. Had read a couple mixed reviews of the new location, particualry in regards to the service, so delayed trying it for a few weeks to let them work the kinks out; unfortunately, still kinda kinky. Food is excellent though and I will return; just hope management is addressing the service issues - nothing horrific, more like death by paper cuts; just not the level of service I expect from a restaurant in this price range, staff unfamiliairty with the menu, food coming out at different times. Again - I'll be back because the food is delicious;just hope the service level can rise to match."

"Food was ok. A little too loud inside. And when we got there they couldnt get their open table machine going. So we had to wait at the bar for a while because they didn't have us down as a reservation. Staff was very nice."
