"Arrived on time vale parking ... Walk to the door very nice building open airy... there are table outside for having a cocktail before dinner or maybe a after dinner aperitif..
Sitting was prompt not crowded that you left that you were sitting on top of the next table ...
Service is superb first class and never felt rushed. Every things is done in its time so be prepared to spend a little time dinning. I feel thats the way it should be ..
For a special occasion or a romantic dinner you can't go wrong..

"Lovely interior although sound ricochets easily. Many mirrors, glass walls, etc.
Gracious, attentive waitstaff, well trained, observant. Water glasses filled without asking, etc. Plating was lovely and showed a lot of care in the food prep.
Far too many recited specials (without prices) but there are a number of interesting items. Good diverse wine list with many bottles between $30 and $60. Kitchen open until 10pm on most nights, I was told. That's unusual in the suburbs.

"My husband and I celebrated our 10th anniversary with dinner at Bellissimo's and we were not disappointed. Aside from the fact that the restaurant is located right on Route 23, once you enter, the ambiance is chic and sophisticated. The valet guys are very welcoming and enthusiastic, wishing you a great time as you enter the restaurant. We had a 7pm reservation and were seated in the "wine room" which was very nice and felt upscale. Service, food and wine were outstanding. Be prepared to spend about $75-$90 per person. Well worth it for a special evening out! Try the sausage over spinach and polenta app, the crabcake app., swordfish over escarole and beans and chicken alla verona. Scrumptious! Lava cake and lemon sorbet top it off!"

"Overall, the food was good except for the veal. The veal had good flavor, but it was chewy. I asked the waiter how the veal was and he said "very good", but it was tough. The ambiance is nice. The service was good and the rest of the meal was good, but I was disappointed with my meal. My dates meal was good and we shared a plate of gnocchi with bolognese sauce, which was good."

"Great place. Food, best I've had in Jersey since moving back from NYC. Service impeccable, our waiter was polite, knowledgeable, and great sense of humor (Hassan, I believe his name was). . The noise level was the biggest set back . We sat in the section off the bar (which I believe is off the kitchen) and could hear all the commotion in the kitchen, but after awhile either they toned down or we became accustomed to it, it wasn't an issue. The food was outstanding. I started with the seafood tower, had the best clams I've had in along while (on par with the Oyster Bar in Grand Central). They were so good I order an additional 1/2 dozen. I had the langostino

"Hi everyone! I'm a Bride To Be and over the last 3 weeks I have visited and dined at over 20 restaurants in the North NJ to find the PERFECT venue for a rehearsal dinner. Every restaurant I encountered was lacking in ambiance, food, service, or decor. From the moment I walked in my Fiance and I knew Bellisimo's was the one. I was greeted by the kindest gentleman - the Owner of the Restaurant! I had the most amazing time! You immediately feel that you are in an elegant, classy, esteemed establishment with great decor. The bar is phenomenal! The food is spectacular! The quality of the food is superb. John, the manager is so kind and friendly. I have already recommended Bellissimos to 6 friends who have made reservations. This place is #1!!!!"

"The service at this restaurant was excellent the food was good. I had sea bass a special it was excellent; a dining companion had the seafood with pasta the pasta was not aldente and the seafood was not hot enought. The other dining compaion had veal which was much too thick and the pasta side was cold. We could hardly hear each other the noise level was very high it was crowded but a fine restaurant should not be that loud."

"I've been here yrs ago before they reopened, loved it so was looking forward to going back. The food was very good, congrats to the chef! Now problems,, we had a reservation in advance. We get there on time,seated in a middle row back table. At first no big deal but soon found out the problem. The tables are packed in so the wait staff doesn't have room to walk thru with food and trays. So they have a stand right behind our table where they work the food out, it was very distracting loud & chaotic having the serving station right next to you. Got water spilled on me by a waiter. So loud overall u couldn't hear each other talk. Waiter slow with drink refills and seemed distracted. We expected a better experience ESP. For thprice"

"The details of our disaster are comedic. Long wait to be seated. No martini glasses at the bar. Cocktails were served in wine glasses as they ran out of martini glasses. A clocked twenty minutes before specials were given and orders were taken. Wine cork was obliterated and a half glass of wine was offered in the tasting pour. We were told that they were understaffed and that a waiter had quit. Many other uncharateristic events throughout the very long dining experience.
This was highly unusual for this wonderful place. We sat in the casual dining area near the bar. The service in this area needs immediate attention. I love this place and I will return. I hope this is contructive criticism."

"So glad Bellisimo is back in business! It was sorely missed! We had a wonderful dinner, were greeted warmly and welcomed back.
Restaurant is beautiful after the renovations! Our food was fabulous! I started with the tre color salad, my entree was the Chilean sea bass, absolutely done to perfection. The warm apple tart was a wonderful cap to a delicious meal!
Our waiter was great! Memorized the long list of specials and explained them well. The only regret is the noise level in the main dining room, luckily we had an early reservation and were done with our meal before the noise would not allow you to hear your dining partner!
Can't wait to return and enjoy an other fine meal!"

It's wise open currently and the noise level is staggering. The main dining room is basically a different property compared to the center room near the kitchen. Fix that, and approaching 5 star."

"My husband and I had been to Bellisimo's years ago and both loved it. We had never been there together actually-it was before we knew each other. When we heard it "re-opened" we could not wait to go together. We went with three other couples this past Saturday night and we were terribly disappointed. The food was not as good as we had remembered. The price was also a bit out-of-line. We live in Bergen county and go to NY frequently, as well as other Bergen county restaurants, so we are used to paying for good food. Unfortunately, we were not "wowed" and for the price we should have been. We will not be going back."

"During our Saturday visit, it was very noisy & energetic. We will try it mid week & see if the quality rises when the hectic environment eases. Being seated near the kitchen pathway was not wise. The kitchen staff can be heard yelling their mission above the patrons yelling to compete. Also....Being seated near large groups is always a problem as they have a need to talk to the individuals furthest from them. That always amazes me. This is a nice place with upside potential. Too bad the patrons lack consideration with their loud voices.....Ugh"

"My husband and I went to Bellissimo's to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The inside and outside decor are beautiful, although they are mismatched in style. I found their menu to be very limited not being a fan of seafood. The food was good, not worth the price, but good. The waiter was very nice but seemed to rush us through out meal. Our romantic dinner out lasted 35 minutes. I indicated that the noise was moderate however it was much more than that. Not quite energetic as this rating system provides as a choice, but more like obnoxious. The acoustics are horrible. My husband sat in the chair next to me rather than across the table and I still had trouble hearing him. I was very disappointed. I would not recommend Bellissimo's."

"Dissapointing because we had heard good things about it and I remember how good it used to be but it looks exactly the same on the inside as it always did and the food was just average. First of all the "specials" litterally took the waiter a full 10 mins to go through- there were at least 25 no exageration. It was weird. Got the Spiedino appetizer & it was soggy, the tuna sashimi was just okay. For dinner we ordered the steak & the riggatoni.. the steak was super tough although the sauce it was in was good and the riggatoni was just that- riggatoni with a tomato sauce that was mediocre at best. The chocolate lava cake for desert tasted like it was made days ago. It was just really dissapointing because we had higher expectatio"

"I have just moved to the area & am a repeat customer until last night 3/16/13,I have never in my life had a waiter tell me i had to order my appetizers & dinner at the same time so they can turn the table & i had a 7:15 reservation,he was rude & my whole eveing with my husband was rushed,The rudest most unpersonable waiter i ever encountered. The food is always awesome at Bellisimos but now im hesitant to return, this is simply unexceptable in the hospitality business. We have beenhere quite often in the last 2 months & never had this happen, so disappointing when this was a favorite i enjoyed so very much, People in the restaurant business should make you feel comfortable & leave having the best dining experience,this didnt!! So unhappy!"

"My 8 p.m. res. meant I would be placed on the res. list. Those who seemed known were promptly escorted to their table. The waiter was unpersonable and wanted our order quickly to “stay on top of his game”.
Apps were tasty. Entrees were cold. Cold halibut (which I think was substituted with grouper) with congealed sauce and tuna perfect at med. rare – a temp that matched the mushrooms. An apology and refire seemed to bring the entrees to luke warm. Entrees had good flavor, even at “just warm”. A free entrée was mentioned, but never came to fruition. A long wait, two cold entrées and a less-than-personable waiter still qualified for a full fare check! You’ll go once for food, but return for the service! I of course will never be back!!"

"What a refreshing experience! I love the old Bellissimo that was closed in 2007 and was totally surprised to know that the same owner came back and reopen it after two other failed resturants in the same loaction by other people. The food is well prepared and nicely done. Service is top notch and the decor is just out of the world! so beautiful!! we are so happy to have the even-better brand-new old Bellissimo back to the neighborhood!"

"We celebrated my dads 70th birthday and had six people in our party. The food was fine but the noise level was so loud in the room that it actually made the restaurant experience unenjoyable. For that reason, I wouldn't go back again because it wasn't pleasurable for me to scream to my party on the other side of the table."

"This is the third coming for Belissimo and likely the best. The newly remodeled space is the nicest yet as they wisely kept the well designed bar and fireplace area making it cozy and hip all in one, a step up from their last more formal setting. Food was great as always with lots of fresh specials and a good staff to serve them. Very good indeed."

"I used to visit this restaurant years ago and was happy to see it reopen. Food is as good as I remember, if not better. Service is outstanding and wine is excellent. A couple of suggestion, prices should be given with the specials. Also, the specials were exactly the same as they were 5 years ago, maybe something new would be in order."
