Late Harvest Kitchen combines the best elements of fine dining with the accessibility of a neighborhood restaurant. The menu features professionally crafted seasonal American cuisine. An emphasis is placed on genuine hospitality and professional service that anticipates our guest’s needs. The restaurant’s design includes re-claimed wood and brick throughout to evoke a feeling of warmth and comfort. The dining room looks outward towards our spacious courtyard which features the most romantic outdoor dining space in Indianapolis. "My sister and I went to LHK for the first time this week because of good reviews, location, and to spend our first Open Table check!
We got the fried oysters, caviar pie small plates and split the schnitzel big plate and added a side of cauliflower. I loved the oysters; my sister liked the taste but would have preferred the tough "feet" muscles be removed. The caviar pie w/ toast points was good, but the caviar was so mild the egg flavor overruled everything. The schnitzel w/ brussel sprouts was terrific. The cauliflower w/ raisins and almonds was also good, but not to die for. All-in-all, the service was fine, our waiter knowledgeable, the food good, the price point moderate, and the dining experience pleasant."

"The food was great but took forever to get it. We did not get our food until after a table of 6 and a table of 2 finished eating and we were seated before both tables. Not sure if the server forgot to put in our order or the kitchen was backed up. Inside was nicely remodeled."

"Great food. Big Plates mean big portions, my pork chop was huge but cooked perfectly. Bread is optional and unnecessary if ordering an appetizer. Interesting that there are no salt and pepper shakers on the table, but my food was seasoned perfectly. Sides and dessert are made for sharing."

"We could not enjoy our evening with friends as the noise level was so loud we had to shout at each other to be heard. The waiter seemed to be too busy to really take care of our table. Food was okay. Other people, who had dined previously dined at Late Harvest, told us they would not recommend Late Harvest, but we wanted to experience it for ourselves. However, we will not return."

"We were looking forward to celebrating a birthday at Late Harvest because it was highly recommended.
We were extremely dissapointed. Our waiter de-bonded the fish for at least 2 other customers and did not offer the service at our table. Otherss had an easier time of consuming the fish. Inconsistent customer service. The roasted vegtables were soggly and last the founder would have to be a hugh fish as as it was very thick. Flounder are flat fish.
We will not recommend this restaurant"

"The ambiance is great, and the staff is very friendly. The appetizers were great. My halibut was awesome, but my fiancé's ribeye was not very good at all. Extremely hard to get through the second half (super fatty, impossible to "get around" tendon, ect.) even though the first half of the steak was actually great. But... All was forgotten when we ordered the Sticky Toffee Pudding. It was almost a religious experience, it was so incredible. Add that to their Sancho cocktail and those are reason enough to return. Overall great place."

"First visit to Late Harvest and will definitely go back. Excellent food and outstanding service - attentive, helpful but not overwhelming. The Mulholland Drive was an interesting drink to start with, and we took the server's recommendation to try the shaved brussels sprouts salad - delicious. My friend devoured his rare ribeye, and I loved the perfectly cooked pork chop with an interesting sauce. It was huge, and half went home. We should have shared the divine chocolate mousse (as the server suggested) instead of ordering two, which neither of us could finish. An outstanding, if pricey, meal but definitely worth it."

"I read many good ratings about this restaurant so I was excited to take some out of town family there. The service was average at best. No help with picking a wine or spending much time with us. There were 5 of us and we ordered 4 different entrees. Two of them the server recommended. The Cheek to Cheek was salty and was over powering with too many flavors going on. The hanger steak was tasty but chewy. The mahi-mahi was sitting in a broth with wilted veggies. None of the dishes wowed us with taste or presentation. I am not overly picky, but for the price this was a highly over-rated and disappointing experience. I will not go back."

"We enjoyed the atmosphere and our waiter was very good but the food... We were very disappointed by the food, all of it. We were expecting a wonderful meal and it was bland and tasteless. Literally, not one thing we ordered was great. Save your money and try another restaurant."

"Another awesome experience at Late Harvest. The food was excellent as usual, and the service made the night very enjoyable. One of the highlights of the evening happened when our waiter from our previous visit remembered us, and came over to talk to us and say hi to our kids. I highly recommend this restaurant."

"Chef driven menu that does not disappoint where the food is concerned. The shaved brussel sprout salad is a favorite that I get each time I fine here. The roasted vegetables were bland this time and overcooked. The swordfish was prepared properly but the cut was an awkward piece so not overall as delightful as in the past. We had 2 or 3 servers this evening so this is the poor rating. Not one of the servers was at our table to ask if our food was prepared properly. The plates were cleared. I had had spotty service here before but the food is delicious."

"One of the best restaurants in Indy, IMHO, with an emphasis on sustainably raised meats and local produce. Great Atmosphere, Excellent Service. Good Cocktail Menu, reasonable wine list with a number of good choices. Not cheap, but worth the price. Food comes out hot, not after sitting on the counter for ten minutes - the sign of a well run kitchen."

"The food and drinks were fabulous. I was there with 2 friends celebrating my birthday. The only complaint I would have is that our waiter was so condensending. Every time he came to our table, he referred to us as "girls." I haven't been a girl for several years and I do really hate it when adults use that label. I would never let that keep me from going back for dinner, though."

"2nd time to visit Late Harvest.....I was there on a cold early March evening and it was "packed" I know why.....It is outstanding....and I am a Food Snob....unusual and creative preparation of standard fare.......but without the "fluff" of some places when you cannot taste the main ingredient. Love the use of local farms and produce as much as possible."

"The decor: chic and comfortable, with several smaller dining spaces rather than one large room.
They have a unique menu of special cocktails, several of which we tried and enjoyed. Two small plates yielded mixed results. The house signature dish, essentially a hot fish spread, was outstanding. The grilled Caesar was served with fried smelt; less delicious than it was an interesting variation. Of four entrees, three were very good, the daily fish special not so much. It came with absolutely nothing else on the plate - not even a parsley sprig. The server had a hard time filleting it because it was overcooked and therefore too dry to easily remove the bones. I'll visit again in spring or summer when more local supplies are availabl"

"Great restaurant! The food is wonderful and the staff does an exceptional job. Plus, they were very nice to our young boys. Some "nice" restaurants seemed confused about children, but the Late Harvest staff made it a fun night for my kids. We will definitely be back."

"The menu presented quite a few selections that differ from the usual restaurant fare. I selected lemon sole piccata. The first bite hit me as unexpectedly -- too -- lemony -- but then I recalibrated and greatly enjoyed it. The sole was very lightly browned and cooked to an appropriate degree. The mix of lemons and capers was flavorful. The portion was ample but not likely to foster obesity. My wife ordered the fettucine with pancetta and pistaccios. She was OK with it but not overly thrilled. Fortunately, for me, she only ate half of it, so I got to wolf down the rest for lunch the next day. I thought the unique mix of flavors was really good -- the smoky pancetta and the sweet-nutty pistaccios. Waiter: attentive, not officious."

"This is one of the best restaurants in the Indianapolis area. The food is fresh, the cooking is imaginative and the service is good. Indianapolis needs independently owned and operated restaurants where chefs can practice their culinary skills. This is an opportunity for foodies to support this restaurant so that it succeeds and in the process it spawns more restaurants like the Late Harvest Kitchen."
