"Manassas' Malones Restaurant is a neighborhood gem. The food was prepared well, tasty, and was esthetically pleasing. The service was sincere and friendly. The wine and beer selection was varied and good. Dessert menu was small but well thought out, especially the Bourbon Bread Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream. The restaurant is located downstairs next to the bar area which made it loud at times and hard to carry on a conversation. I hope the remodeling project of the upstairs will remedy the noise issue. I plan on returning to Malones with friends and/or family in the future. Although somewhat pricey, the food, service, and ambiance is worth it. Thanks for reading."

"The food was quite good. The noise level was unbearable. We arrived on time for our reservation and waited 20 minutes to be seated. Our table was in the middle of the room between the booths and the bar. We had to ask for the wine list. We would not recommend this restaurant, but if you can put up with the noise and lack of service the food is very good. Definitely not a place for a quiet dinner."

"When was the last time you went in a business and every person you came in contact with cared. For me it was Saturday night. From the time my girlfriend and I arrived up until the second we left. Very happy, energetic and caring staff. I almost forgot the food was excellent also. It was an excellent date spot. Can't wait to go for Sunday Brunch. Thank you Malones."

"Mediocre food, verrrry slow service. Went for Sunday brunch. Sat forever before anyone took our order. We were eventually served a rather mundane omelette, as well as eggs benedict with crab cakes that had more filler than crab meat and were virtually inedible. Both were accompanied by what appeared to be the previous day's leftover baked potatoes that had been cubed up, browned (actually, nearly burned), and were masquerading as very wretched hash browns. Would have had better food and service at IHOP. A very disappointing meal. We will not be returning."

"I was so pleasantly surprised by my first dining experience at Malone's. We gathered for an early Mother's Day dinner on a Friday evening and it couldn't have gone better than starting the festivities off here. All of the staff were very friendly and attentive... the interior is beautiful, contemporary but still warm and inviting... and the food is divine! We took turns swapping bites of steaks and veggies (I ordered the Red Wine Flatiron Steak, with whipped potatoes and kale--highly, highly recommended!) and topped it off with coffee and cheesecake. Couldn't say that there was a bad bite at the table. Bravo to Malone's for an incredible evening!"

"We made last minute reservations for our anniversary. The restaurant was busy, even for 5:30 on a Saturday. As others have mentioned it is a bit loud, which is fine for bar area, I really would like to dine upstairs once they open that area, having eaten there before. This would make a great balance of quiet and energetic dining experiences. The food was served on time and was very good, my wife had the rib eye and the fillet center cut. Our waitress did a good job all be it she was young, as another reviewer mentioned it would certainly raise the bar to have a seasoned wait staff, especially upstairs where one could enjoy a quiet dinner. All in all very nice, Manassas needs a fine dining experience such as this one offers!"

"First time dining at Malone's. Was a last minute decision to go for brunch. The brunch menu was delicious. The staff was very friendly and attentive. "Malones recently opened in Old Town Manassas in the unique old church building. The transformation from the previous restaurant is amazing! It is open and bright and the wood bar adds a wonderful warmth. The attention to detail is spot on. I look forward to seeing what they do with the upstairs. The food was absolutely wonderful! We had dinner on a Saturday evening and brunch on Sunday morning. The food did not disappoint. If I had any complaint, and I really don't, it would be that they need to refine their service. The service was good but it's that added little attention to details that can make all the difference. For example, when asking a question the server needed to check but then never got back to us with the answer."

"All of the menu items sounded great. The attendant was over anxious to take my plate once it was half empty and asked too many times if I was done with my food. I ordered the "Ribeye" steak with chimichurri. The flavor was excellent but I could only eat about half of the steak because of the thick band of grissle that ran around the outside of the steak, not fat, but grissle or tendon or BF Goodrich. I have had enough beef to know that this was not a Ribeye, but some form of NY Strip. The fish that my wife had was delicious. Tables were too close together and I was being bumped by other customers throughout my meal. They are getting ready to open more seating upstairs, which should help. I would recommend with a warning."

"Food was very good, but not really a good choice for an anniversary dinner. Happy hour was still ongoing and the noise level was such we could hardly hear each other. This along with the brilliant sunshine coming through the window, although pleasant to have the sunshine, made the atmosphere less than ideal. Perhaps the table arrangement could be adjusted to avoid this or a blind on the front window. We could have also dined later in the evening and perhaps the atmosphere would have been different. Even though the bar had charged for a full bottle of wine, when only a glass was ordered, the waitress corrected immediately. All in all, based on the food we will try again at this local gem."

"We visited Malones on a Friday night at around 6:30pm; it was busy but not yet packed. Seating was tight; we were seated at a table for 2 in the middle of the room and had to squeeze a bit between tables, servers and a pillar to get there (good thing we're both thin!). Had trouble hearing each other over the noise, so conversation was difficult. Service was very good, aside from allowing my coffee cup to get almost empty during dessert (a major strike, in my book!). Food was also very good; mushroom risotto with scallops was delicious, if a touch mushy, and my dining partner was pleased with the surf & turf. We look forward to the opening of the upstairs, as the current space is very tight and loud."

"Dined here with my husband, 6 month old daughter, and parents. We were greeted and seated promptly; they were accomdating for our stroller. We had a few questions of our server regarding the wine menu, which she was not able to answer. We started with the mussels special (tomato vs cream based broth), which were very tastely, large in size, and a good portion to share with 4. Three of us got the mahi-mahi special - very well done. My husband got the surf and turf (petite filet and crab cake). The filet was very good, cooked to medium rare, as he ordered it. The crab cake left something to be desired. It was mostly filler and overcooked. Chocolate cake dessert was "one of the best" my dad has ever had! Overall recommend."

"Food was very good. We had a great waiter who made some excellent recommendations. Our appetizer was a little late coming out out of the kitchen, but the manager graciously took it off our check without us even asking. And, once it arrived, the appetizer was outstanding (mussels). Really, the only complaint I have is the noise level. Lots of hard surfaces and a packed house meant it was sometimes difficult to have a conversation. There were just two of us (anniversary dinner), so it was easy to lean in closer. I couldn't imagine trying to hold a conversation with a larger party.
Overall, though, we had a nice meal out and would recommend Malone's."

"The menu was nice with a good variety of entre's and specias of the day. Service wss good, the owner manager stopped by our table to chat and check on the food and service. This restaurant is good with the potential to be great. We will go back to try more on the menu. Portions are large enough that my wife and I split two appetizers (shrimp and grits are a must try!), split a fresh salad and couldn't finish our entre's. They were great the next day for lunch."

"This was the first time my husband and I dined at Malones for brunch. It was outstanding. The food was absolutely delicious. The portions are huge and very reasonably priced based on how much you get. My husband got the french toast and I got the blueberry pancakes. Presentation of the food is amazing as well. "Went to Malones for my moms bday. Atmosphere is very nice. A bit pricey but the food was good. The salad was good but I would not recommend it for your main course, there's not a lot too it. The Pinot noir was good $8 a glass. All in all a good dining experience. The two of us paid $120 for dinner which included 20 percent tip. Service was excellent. I am waiting for the upstairs 40 seat pub to open."

"Malone's was a new experience for us. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and wanted a special dining experience. Also wanted to try somewhere new. Had reviewed the menu and thought it was right for us. The experience didn't disappoint. Nicely appointed and good ambience. Very comfortable seating. Service had just the right amount of attention, not intrusive. Food was outstanding. I would highly recommend the crab-stuffed trout. "Being a Southern girl, I tried the grits with seared scallops - A real winner! The grits were very creamy, scallops large and perfectly prepared. On another occasion I had the filet which was so tender you could cut it with a fork. The "GOTTA TRY" side dish is sweet & sour kale. I never liked kale but Malone's' Chef will make a hater love it! Two in our party had shrimp scampi and said the shrimp were very tender and the sauce very light and tasty. The Happy Hour bar menu has something for every palate. The staff is attentive and very friendly but not overpowering. We will definitely return because the food is great, ambience relaxing, and they made us feel like they really appreciated we were there."

"The ambiance and general feel of Malone's was relaxed, elegant and inviting. Our server was attentive, funny and overall extremely pleasant. Four of us ordered the 8oz Filet - and each steak was cooked perfectly - (that hasn't happened for me in a long time)! Let's not forget a very delicious blueberry martini which one from our party had to have two of. Great place and will be going again and bringing others to experience."

"Our 4th time there - great restaurant and great addition to the Old Town Manassas dining choices. I ordered the surf and turf and asked that the steak be prepared medium-well. This was one of only a few times that it actually came out cooked the way I liked and was still perfectly tender and moist. Also, the warm Brie salad was wonderful! Highly recommend this restaurant!"

"A reservation was made for 7:30 on a Saturday night. Our party didn't get seated until almost an hour after that. I understand that they have only been open for a month, but if you're unable to honor the reservations until you have your system worked out, they should only be taking walk-ins. The food was good and priced in line with what you would expect for the level of food that was served. The service needs some work. A substitution was forgotten and then when reminded the wrong side was brought out."

"This is a new restaurant in Manassas; upscale where there hasn't been. The food was tasty and plentiful; the server still obviously learning. The current restaurant is located in the daylight basement of an old Manassas landmark church while the former church itself upstairs is being renovated. Once this is done and main dining area moves upstairs I'm confident the ambience for fine dining will improve even more. The menu choices are sufficient for now, and for those who rarely go out for an expensive meal, but as diners become regulars they will soon tire of the choices unless change and specials become regular features. Try it, you will like it."

"We had a great date night at Malone's on Friday. The wait staff was very attentive, and the food was fantastic. We had the Mushroom risotto with shrimp, which was excellent and our NY Strip was perfectly cooked at Med Rare. The price was a little high, but about what we expected. It's good to see another very good restaurant in Manassas."

"This was our second time dining at Malone's and it again did not disappoint.
This is a wonderful restaurant and we are so happy to have another great addition to the Old Town Manassas dining scene.
The food is amazing and the soups are not to be missed!
Also, the fish is done so perfectly that there is no fishy taste - even in fish that typically are stronger in flavor.
Try the Blueberry- tini as it is very refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness.
Kevin, the owner, is a wonderful host and the Chef even came around to ask how everyone liked the food.
Definitely a favorite for us!"

"The entire evening was wonderful. Our meals were delicious, and the waitress staff and chef were very helpful in providing a meal that was meat and dairy free. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and provides an intimate setting for dinning, as well as a very nice bar."
