Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman is a place where foodies, beer lovers, and families escape the stresses of their day to day lives by enjoying an ice cold beer and a great meal while surrounded by people who consider them honored guests and friends.

Thirty-six craft beers served at twenty-nine degrees are on tap, representing the coldest beer and best selection of microbrews on the island. Our culinary cocktails feature unique ingredients such as acai spirit, coconut water, and Kula lavender. "We had a business meeting at this restaurant and were seated in a circular booth. It worked well except when the music got too loud. The food is tasty but the salad servings are noticeably small. Greens are relatively inexpensive and it is pennies to have a presentation that feels satisfactory when you are having salad for lunch (which all of us, 4 guys and a gal were doing.)
The squash raviolis were over cooked and gummy.
We will come again more for for the service and location rather than the food. Perhaps we will try other items on the menu."

"Took my mom & dad out for lunch. There wasn't much on the menu that caught my eye. We ordered Pumpkkn Ravioli for apps, it was great. Chose Ahi Tuna sandwich. It was ok, nothing really great about it. $20 for a sandwich & had to add on fries. The waitress was very friendly and made a few recommendations. Service was timely and food didnt take too long to come out. This place wasn't bad, but not great either. I wouldn't recommend just because I could get the same food for less than half the price."

"The place was really busy and we were not able to get the terrace as planned. However, the outdoor dining area on the first floor was very nice. The food was great and the waitress was awesome. The two man band playing while we ate was really good too. The music was appropriate and not too loud. We will definitely go again and recommend the place to friends. I also recommend getting a reservation through Open table."

"The Kale salad is my favorite ! My husband had the Cesar salad and my daughter had the beet salad , they were both delish!
I enjoyed the fish and chips , others in our party ordered the gnocchi and the steak... All were delishes.
Dessert was the awesome strawberry pie! We are always seated on time or within a few mins of our reservation. Prices are reasonable for such awesome food. Can't wait to go back"

5:15 Seated outside directly in the blazing 80+ degree sun with zero shade - figure we can deal with it. (not ideal with 2 small children).
5:30 - Nope! Ask server if we could move to 1 of 2 open shaded tables. Dismissed outright. (Waitress:''Yeah it's so hot in the sun! Sorry we are really busy, it wont be possible!')

"If not for our table being partially in the sun, we would have enjoyed our time there more. The food was exquisite, the ambiance prefect, the service great. Maybe if a wider child's menu was provided my children could have had a better choice in eating alongside the older children and adults at the table.

"This is possibly our most favorite restaurant on Oahu. The ambiance is casual trendy and the scenery is gorgeous. The service and food were wonderful, and the live music was not obnoxiously loud and overbearing (finally! a place where we can hear live music AND talk at the same time. Wow! What a concept). We appreciated that they use local ingredients, as well. We will definitely be back...often."

"The GM at Roy's KoOlina had mentioned Monkeypod Kitchen on our last dining in April. Decided to try out the newest of Chef Merriman's restaurant. Parking can be a problem, so go early. Valet Service starts at 5pm. We were seated inside. A duo was performing outside. The volume was on high but the Staff lowered it so my hubby & I could talk & hear each other. We ordered the Garlic & Truffle Fries, Ceasar Salad, the Steak Special & the Turkey Burger. All were good. This is an impressive place, large, 2 levels, good food, friendly Staff, clean and NEW. Great for party & dining with Friends & Family. But we warned, this is an expensive casual place for dining in the KoOlina area."

"This was our first time dining at Monkeypod for dinner. It is a huge difference from the quieter lunch hour. That being said, the food & service do not suffer at all. Even with both floors packed and awful weather, restaurant operations seemed to flow smoothly. Our server was personable & efficient, providing excellent recommendations & checking in often without being intrusive. We are not on that side of the island very often, but will definitely make it a point to return to Monkeypod when we are."

"The dinner is simply the lunch menu. The fries are overcooked, beers listed were not available, and the noise level was just too high ofr a relaxing meal. I wouldn't go again."

"This was our first visit to Monkeypod Kitchen. I had seen previous reviews and they were all very good. We chose outdoor dining on the patio. They had live music which was very entertaining and appropriate. The food and the service were excellent. We would definitely return again."

"The location is the greatest asset for this restaurant. The local competition for MK is sparse and . This a great local restaurant that is lively and provides a very good dining experience. The menu has both the traditional items that you would expect as well as a surprising amount of more exotic selections. Overall everyone will find something to satisfy the hunger and taste buds - and no one will leave hungry or disappointed.
It is location that is unique since it provides a great dining experience for the population of the fastest growing area of Oahu. Living in West Oahu now makes more sense: availability of diverse retail shopping, a soon to open hospital and growing number of local restaurants - with MK leading the the pack."

"food was good.. the ambiance was perfect for my family and I. the service was terrible!! it took our server almost 10 minutes to greet us.. then, he took our drink order which was juice and soft drinks and appetizer order (ahi poke, garlic fries, and ordered the kids food- 2 chz pizzas and 1 quesadilla)waited another 10 minutes or so.and got our food before the drinks! what's up with that?! especially when we had 4 kids, you would think the server would try to at least get their drinks out first.then finally after we got our drinks and appetizers (about 25 minutes after we were seated) our server finally comes by to take our dinner order.then after 40 minutes we get our dinner!. for service was a ZERO out of 10"

"From the moment my party and I arrived, we were in awe. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable of their menu. The food was absolutely delicious from the appetizers to the dessert. I do caution though, look at your bill to make sure you were charged for what was ordered. I almost had to pay for someone else's drinks...YIKES!"

"The piped in music was a bit too loud. Had to talk above it. Everyone in my pty enjoyed their meals. I shared the bulgogi taco and Reuben with a friend and we loved it. I thought it was the best Reuben I have had. Not too lean and not to fatty and the bread was crunchy. The garlic fries were awesome too.
We all commented that it was very warm in the restaurant. Can't imagine what summer would be like.
I will go back as I enjoyed the food. Thank you."

"I found the food (the macadamia nut crusted fish of the day) very salty and the pineapple salsa to be sadly unremarkable. All it needed was some flavor ~ perhaps some cilantro?
The coconut pie had a distinctly pasty taste, like too much thickening had been added. The crust however was excellent. I wish I had tried it there instead of for takeout. My fellow diners had very favorable comments on the strawberry pie.
I found the noise to be excessive and not able to carry on a conversation. Perhaps our next visit we will want to try a lunch instead."

"Food was excellent. Service was great! Ambiance was great - outdoor dining looking at the Ko'Olina golf course. It was a little noisy and we could hear the next table's entire conversation because he was a loud-talker.
