"-Overall, it was ok. But for the price, there are better steakhouses around.
-Regarding the food, the steaks were excellent. The Ribeye & Filet were both cooked to perfection. The appetizers & sides were so-so. The lobster bisque flavor was good, but it was served just above room temperature. We ordered raw oysters, most were meaty, some didnt even seem worth putting on the tray. The creamed spinach wasn't creamy enough for my taste. I enjoyed the flavorful and cheesy dauphinoise potatoes. My wife didnt, she thought they were too salty.
-The service was a bit non-personable, but adequate. I would also think that being there for the first time, & with a 10 year old child, the wait staff would be a bit more attentive and friendly."

"When you make a reservation for a specific time, I don't expect to wait a half hour afterwards to be seated.
When I valet park the car, i don't expect to wait 20 minutes to get my car.
The only feedback you're going to get from me to you and others considering visiting your Casino, will be negative."

"We tried Council Oak for the first time. It did not compare to other high end restaurants. My medium well order took a very long time and then arrived rare. They attempted to fix it, which resulted in it being charrred. They did comp my entre which I never ate, but took my fork for the baked potatoe which they did charge me for. Waitress came to the table infrequently. We had to rush our order as she kept trying to leave. I think they were understaffed.
Also, the meat shop is near the dining area. So, we heard a buzz saw all evening cutting bone. It was loud and unsettling."

"I reserved a table three weeks in advance. This was my first visit to the council oak, but I have been to the Hard Rock many times. They Seated us to the closest table to the kitchen. Which meant that a server had to walk by us at least once a minute and we could hear banging of dishes the whole time and co workers talking and joking around the whole time. In my opinion that table should not be there at all it is all alone and out of the way. This was also my wifes 30th birthday dinner. Her food was great, so was mine, However I did not recieve the mushroom melody that I ordered with my filet and steak fries. This place is by far not worth the experience and the pricing is way over what it should be."

"I've been searching restaurants in the Tampa area that served Alaskan King crab and I came across this restaurant and noticed one review for Council Oak's Alaskan crab. It was out of the park delicious which was perfect since we dined there for my husband's birthday and he always requests Alaskan king crab on his birthday. They even broke the crab so we didn't have to work to eat our food which we didn't mind but it was a nice change. It's a little pricey which we knew a head of time but totally worth it for a truly delicious meal and great service. We will be sure to go back there again."

"Reservations were recommended, so I made a reservation the night before our visit, choosing the first time slot when the reservation opened at 5pm. We had to wait about 5 minutes for our table. My spouse requested a different table, and we were easily accommodated. Water, menus, and bread arrived in a timely manner. It took awhile, approximately 30 minutes for our food to arrive. (My husband had ordered a filet mignon, well-done, but had suggested that it could be butterflied to reduce the cooking time; I had ordered a salad.) Service was attentive, but not over-bearing. The food was outstanding. The filet had been undercooked (medium-well, at best, instead of the requested well-done), but the server had it finished off."

"I submit my response not to recommend this establishment with a bit of reservation. The food was very good. The service was excellent and the restaurant decor is very very nice. However, two things made the evening not as enjoyable as it could have been and honestly these two factors will make a return visit very unlikely ... noise and cigarette smoke. The noise level is quite much, making conversation a bit frustrating. The presence of cigarette smoke is even more significant than the noise levels. Notable cigarette smoke interfering with my enjoyment of a $200.00 meal isn't going to happen again. I suppose I should say shame on me though as perhaps my expectations of a restaurant situated in the middle of a casino were too just high."

"In Tampa looking for a good steak - hardly would go to the Hard Rock - but this was a fantastic experience. Service was outstanding. Food was over the top fantastic. And most important - a small problem (fish a little overcooked, I should've just ordered a steak like the rest of my party) - was resolved quickly, manager came over, barely seemed like a problem.
It is pricey but I tasted my friend's steak - and you get what you pay for - yummy. If we're back in East Tampa - we will come back for certain."

"Superb food. Beautifully prepared and presented. Impressive ambiance. Excellent service. Somewhat noisy. Expensive. I consider it a great place to impress guests and for special occasions. Burn's has long been considered Tampa's finest place for steak. Burn's is quieter. The food and service is far better at the Council Oak Steakhouse."

"The food taste was a step below Ruth Chris steakhouse. We were a little disapointed in the selection and quality of the food. The service was excellant. Food presentation was good. The noise in the room was annoying at times. I would try it again to see if the food quality was just a fluke."

"Remarkable experience. Requested a romantic booth for our anniversary. Felt secluded for our special occasion but not neglected by the staff. The 3 different seasoned salts served were unique and wonderful, especially the fireplace sea salt; oh the aroma. The cowboy steak cooked perfectly to order, the recommended lobster mac and cheese melted in our mouths and the recommended wine choice brought everything together and was priced right. And our little dog thanks you for the long-bone. Being from the east coast of Florida we can't become regulars but sure can't wait to go back for another fantastic meal. Thanks Council Oak!"

"The food and service was amazing. I made reservation via open table and let them know it was for my husbands birthday and they knew when I came in and they brought cake out at the end of the meal with out me having to figure out when I could ask them to do it. It was seamless and discreet. Absolutely loved it."

"Council Oak never dissapoints and tonight for our 21st Anniversary they nailed it again. We started at the bar to listen to a duet playing on the stage. I had a Raspberry Martini and my husband a cold Blue Moon. We ate appetizers at the bar, I had scallops (2 on the plate) - wish there was a bit more drizzle of balsamic glaze and a better 'sear' but I still rate them a 7. The Crab Cakes my husband had were mixed with fish and crab probably 60 fish 40 crab but tasty. Because of the mix, I would suggest a light honey mustard based sauce to accompany - my rating- 8, because there were plenty for us to share. We went to the hostess promptly at 7 and were seated immediately in a private booth. Ordered ribeye and spinach - both 10++++"

"We could hear music from the lounge that was competing with music in the dining room. The bread was excellent and our server was terrific. our steak was prepared perfectly medium rare and the crab legs were sweet and meaty. The asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes were good but overpriced for sure. We came for a birthday celebration and were disappointed to find a 30 minute wait for dessert preparation. Perhaps the server should mention that when taking order."

"Went to the Council Oak for My Wife and I 2nd anniversary and had one of the most amazing meals ever. The Service was outstanding and the food was to die for. Everything from our appetizer to salad to our entree was perfect. I had the Bone in Ribeye and my wife had the twin lobster tails and bothe meals were absolutely Amazing and by far the greatest meal we have eaten."
