"Very cool interior that allows for bistro seating without feeling like you are sitting in a stranger's lap. The service was at tentative for the most part and our server was knowledgable of the menu items when we had questions. The martini I had was wonderful. However, the food did not impress me as much as I had hoped. The seafood soup was a bit bland, and although the lamb dish that my husband ordered was very flavourful, the lamb itself was chewy."

"This was a great place to celebrate a special occasion with my partner. The food was delicious--"fit for foodies"-- yet the atmosphere remained less pretentious than other restaurants with similar goals.
Our selection of Meze was delightful, and allowed us to try some things that we typically wouldn't have tasted otherwise. The Patliçan Yogürtlü was delicious and I would not have tried it if our server had not pointed it out.
Thank you for a lovely night, and thank you for working to make our downtown neighbourhood an even more inviting and fun place to spend time."

"We went on a Tuesday night and it was dead, so hard to judge how the ambiance and service would normally be. We went because we have heard many good word of mouth reviews and our expectations were met. I will try going back on a weekend when they are busy and see how that experience is. The food was all very good. We sampled alot of the menu and nothing was below our expectation. Overall good experience and delicious food."

"Service was great at the start of the night; the waiter was extremely helpful!! but then towards the end of the night, we were not able to locate him; we ask for a coffee we never received; and the bill had the wrong amount printed on it (we had a living social voucher--$40 for $80 worth of food, and whoever printed the bill only took $30 off your final amount). It was a disappointing end to a night that started off so well."

"We were very disappointed in the Osso Buco. At $32.00 one would have expected a very good meal. It was all bone, gristle & fat with a few slivers of meat. The heap of discards was left on the plate. We mentioned it to the server and he said that he'd look into it but the bill came and wasn't mentioned again. There was also more bone & skin in the chicken Tajine than on my previous visit so it appears that the quality of the meat wasn't as good as it was 2 months ago. This was our second visit, not sure that we'd go back."

"We had a great time at Arkadash: the food was delicious and varried, the lounge was comfortable and not too loud, and the cocktails were outstanding. I appreciated particularly the variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes (and the fact that they were clearly indicated on the menu).
Our only (fairly mild) criticism is that the service, while attentive, was a touch disorganized."

"The food was great. The waiters and waitresses were pleasant but the service was way too slow. We had concert tickets for 8:00 so I mad reservations for 6:00. We didn't get our main course until 7:45. Basically we wolfed down what we could of your delicious fare and arrived at the concert 10 minutes late.Such a shame."

"We went as part of the "Dine About Winnipeg" promotion. I have eaten Moroccan food before but my friend hadn't so we thought this wood be a new experience for her. I had the Chicken Tajine which had little flavor and only a very few prunes and slivered almonds. My friend has the promotional special and it definitely was not worth $40. There wasn't enough choices and every part of the meal had eggplant?? The eggplant appetizer was very oily. The bean entree tasted predominately burnt from the roasted(burnt)eggplant?? The service and the ambiance was good.In retrospect, we would have had a better experience at Sidneys or The Current."

"From the moment we stepped through the door until we left, we felt special. We were celebrating a romantic Valentines Day and this was a great place to do that. We were unsure what to choose of the various Mediterranean dishes but received excellent advice on both the food and the wine. The dessert for two thrilled us and was a great finish to the meal. The only minor downside to the evening was the overall price. However, we knew this ahead of time through their excellent website, so there was no surprise and it was simply part of having a wonderful time out together. Thanks, Kelvin and staff! We hope to be back! :-D"

"Great if not superior food. Too noisy to talk. Great design. Mediocre service except for visit from the chef-owner. We got our meal before we got the pre-dinner order and wine. Good value for money. Valet parking was billiant!"

"Our first experience was very good overall. Food presentation and tastes were divine. Service was good. We had to relocate from initial booth as our neighbours were very loud (lunch time chatter). The only disappointment was the parking. There was none. Had to circle the block several times."

"Really like the idea of variety when selecting a restaurant so we chose Arkadash. Also a handy location for dinner before an MTS Centre event (go Jets go!).
The food was good, particularly if you like stew type meals. Eggplant mese's are tasty, but the mushroom pate was unexciting. The specials we had were good, a chicken/ammeretto baked in phyllo with feta and their most popular chicken dish.
The place was cool and never did warm up while we were there. It was a cold day outside so the old building couldn't keep up. Chairs were neat looking but uncomfortable after an hour.
Overall, recommend trying, though a little unsure about the value/uniqueness for the price."

"The food quality was definetly not worth the pricing. We even left a couple of the dishes with only 1 bite eaten from it and the waitress asked if we were done without even asking if we enjoyed the meal or asked why the meal was left barely touched. The drinks were probably the worst concoctions I've ever tasted. The arkadash coffee, though substantially overpriced, was quite delicious. I will defintely not return though. Overpriced, poor service, mediocre calibre of food"

"I was extremely disappointed in my meal at Arkadash. On a freezing cold night, on our 6 month anniversary, they seated us right next to the door to outside, even though I had made reservations weeks in advance. the meal, which cost $120 for two of us, even though we just had 3 meze pieces and one large plate between us, with a bottle of wine, didn't even fill us up, and we had to get more food elsewhere later on. The spanish shrimp that we ordered was FOUR SHRIMP. the 'toenail of the dog' was essentially spinach dip, fit for potato chips. the circassian chicken tasted suspiciously like canned tuna. the piece of arctic char that I had was ok but it came with simple white rice and some nondescript mashed squash side. will not return."

"Good initial impressions, with nicely redeveloped space, with open feel. Service initially very attentive (almost cloying). Nice menu with lots of variety, but still had a focus.
Disappointment started with actual execution. Food looked good, well-presented. Not much flavor however, whether in the meze platter, or the entrees. Consistnet problem for all 4 entrees. Turkish beef and tajines had small service sizes, anly partially re-warmed, with small serving, especailly given 30 dollar level. Service also disappeared at this point, and had a tough time getting a check and getting out.
High hopes established early, failure to deliver."
