"Kell's is usually a very fun place. On Mother's Day though, the service was very slow particularly the kitchen. Breakfast was about one hour backed up. The staff apologized but this delay was not OK and very unusual for Kell's. I have eaten there many times for lunch/dinner without kitchen delays. Still a fun place to go"

"Kells has more of a genuine Irish pub atmosphere and cuisine than many of the "plastic pub" imitations. Worth a visit if you are in that mood, and the Guinness is the real McCoy weighing in at 20 oz."

"We had a party of seven and they had no trouble accommodating us when we made reservations just a few hours prior on a Friday night. The food was across the board yummy (we are a group of sharers) and the service was great. I do wish they had more outdoor seating though, because it was a tad warm inside (but hey, its Portland and not everywhere has air conditioning!) The cigar room and the tunnels added quite a bit of charm to the location. The only issue (slight) we had was the Shepherd's pie title ... Shepherds don't raise cows!! What they serve is actually a cottage pie!

Overall - tasty food, good atmosphere, great service - You should try it!"

"Food was perfect as so was the atmosphere. Prices are reasonable and the servers know that it is their job to make sure your dining experience is top notch. Everyone seemed to be on top of their game. We also visited the Cigar room and made a purchase. Next visit back to Portland will include a visit to Kells!"

"The perfect pub for celebrating a 21st birthday. Loved the free t-shirt to our birthday girl. It accommodated our party of 14 with ample space, great service, and their comfort food. The sheppards pie was so very delcious. Definitely a location to visit again when returning to Portland."

"Thank you so much for making our Easter dinner stress free! We had great food & great service! We will all be back again. We love food and eat out often, and ate kinda considered food snobs. So to impress can be hard ;-) but Kells passed with flying colors! Out of 16 plates and two apps, the only complaint would be the fish and chips were a little greasy. Over all we say two thumbs up to Kells! And open table was a breaze to book threw."

"We were a table of 4 and this was everyone's first visit to Kells. Thankfully we made reservations for 6pm on a Friday otherwise we would have had to wait a while for a table. We were seated right away, though on the way to our table the host literally stopped and walked off with two different employees and we weren't sure whether to follow her or not. We ordered about 10 minutes after being seated and our food arrived almost 40 minutes later. We were on our way to a concert, so we were concerned about waiting so long. The food was great and worth the wait, though there was never an apology about the long wait. Our drinks were only refilled once during our visit and our waitress was not very proactive with checking on us. Great food though!"

"My "GANG" and I - all Senior Citizens - have been eating out once per month since February 1989. This was their first trip to Kell's - although I had been there before - but it will not be our last. The menu selection is absolutely perfect. I wanted something of just about everything because they all sounded so delicious. The Corned Beef & Cabbage was so wonderful. It practically melted in my mouth but, when I ordered the Irish Creme` Brulee - that really did melt in my mouth. Portion is key, along with flavor and presentation, and Kell's has them all just right. What a wonderful meal we all shared. Everyone of the 8 folks at the table raved about their choices. The food, the staff, the ambiance - all earned 5 stars!"
