"I have been going to Michelangelo's now for 25 years and have never been disappointed!! The food is authentic, the service personal and where else will you find a tree growing in the middle of the dining room!! They even have live music playing in the background. Luv this place!"

"Michelangelo's was by no means awful, but I just didn't find it up to par with restaurants in the vicinity. We ordered Beef carpaccio and, while good, it was swimming in olive oil. My husband ordered Linguini Vongole and he said it was fine, but he was disappointed that there were no clams in the shell in his dish. I ordered Scallopini Piccata, which I have always had breaded but this time it was a rather unappealing, thin slice of plain veal lying on my plate. There was also a small portion of pasta but the presentation was not attractive. I was disappointed that the veal, which should be very tender, was tough and so plain. The Italian cake was good. We paid quite a lot of money for a pretty so so dinner. We don't plan to go back."

"Coming in from out of town for a convention can sometimes be difficult to find a place that can accommodate a large group of foodies. Used my open table app to find a place close by and fit 18 people. We had a nice private room set up for us and heard there was another party of 18 when I checked in. Food was delicious, especially the sea bass and Osso bucco. Highly recommend this place for great food and service at an affordable price."

"Disappointing $100.00 meal for two. Restaurant once a delightful experience, now in desperate need of a facelift. Menu is uninspired and ambience is lacking (with the sole exception of live music - piano and string instrument)."

"Probably better in the evening when the piano is playing. Kind of off the downtown area, so during lunch, it's not that crowded and quiet. That makes having a business discussion good. Not the greatest looking of areas surrounding the restauarant though; yet not unsafe either. Just a bit run down area."

"For many years, we frequented Michelangelo's. Then, for a time, we stopped going because the quality of the food seemed to have declined. We decided to give it another try since we had a restaurant.com gift card. We found the entire experience to be very good! The piano player was talented but not obtrusive. The service was friendly and attentive. And the food... very well prepared; tasted fresh and healthy and and was beautifully presented. So glad we returned to Michelangelos!!"

"I really like the over-all environment, service and location of this spot; however, I was not impressed with the food. My fiance ordered a shrimp scampi variation that could have passed for shrimp fettuccine alfredo. I ordered the shrimp/scallop/pesto dish and it had a very funny taste to it. I tried bites of my fiance's dad's plate, a combination of chicken parm, lasagna and pasta, and that was probably the most decent thing at the table and it was mediocre at best. The bread was good, the ceasar salad was good, the desserts were good...but boy when I got our bill, I almost passed out!"

"Had valentine's day dinner at Michelangelo's. We were seated promptly with a reservation, I wanted to mention that because it isn't always the case at many Houston restaurants.......so that's a positive. Overall the service was very good.
There was a limited menu due to the holiday, we had lamb and veal. Both were OK but not outstanding.
Wine choices were limited, the one I chose was OOS so we got an upgraded one at the same price.
Overall, I'd say it was an OK evening. Its hard to judge a restaurant you've never been to when you go on a big dining out night like valentine's day, so I say Michelangelo's was good enough to try again on a routine Friday or Saturday night."

"The food is great and the servers were very good. The only issue I have is that the tables are so close to each other that it makes it pretty difficult to hold a conversation."

"We have eaten at Michelango's on numerous occasion's and have always been very pleased with the food and service, along with the general atomosphere of the resturant. The only complanint I could lodge for this last meal was that it was a little to crowded. They seem to put too many tables in the main downstairs dining area to try and accomadate the Valentine day crowd. I really do not enjoy eating and visiting with my date, and be able to hear other couples conversation's sitting less than 2 feet from me."

"HORRIBLE SERVICE. Waiter literally forgot about our table we were stuck there for 3 hours. He kept saying sorry I forgot what I did at this table and still expected us to tip him. It would have literally been like giving someone some free cash on the street. Thats how invisible he was to our table. Food was not even worth the price of the valentines menu. HORRIBLE SERVICE."

"I took my partner there for Valentines Day. I really liked the setting, in the main dining room. We were seated in the room closest to the valet parking and it was quite noisy. You could hear the valet guys yelling and directing cars. The menu was very limited I thought. The appetizers were good. They then served a ceaser salad, which personally I do not like, so I asked for a house salad and they said that was unavailable. Which in my mind, I thought, if im paying $75 a person, and ask for a house salad, it shouldnt have been a problem . The main dishes were great. I had the lamb. It was cooked to perfection! Dessert was great as well. Its was extremely busy so we had to wait but overall the experience was good."

"The service was horrible. It took almost 30 minutes to receive our appetizers. Two appetizers were ordered but they brought only one. It took another 15 minutes to get the second appetizer. The entrees took almost 45 minutes to be served. The entree I ordered was rainbow trout with a topping of wine, capers, mushrooms and jumbo shrimp. When my entree was served, it was only the trout without the topping. When I informed the waiter all I received was an apology - there was not an offer to deliver the correct order or to reduce the price of the meal. I was so disappointed that I did not leave a tip. The waiter actually chased after me in the parking lot to beg me to leave a tip. Very unprofessional."
