"The food was outstanding and there was a nice selection of fresh fish in a variety of preparation choices. We loved the mussels! The tuna special was sushi quality and well prepared.Should have stopped before dessert but we shared a mango cheesecake which was delicious!"

"The restaurant was on Main Street in Canton. Lovely street view from the window seat we were placed in. It was a bit loud when we were trying to hear the menu choices and place our orders, which kind of led to a bit of a miscommunication issue with the server and one of our entrees didn't arrive at the same time as the others, but other than that little glitch, all was fine. The food was excellent, especially the grits that were served with my daughter's salmon and my son's halibut. I chose the crab trio, which was also excellent. I would recommend the restaurant for the service and the food."

"Third time eating at Costal K and each one has been excellent. Enjoyed a great beer at the bar while we waited for a booth to dine at. Fast and friendly service. Even on a busy night the food came out quickly and was delicious. I love the idea that the special fish changes nightly and you pick the perpetration method. Everything was great and we will be back."

"Everything, as usual, was extremely good at this gem of a restaurant. Although Goin' Coastal is well-worth a drive, we're so glad that it is in our neighborhood. The fried green tomatoes with lobster salad and the tuna poke continue to be our favorite appetizers."

"I am over 7 mths pregnant and really had a craving for seafood!. Multiple people had told me about Goin' Coastal so I thought we would try it out. Between the 4 of us we split 3 appetizers and they were all incredible! Fried pickle chips, crab cakes (hello!) and 'The Dip'. Equally delicious! My hubs and his Dad had the low country shrimp boil and they didn't waste a bite! They both felt like it was a never ending bowl but it was too good not to eat it all. The scallops were HUGE!
I got the lobster mac n cheese and while it was good, I would probably try something that included sides for variety next time. Not even sure what our 4th ordered as she inhaled it. Oh and then we topped it off with the pecan pie which was to die for!"

"We visited Goin Coastal because it's one of my parents' favorites. Our waitress was awful, and it made the overall experience very disappointing. Delivery of ordered items was delayed, because she was busy chatting, instead of efficiently doing her job. She attempted to be "cute" and make what she thought were funny comments, but the comments were either tacky or inappropriate. She didn't seem to know when to pick up used plates or an empty bottle of wine. When we ordered a second bottle of wine for the table, the manager pushed an alternate on us -- one that wasn't good. The waitress didn't step in to point out that we'd ordered something different. I will think long and hard before or if I return."

"I was skeptical at the idea of having seafood while nowhere close to the shore. But I was wrong- they had better than expected daily fresh fish on their "Daily specials chalkboard". Wow- really impressive. Cooked perfectly, I had the Alaskan Halibut blackened. The waitress recommended that it be "lightly seasoned" and she was right on! Balanced- spicey and flavorful. The basil cocktail rocks- gotta try one at least!"

"One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Outstanding fish served by a very knowledgeable and competent waitress. One of few restaurants that only serve sustainable fish. I would go back here in a heartbeat. Downtown Canton is beautiful. We had a table by the window overlooking the street. I found the ambiance quite pleasant."

"The pimento cheese dip with red onion jam was so yummy. Could have really made a meal of that but couldn't pass up the dinner special (halibut over swiss chard with roasted corn and tomato salsa and bacon vinaigrette). ""Going Coastal" is really one of Canton's Finest Restaurants.. Reasonably priced and their dishes are always impeccably served. The food is delicious and artfully prepared. However, if you come late, be prepared for them to be out of some items. I've never had a dish at "Going Coastal" that wasn't the best!"

"Wonderful restaurant! Unpretentious atmosphere, but the food is well prepared and delicious, the service is friendly and efficient without the irritating overbearance of the wannabee restaurants. Keep in mind that if you do not like seafood, this is not your restaurant. On the other hand, if you do enjoy seafood, this is your gastronomic paradise. Seafood is this restaurants concentration and what a delightful product they produce. In addition, the owners/management obviously care about the environment, with intentional attention to sustainability. I heartily recommend Goin' Coastal to any and all seafood wayfarers."

"This is not a kid friendly restaurant for sure, and don't ruin it for other adults looking to get a peaceful night out with other adults. Been there a couple of times, only complaint is they run out of the fresh oysters too early in the night. It was great we had some mussels instead and they were not up to taste for us, so they completely went above expectation took them from our table with no complaints and removed from our bill, requested if we would like a different starter and was complacent with our denial of anything else. Rest of meal was great. We ate soft shell crab and the scallop risotto."

"If money is no object and uninspired seafood is your thing, then this could in fact be the place for you. Unfortunately OpenTable only permits 300 characters for a review, so I must jump right in.
I had lobster bisque that really was more like lobster soup. It was very thin with only 4 miniscule lumps of lobster. My 3 cheese potatoes were served lukewarm and without any cheese. The blackened trout was unremarkable. The seafood platter was delicious although the portion size was small.
In summary, it's beyond me why this restaurant is rated so highly. When I want tasty seafood, larger portion sizes and a better value, I'm goin' to Pappadeaux's. I think even Red Lobster could do better, though I wouldn't dare take my girlfriend there."

"I love this restaurant. They have some of the best fish you'll ever eat. The service is usually fantastic, although the other night when I mentioned to the waitress that we had been sitting there for 15 min. (I had to ask another server where our waitress was) before she took our drink order, she said that "she was busy." No apologies. To be fair, she ended up being pretty good, but it certainly set the tone for the night."

"8 of us went to lunch and had a perfect spot to eat, service was great and it was quiet enough to talk. Everyone loved their food except for one person who said the sandwich bread was not good so it was left on the plate. We will definitely go there again as it was comfortable and enjoyable and we were also not rushed."

"Goin' Coastal continues it climb to the top spot in Metro Atlanta for seafood! Always amazed at the quality and innovative cuisine Zach Kell serves at his restaurants. The interesting part is that Goin' Coastal is in downtown Canton, GA 30 miles north of Atlanta!
The owner's and staff's attention to detail, use of top quality seafood products, cocncentration on sustainable seafood and use of local produce results in a winning combination! Combine that with servers that are well trained, friendly and very attentive - and you have the reason this is a not to miss seafood place! Also why we frequent weekly!"

"We began with shrimp and corn chowder & lobster pot pie fritters. Plenty of tasty shrimp in the chowder, a deliciously seasoned base, but too many potatoes didn't help it. Lobster fritters were a great way to ruin lobster. Hubby ordered low country shrimp boil; it came with very large & excellent shrimp. Corn was good too. Rest of the meal was mediocre at best (sausage, potatoes). I ordered swordfish off the daily board, chose parmesan preparation; it was delicious, large portion cooked & seasoned perfectly. I asked for cheese grits instead of potatoes, & they were absolutely awesome. Homemade desserts change daily. We had a cheesecake option & choc. mousse. Both very good. I recommend ordering off chalkboard. Service was outstanding."

"My fiance and celebrated her birthday with dinner. Upon arriving we were seated immediately as we had reservations. The hostess was very nice and equally was our waitress. The ambiance was relaxed and the lighting just right. We commented on the bar area as large with high ceilings which allowed a roomier feeling.
I ordered the shrimp as did my fiance (with grits). It was very tasty and fresh. The wine was great and the beer was cold and the location was intown so that made it special.
I highly recommend it!"

"Out of Baked Oysters "big run on them Friday night". Shrimp and Crab appetizer delivered luke warm...had to have it cooked to temp. Booth next to frequently accessed store room in bar restaurant seating. Servers, cooks and hostesses all closing the door in various velocities ranging from slammed to really slammed with no concern for diners. When mentioned to the server, he demonstrated to us the loudness factor of the door when closed properly "that's as quiet as it gets". It took a lot of restraint from getting up and showing him the "average" noise level we experienced. Check presented with the bottle of wine we ordered listed at 10% over posted price. After verifying the difference to our server Shane, he took off the overcharge."

"We are working our way through the menu and have not had a bad meal yet. The tuna special was to die for. We brought out of town friends and they loved it too. The service was marvelous, as always --thanks Mike! Having eaten here 5 times in 4 weeks it is pretty obvious we are hooked."

"Wow was the food outstanding! Hubby had she crab soup and I had lobster bisque. They came in large bowls and were superb! Then came a salad with a delicious lemon house dressing. All I could think about was I have to get this recipe! I forgot to ask though as our amberjack arrived with the most delicious rub on it served over potatoes and asparagus. It was the best fish I have ever eaten! Ever! Soooooo good!!!!!!"

"If you are seeking an upscale restaurant with delicious seafood in Canton, GA, this is THE PLACE! The atmosphere is rustic and homey and the service is great. The food is probably the best around this area so why drive in to Atlanta when you have this restaurant gem right in Canton? 5 stars plus!"

"Great seafood in Canton. Great menu of apps & sustainable fish. Our table started with oysters & the shrimp cocktail & The perfect martini. The apps were good & Martini's ok. The service slowed down after that. The fish was cooked perfectly. We had halibut & red grouper. The steak was served cold & tough in some areas, but it is a seafood place. The jalapeño cheese grits definitely have a kick. One comment is the wait staff needed more help. It seemed like no management running the front as the place filled up. Would like to try again, because the menu is great & atmosphere is fun!"

"We had a reservation and our friendswere already seated. The waitess came up and told us that we had to move that someone else had reserved us that table, they moved us. the manager came by and said he would comp. oysters. We got the bill- the oysters were on the bill and something else- they took it off. Them moving us and the bill situation- made the situation worse."

"Great food! Lots of people, bustling around. Wonderful atmosphere of a neighborhood bar and grille with the food of a five star fish eatery in a major metro area. I had the coastal style halibut which was amazing. My dinner companion has miso wahoo, another good one but I would not recommend it for those like me who prefer saltier savory dishes, but that was just the miso flavor as it is supposed to be. I am not a fan. Oysters were amazing we had Rockefeller. We will have the mussels when we go back! Which will definitely be soon."
