A mature and relaxing destination that offers 600 varieties of whiskey, expertly crafted cocktails, live jazz/bluegrass and sumptuous food.
Our Executive Chef, Susan Burdian has created a menu that is the perfect accompaniment to our venue. The menu is designed to be shared amongst friends. Most items are served on wooden planks and in cast iron skillets. We recommend ordering several dishes for the table.
Live entertainment is performed on our stage every Monday through Saturday. Expect prohibition jazz, gypsy jazz or bluegrass. Always tasteful and at a volume that still allows easy conversation.
We are proud and passionate about the product and service we offer. Our greatest satisfaction comes with sharing our beautiful space with guests.
"The service was extremely slow. It took over 30 minutes to get the waiter's attention, and it was not even extremely busy. We stayed an hour longer than we intended because we were waiting for one menu item and the check for over an hour. The live music and the drinks are amazing though."

"If you want a table, it's best to make a reservation.Otherwise you can sit/stand at the bar. Flatiron Room has complimentry coat check which is nice. We didn't order food, but there were a few table eating. FlatIron is a great place date spot night or just to getther with friends and enjoy some jazz. It's not too loud so even if your up front you can still engage in conversation with your companion."

"I was incredibly impressed with the bartender. Actually seemed genuinely interested in us enjoying some of the crazy cocktails. Do wish they had a bit more of a wine selection, but I'll definitely be back."

"Came here for my fiance's birthday. Food was good but not outstanding. We didn't go for the food anyway. The ambiance is lovely. Perfect for us. We don't like places that are so loud you need to shout to have a conversation. I love the fact that they like their guests to be seated and comfortable rather than squished in and standing. I'd go back here for that reason alone. The Whisky lockers are so unique. Makes you feel like you have gone back in time. The jazz music at about 9pm was great, just our thing. I had a couple of Singapore slings which were nice. The prices top any other bar I've been to in NYC but worth it for a nice seat and great ambiance. I think this is now a joint favorite bar for us and I can't wait to go back."

"This place was great. I'm not a whiskey person but they have a great drink menu and the service is amazing. The place is dark and cozy and makes you feel like you just walked into a private club. Will definitely go back."

"went to hear singer Sarah Tracey and discovered a great whiskey-themed lounge. A little fancier than most bars, the clientele was predominantly male, and is a seating-only bar. The music was great (though I may be biased), and the waitress' knowledge of bourbons was very informative and fun. we did a Bourbon flight (six 1oz bourbons for about $40) and a few light fare snacks to help cleanse the palate and the bill for three of us was over $200. They also allow you to buy and store a bottle of your favorite bourbon and will pour from that on subsequent visits. In general, a little pricey, but a great atmosphere and experience."

"Wonderful whiskey bar with a beautiful setting. It is too bad that the service is terrible. Our party of 4 ladies waited 10 minutes to receive any attention from our waiter. He was too busy chatting with a fellow waiter. They were out of the signature barrel aged whiskey on a Saturday night also. They service continued to be lousy and unprofessional. We had to flag down another waiter to order another round of drinks. Everything else about our experience was excellent. Too bad they are not training their wait staff to treat the customers attentively!"

"I decided to surprise my boyfriend and picked this place out as part of our Valentine's Day date. I chose this place mainly for two reasons: they boasted themselves as having one of the largest whiskey/scotch menu in NYC,and because it seemed like a classy, intimate and exclusive spot. Both my boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised and pleased. Service was great for the most part (minus how long it took for them to finally just give us a bottle of water, after asking for refills multiple times.) We ordered the bone marrow, and it was scrumptious and warm. Above all, the drinks were fantastic and exceptionally made. It was a great way to end our date night--I highly recommend for any night out.
Side note: make reservations."

"CONSISTENTLY OUTSTANDING! I'm happy to say this place consistently impresses whoever I bring to it. Last night I brought some out-of town associates to The Flatiron Room. They loved it. The ambience is terrific ... it feels like you stepped into a bar from long ago. The people there are upscale but yet the vibe is very cool. Not snooty nor stodgy at all.
Last night we all ordered a tasting flight of whiskey, which was really fun. I recommend this because they have so many options of whiskey (600 they said) that this way you at least get to try a bunch at one time. The cocktails are good too - my favorite was Blood Oragne one.
We ordered a bunch of food and left very satisfied and full. The braised short ribs is my favorite dish."

"I first read about this place in The Wall Street Journal and then again in The Robb Report. I've been meaning to check it our purely for the extensive selection of whiskey. As luck would have it the firm I work at was buzzing about a new place. When I heard it was The Flatiron Room I rallied a group and we went down.
First: the whiskey selection was astounding. I'm a big American whiskey fan and I have to say I've never come across a selection this large. The waitstaff is incredibly knowledgable. My server rattled off history of the distilleries I choose. He told me about the mash bill and even brought out a piece of an old bourbon barrel to show how the whiskey penetrated the wood. The details were amazing.
I can't wait to go back."

"Flatiron Room was great. The drinks were really lovely, the plate of cheese and charcuterie was also great. Very nice selection. I was just surprised by how slow the service was. When we got our food a few people had already finished their first drink and it took at least another 20 minutes before they offered us a second round."

"It is a wonderful place for an intimate date or for a group of friends, colleagues. Terrific live jazz music - not overpowering - just the right sound to be background. Conversations easy. Small plates - everything we had was delicious (mac-n-cheese with a hint of spice, mushroom flatbread, steak bites - all yummy). And if you like whiskey.....oh boy. Unparalleled selection. But if you don't - do not despair. The FIR has many other options. A very nice touch - the owner makes sure that the FIR does not get too crowded. You will not find yourself at a crowded bar pushing to get a bartender's attention. You'll have a place to stand or sit and be waited on. Definitely give the Flatiron Room a try!"
