The Troll Pub Under the Bridge
The Troll Pub opened on October 19th 2011, underneath the 2nd Street Bridge in a 135 year old space directly next to the YUM Center on historic Whiskey Row. The Troll Pub is a subterranean retreat that features a Gastro-pub style menu with a wide selection of great tasting food items, craft beer, local artwork, and an overall atmosphere unique to Louisville. We are just blocks from the Louisville Convention Center and only steps away from many of the hottest attractions and hotels situated downtown. Just look for the Troll on the corner of 2nd and Washington, he will show you the way.

"Mistake with our order. The server entered the wrong meal, so it took a while for 1 dish to arrive at the table. they did take it off the bill and were very accomodating. Mistakes happen, and they dealt with it well."

"We found Troll Pub after looking online for a reasonably priced Hot Brown which is a Louisville signature dish. The food was good, but both all members of our party tried the same thing. Nice beer list, nice decor, and attentive service. It was a busy night for our server, and our table got very messy. When we asked if he could take some of our dishes away, he let us know that he couldn't do it because he was so busy. He wasn't nice about it, and honestly, it's the thing that will decide if we will go there again. Maybe you won't have that experience?"

"There were 9 in our party and we were very impressed with everything to having our table ready when we arrived to the food and service. The quesadillas were to die for and the price during happy hour was an extra added bonus which at that time we could have an extra drink before our play. The vanilla mohitos were very good too. We will definitely be back and are looking forward to coming again soon. Thanks"

"The food was awesome and the ambiance was fun and inviting. The help staff had to take care of most of our needs because the waiter didn't seem to have it all together. He must have walked by our table 10 times while our drinks were empty but it was a great overall experience."

"We went here for a going away lunch for a coworker. If you're trying to get in and out for your lunch break go somewhere else! We were probably one of 5 tables (so the restaurant was empty) and it took about 45 minutes for our food to come. Our waitress never checked on us. One person in our group went over to the soda fountain to refill her own drink. Our group will not be going again and were appalled at how awful this experience was."

"I made reservations for 4-30-13 for 7 ppl for my dads birthday. Upon arriving half of our party was there we was seated and drink orders taken the others arrived and their drinks were taken and we ordered apps. The drinks and apps were brought in a timely manner our entree orders were taken and it was almost 1 1/2 hours before our food came. Two people's food was cold, two of the three steaks were over cooked. I believe the server we has was the only one there! If u have a downtown restaurant t and expect for it to stay afloat you need to make sure your service and food are worth it! Several times I have came in but was a two hour wait and I'm wondering now if that's because the service is slow."

"We made a reservation for 9 4 weeks before the event date and requested tables in the bar. When we arrived, on time, for our reservation, we were told that "our tables were being set up" and to go on back. The bartender looked at us like we were stupid and told us that the tables that were supposed to be ours "had someone sitting at them". There were two gentlemen sitting at a table, the ONLY table occupied. If the tables had been set up like we were told they would be, there would not have been a problem. We were left to figure out our own seating arrangements. What good is a reservation if you have to do the work yourself? Our server was great even though she was spread too thin. The reservation process needs to improve."

"There was a group of 11 of us during the UL basketball game. We had a great time and was treated well. Service was slow at times, but the place was packed, so it was expected. We were given the "bookshelf room" which was private and allowed plenty of room for our group. It also had 2 tv's which was perfect to watch the game.Very cool place and everyone in our group enjoyed the experience. We will definitely go back."

"initial table that was held for us was a ridiculous joke. it was too small for 2 kids to sit at, much less 2 adults. after speaking to manager, we were seated at a better table. but initial impression was total disappointment! hostess was not willing to help find another table, but manager was. so a let down of an evening."

"I took my staff here for lunch and the place was nearly empty but the hostess tried to cram us in a small space. We still got cold fries and there was an upcharge on substituting side dishes although they were all priced the same. Our server never smiled and acted like we were a bother to him. Although he included 18% gratuity to the tab the server kept everyone's coinage. With a party of 11 we spent well over 165.00 for the lunch and tip. I will not return."
