Gia-Drink.Eat.Listen.
The atmosphere at Gia is a 19th century modern dining room that leads to an outdoor balcony that overlooks New Garden Road. The vibrant space includes a drinking and eating bar high tables. On selected nights, live music will fill the air. The "Library", tucked away in the back of the restaurant, is ideal for private parties, celebrations, and any type of gathering you can imagine. We offer our guests a unique menu that includes a variety of small plates that are sautéed or baked in a wood fire oven. We call our dishes "small plates" because we want all of our guests to try multiple items and share them with each other. One of our signature menu items that we offer is called "Schiacciata," which is a Sicilian flatbread. Our drink menu consists of wide array of wines, craft beers, and our interpretation of vintage cocktails.

"We had read reviews of this place which were not so favorable but decided to try it anyway late one evening. We were quite surprised and fully enjoyed the experience! The food (small plates) was bursting with flavor - we had the Chef's special Mahi and wood-roasted cauliflower... both recommended by the waiter. If cauliflower had tasted like that when I was a kid, I would have eaten a whole lot more of it than I did!
The place was full yet still quiet enought to carry on a conversation - low lighting - good ambience - a couple of tv's over the bar area to check in on the sports scene - nice background music - loud enough to hear but not so loud you couldn't talk comfortably.
We will definitely return!"

"This was my third time at Gia and I've enjoyed all three. This was the first time I was there on a Saturday evening to hear the music. The food was great and the service was excellent. If you want to go for a quiet conversation -- this isn't the place. It was very loud (actually too loud) for a conversation. But if you want a fun, lively atmosphere -- you need to to Gia."

"This was the perfect place for our birthday celebration. We will recommend and we will be back. It is normally very hard to get a reservation, however this was a holiday weekend and we got one without a problem. I must say we did enjoy the fact that it was not crowded...which has been the case on our prior visits."

"I had heard good things about Gia so I decided to give it a shot for a special date. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere upscale. This is a well-kept secret restaurant. We had a very nice time, expect to return again soon with friends or with a business event. Our dinner was at 6pm and it was a little quiet for such a great restuarant and space. Looking forward to next time and a little later night."

"We took my 20 year old twins, and my mother there for their birthdays. Never having been there before, did not know what to expect. Not only was the food phenomenal, but it was fun too! The way they bring the "small plates" out at different times, allows you to taste a little bit of everything without feeling overstuffed on anything! Even my 5 year old loved it, and she is a very picky eater! I will definitely be going back.... a lot!!!!"

"The people working here take pride in their business: friendly, efficient, tidy. The food was good, but not excellent IMO: the standout dish we had was the crispy eggplant, and even then, the sauce that came with it was nondescript. The cocktail I had sounded more inventive than it tasted. However, the atmosphere is vibrant, the lighting is good, the service is on point, and the the scene is lively and congenial. I had a fun experience and would give it another go."

"I wouldn't rush to go back there. The noise was deafening, having to almost scream so my dinner partner, 2 feet away, could hear me. It was a huge relief to get back into the quiet outdoors. The food was ok, but nothing I would drive 20 miles to get. The service was slow, but pleasant. Overall, a mediocre to fair experience."

"We had a great time at Gia! We were there for a girls night and I asked for the library room bc it is a little quieter. It was already booked but the manager called me and said she would put my name on the list if it became avail. She was awesome and spent a lot of time telling me all of the options we could do for our group. It was very nice to have someone actually asking me questions about our wants for the girls night. I highly recommend!

"This was a girls' night out, and we really indulged and enjoyed our visit. Wait staff was knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive. We dined in the library which was extremely comfortable and pleasant. Don't think our experience would have been as enjoyable if we'd been seated at one of the tables in the main area - too noisy for conversation there, plus high uncomfortable tables. We enjoyed the food very much , would recommend it, and plan to return with our husbands!"

"We had five different dishes at Gia and all were very good. My steak was a little too done but still tasty. Drinks and wine are reasonably priced and the selection is good. Service is friendly but more training is needed. One server could not tell us what was in a dish that we sled about and another did not handle wine service properly. The space is noisy and the tables are high bar tables. Decor is attractive but the noise is distracting. We will give it a little while and try again."

"Visited GIA to celebrate my birthday with my father. Food was great, I would highly recommend the filet, swordfish, and the Honoro Vera (spanish red). The music was a little too loud for my liking. The meal was great but the only thing I would complain about was the service; our waiter took about 15 minutes to refill our glasses of wine; we stopped eating in the middle of our meal because we wanted to enjoy our food with wine. Prices were fit for a "special" night out."

"We went here because there was a Living Social deal. We never would have heard of it/went there otherwise. We had a fantastic dinner. The food was excellent and the live jazz was nice. All the food is served on small plates (Tapas). They recommend 3-4 plates a person, but we could have done it with 2 a person (with sharing). The only criticism I really had was that most of the seating is in elevated bar chairs (with a back). I went with my parents who are in their mid-sixties and my mother has difficulty with those types of seats. If you want a lowered seat, I'd request one when you make your reservations. It was pricey, but a wonderful experience. I'd recommend for a special occassion or if you want to impress a date."

"I thought Gia was good, but saying this is a tapas place is a stretch. The menu is more small plates, but good. I would like to see a more extended tapas list. A better variety would be good. Service was great and tables were a mix of high tops and club chairs. The filet was wonderful, but awkward. Tapas plates are generally a few bites but nothing you need to "cut." The vegetables accompanying the meat was really garnishes -- not "side" veggies. But it was very good. I will go back."

"Fun night out with friends. Loved the atmosphere. Menu was well executed. We had a 7 PM reservation and were not seated until 8PM. I would not recommend for a group of big eaters. For a group of 4 we shared 8-10 tapas plates and that added up to a very light meal. (None of us have unusually large appetites). I would go again, but late night or "meet for a drink" occasion. Will unlikely return just for dinner."
