"It's been awhile since we've gone to this restaurant so we decided to give it a try since I have lots of friends that tend to go there for happy hours. Maybe that's the key - if you plan on taking advantage of the bar area, you'll be happy. You have a 50/50 chance of good food and service if you choose the dining area. That's what happened to us. The waiter was very energetic and was happy to help us, but two of the adult orders (out of 4) came out wrong. What was most disconcerting about this, was one person ordered a meal and another person said "I'll have the same thing that he's having, just change the cheese from pepperjack to goat cheese". The goat cheese part was the only thing that came out right. To top it off, the food was cold."

"We have eaten here quite a few times since the V first opened. Food and service have been good although prices are on the high side for their offerings. Business seems to be booming so the downside is that Saturday evening reservations are harder to get and the place is crowded and NOISY. The new outdoor seating is also very popular and less noisy but subject to coming hot humid DC weather. Microbrew is not in operation yet. Our preference for quieter ambience may soon take us elsewhere."

"My husband and I went here on a Saturday looking for a new/different place to eat than our standard hotspots. As others have noted, this place is definitely odd being located in a strip mall. Once inside at our booth, I felt like I could have been in Arlington or DC. Our waiter was hilarious and fun for the night. This place has a swanky feel, but when we left around 9pm I was surprised the restaurant was virtually empty. There were many people still outside however.
I had the butternut squash risotto with shrimp, and my husband had the New York Strip Steak. Both entrees were delicious - not the best but certainly very good food. We also had the calamari as an appetizer, which also was rather good. I would go back again with friends."

"I had driven by "the V" many times, my curiosity finally got the better of me on Saturday. I was impressed with the restaurant and overall experience. I was drawn in by the patio which is spacious and plush with club lounge chairs, very comfortable. The inside was contemporary and crisp with intimate private tables, making the inside as warm and comfortable as the patio. Starting with cocktails and tuna nachos which were fantastic; I selected roasted chicken, my date the Savanna shrimp; beautiful presentation, wonderfully bold flavors on the shrimp, and moist juicy chicken, I loved the roasted baby spring green beans that came with the chicken, awesome. Our server was attentive, engaging and efficient without hovering. I will return often"

In the heart of soccer-mom-central is this odd one out restaurant. A different location would help this restaurant. Wait staff that act professional (they can be trained) would go a long way.
Oh and take down the girls night out poster that looks fitting for a strip club - it's the first thing you see walking through the door. Tacky!"

"Finally!!! Something survived in this corner of the restaurant park! And it couldn't have happened to a nicer restaurant. I say The V is well-rounded because it really is a nice, all occasion restaurant. I see people coming here for the bar, Girl's Nights, family dinner, dinner for two, etc. Love that they sell local beer from Lost Rhino. LOVE--LOVE--LOVE the pretzel with dipping sauces and the California Cobb. That's my go-to meal. Great service too!"

"Went to the V on a date and it was a great choice! They were very busy on a Friday night, but luckily I had made a reservation on Open Table and they seated us immediately. The meal service was very good, by a lovely server who was a tad stressed due to the packed house, but performed flawlessly and provided excellent recommendations on wine and beer. The menu is a slightly upscale American fare, but actually very reasonably priced for Northern Virginia and Loudoun County. Food was phenomenal - try the ahi tuna salad or steak and cheese for an excellent take on some classics. To add to the ambiance, on Fridays there was a local band that provided some great background music that did not overpower conversation."

"The hostess tried to put us at an entry table, we requested another table, more private but she was very rude to us. She walked away while we were still talking to her. Since this was our first visit we were unsure of what the couches/lounge areas were for (just waiting or actual seating?) she was unwilling to work with us and seemed very bothered that we wouldn't just sit. A member of our group went outside to find seating and was then helped by the owner's daughter who was the only one interested in helping us. Once sat, our waiter was scattered. At one point it took 15 min to get 2 more beers added and his reply was "bar is busy, sorry." We had cracked and broken water glasses that were left on the table. Overall big disappointment."

"Attempts made to contact the manager, write him a note, talk to him, and also talk to the parent company. No one responded. Arriving at 10AM, we checked in with the host. Others arrived after us, were seated. I approached the host and said that our entire party had been present and waiting. He then POINTED to a half booth near the entrance and said "your table is over there". He made no attempt to seat us. We sat ourselves. It took almost 50 minutes to get our meal. Our food was cold. I would also like to point out that between 10:00-12:00noon, the restaurant was less than 50% filled to capacity. CONS: the host could not seat our party of 5, waited over 45 minutes for food, and no manager around. Server was great"

"I always enjoy my food, experience and ambiance at the V. There isn't a place like it on the opposite end of Leesburg. The food is unbeatable... I mean come on, where else can you get a beer and cheese soup that taste like a soup not a dip. Yummy. There tuna nachos are spectacular. every time i go I'd like to try new items but the former ones are just too darn good to separate from. The menu is pretty much the same prices everywhere- but more flavor for your buck. Its nice that they switch it up every now and then, although I'd like to see more concrete seafood staples on their menu. Great special deals. GREAT PLACE!"

"After visiting a local business, on the way to the airport, I decided to check this place out as the yelp reviews were pretty good. I ordered a steak, medium rare, with grilled vegetables and a loaded baked potato. The steak was cooked very well but had no flavor and was covered in a sauce that I didn't see listed in the description. The vegetables were fine but the loaded baked potato was undercooked. My friend got the pulled pork, which was dry, and the cole slaw was unpleasant. As well, they had a live band playing in the bar area that was butchering beloved songs. Overall, the look was very nice but sadly, nothing else lived up to our expectations. Our waitress was rather nice though."

"The ambiance was nice, but the service left a lot to be desired. Our food finally came but they forgot one of our appetizers which never came and we weren't charged for it. The mussels were good and the bread was tasty but the NY strip I ordered was not seasoned at all.
The place was packed since they had the final four on the big screen projector and in the bar so I can understand why they were backed up. I would give this place another chance when they fix the service issue and the food."

"We went there for lunch on Easter Sunday. We were seated away from everyone in a corner. When we placed the order it took 1 hr for the food to get to the table. We asked for bread for the table and the waiter stated that he thought they ran out already. It was only 1230 in the afternoon! Unfortunately all the food was cold. So we had to decide if we were going to send it back or eat it. So we ate it. We will never go there again. I'm sure they will close."

"First visit to The V. We were there on Easter Sunday, the first day serving Brunch. They started with only a few entrees and then will add more. I am looking forward to going back and trying more brunch entrees as well as dinner entrees. They have a Great Beer and Wine selection which includes a few local Loundoun County wines. They have a lot of great events planned. They have a center area where they will also lower a TV screen for different events. This resturant was recommended to me by a friend and a client and I am glad that we decided to give it a try. The only drawback is the location in some way as it is hard to get out of it and during rush hour, traffic from Route 28 to The V is Bad!"

"I took clients for lunch. Service was good, though we did have to wait a little longer than expected for the check. Plates are interesting rectangles, and coffee mugs are oddly shaped (though no spillage). My guests each had the Beer Battered Cod & Chips; I had the Oak Barrel Steak Salad. They enjoyed theirs, and the steak on my salad was done to a turn (I asked for medium-rare, and that's exactly what I got). The rest of my salad was good, though it could have used something else to add some texture to the large portion of greens. My guests had beer, and were quite satisfied with the selection. I had coffee, which was rich and full-bodied, with no bitterness (A+ on the blend).
Overall, I'd recommend it."

"The food was quite good and arrived quickly. However, the service was still catching up to the restaurant's popularity--our presumably inexperienced server was slow with drinks, did not tell us about specials until we asked, and brought us the bill without asking if we wanted dessert. That said, the server was nice and did give honest opinions on dishes when asked. It wasn't anything that would keep me from going back, and I think the service will improve as the staff gains experience. Decent beer and wine list. The salmon was the best I've had at a restaurant in quite a while."

"We had great service from our attentive and knowledgeable waiter. Our table ordered a bottle of wine (it was 1/2 price night for certain wine bottles) and the manager came over and opened and poured our wine for us. "This was the second time my wife and I visited The V Restaurant and Brewery. We visited in late December soon after the soft opening. They have gotten into a good rhythm from the initial greeting, seating and drink orders taken. Looking at the busy and enthusiastic Friday night crowd, the restaurant's word-of-mouth is catching on.
I had an excellent jambalaya while my wife enjoyed her butternut squash risotto with shrimp. The service was attentive, yet not imposing . We'll be back to sample the other items on the menu as well as the beer."

"This was our first visit - dinner on Saturday at 8:30pm. We like the idea of a neighborhood brewhouse/restaurant with live music and were excited to try it out. The service was good, everyone was pleasant, attentive. The acoustics were pretty bad - it was so loud that we had to lean toward each other to talk. This was not pub energy loud, but just poor noise dampening. The sandwich [Twisted Turkey] was outstanding as was the house salad/house dressing. The salmon risotto was not great - the salmon was either tough or overcooked which was disappointing. However, we were looking forward to the music which turned out to be in the tiny bar area only though there would be ample space in the restaurant area. May try again in the summer."

"Our table sampled 6 beers, and loved the variety! We also ate several appetizers and 2 entrees; the Blackened Ahi Nachos were OUTSTANDING!!! I recommend V focus on more nachos, and less greens, especially if a table is sharing! Also, get the 50/50 sliders!!!! The addition of bacon makes these sliders truly delectable; you will never want to go back to regular burger meat!!! We were very satisfied and full!! Very happy with our experience and will absolutely return!!! Great food, great beers, beautiful decor, clean restaurant, friendly, knowledgeable staff!"

"We were really dissappointed this valentines day. I'm not sure its worth going back to since we live in Leesburg and can find mediocre there and the service was abymismal. Our server was inattentive and spacey. We had to ask several time for more water and drinks repeatedly - somehow we didnt connect with our server and there was never any follow through or apologies. My husband had to track down the hostess to pay our bill!!"
