Chops Steak Seafood & Bar of Sacramento is an award-winning restaurant and bar. Locally owned, Chops specializes in classic Midwestern, corn fed, dry aged beef and the freshest seafood. "We ate there for my husbands birthday. We had another couple with us. We were seated in a booth. It's difficult to visit with the people seated at the ends of the booth due to the distance and the noise level in the restaurant. My husband had the pork chop and house salad, which he said both were excellent. The other 3 of us had salmon. I've had different salmon dishes here before and the salmon is always nicely cooked. They gave my husband a complimentary dessert of his choice from the dessert menu. We all enjoyed our meals. We will return in the future."

"We decided on Sunday Bruch at the last minute and opted to try Chops-Folsom, a relatively new restaurant. Menu contained items to meet any diner's needs and the wait staff offered us the option of also choosing from the lunch menu.
We opted for Brunch--I had the Benedict made with salmon. The Hollandaise was spruced up with a dash of dill, which, in my opinion, kind of really made the dish perfect. Hubby chose the more traditional Benedict and also cleared his plate.
We reviewed both the lunch and dinner menus and know we'll be back.
I also found a new site for a regular gals' lunch group I belong to!"

"The restaurant was nice and our waitstaff [Josh] was very nice, attentive and provided excellent service. The food was served timely but the presentation was lacking and good but wasn't anything special. My daughter had the breakfast burrito that was poorly presented and a little dry. My husband and I are 'benedict' fans and we both had one of the dishes [classical and smoked]. The dishes were okay, nothing special -- the potatoes were very tasty. Probably won't go back."

"After receiving an email from Chops advertising a Mothers Day Brunch buffet I called to make a reservation for my whole family. I was told they were completely booked downtown but maybe Folsom had room. I called Folsom and the person on the phone was quite accomodating fittin in our party of nine. We got to the restauraunt and they had our seating arranged and ready to go. To our surprise the Folsom location did not have the brunch buffet just their off the menu choices, none of which were kid friendly, our waiter was arrogant and not very helpful and the total experience was less than stellar. Parts of our meals was served cold and the menu selection did not have 9 year olds in mind. I felt won't recommend for brunch on Mothers Day again."

"Overall - great place to go. My only complaint is that the rib-eye I ordered was smothered in some kind of sauce that really took away from the natural flavor of the steak. Was a little disappointed by that. Next time we go there, I will ask for the rib-eye without the sauce. The steak itself was a top quality cut and perfectly cooked to medium as I had requested."

"Went here for date night before walking 50 feet to catch a movie. Fantastic food, fantastic service, period! Upscale and pricey for that romantic meal but they offer great pub food as well. We went romantic and pricey but were not let down in any part of the meal. It was worth every penny! Perfectly prepared, great sides, wonderful flavor. Press ration and service were some of the best I've had.
Can not recommend this place enough for a drink at the bar, a light meal or appetizer, or for a full on romantic dinner."

"We were late for our reservation, but it was honored anyway. We mentioned that we had a show to attend to the host and he informed our server. Service was friendly, but slow. I asked for my steak salad to be served without the blue cheese crumbles and blue cheese dressing. It arrived with the dressing I requested on the side, but blue cheese crumbles lurked in the salad. I really hate blue cheese, so this ruined what was otherwise a very tasty salad. My sweetie had the burger and it was cooked to his specifications. Service was a bit slow considering that we mentioned we had a slow, which was disappointing since we'd mentioned we had a show to attend."

"We decided to order off the new brunch menu. The bacon & eggs were as good as you would expect from any breakfast restaurant. Although the filing mixture in the breakfast burito was great, the tortilla was dry and hard to cut. The best part of the order was the bisquits & gravy, but they could have added a bit more gravy. If there is a next time, we will try the lunch or dinner menu."

"I've been to Chops 4 times now. The service is always excellent. The food is also very good. I like to eat out a lot, and unfortunately, my budget only allows me to occassionally visit Chops. I've had the Lamb, Thursday Night Prime Rib, Pork Chop, and the Salmon Oscar. I've had some of my wife's King Crab and I have enjoyed everything. Not sure what I will try next, but I do look forward to the next time I decide to splurge on dining out."

"Food was EXCELLENT, but they were swamped (night before Valentine's Day) so there was some waiting. The manager was very apologetic and the drinks in the bar were tasty while we waited, so we were OK with it. The open floor plan leads to more overall noise, but it was definitely an enjoyable evening. The ambiance is more intimate at the Chops in downtown Sac, but the food is identical as far as I could tell. We'll be back for sure, but the prices keep it from being a weekly destination for a household of moderate income. You certainly get what you pay for and the staff was friendly and attentive."

"Overall, we had a great experience! Our service was excellent... our waiter (Silas) was pleasant, helpful and attentive, as was the bus service. I tried the Steak & Lobster (it was the special). Excellent! The Filet was prepared perfect to order, and very flavorful (I asked for it "Oscar" style), and the Lobster was moist and succulent (though a little on the cold side). We ordered the Ahi Poki for an appetizer, which was also excellent (even my non-fish-eating friend tried it and thought it was great)! We all shared some sort of molten (warm) chocolate dessert topped with vanilla ice cream that the girls went crazy over. The evening turned out to be a little pricey ($120+/couple) but what you'd expect for great food and service."

"Celebrated Valentines a few days early. Lovely ambiance, excellent service, and my salmon and our shared salad were perfect. Also loved the side of carmelized carrots, yum!! I'd have given the food and overall a full five stars versus four, except hubby's lamb chops weren't quite up to par (hardly any meat, mostly fat). That aside, I'd highly recommend this restaurant."

"My husband and I have dined at Chops before and received outstanding service. We love the Ribeye and keep going back to it. We wanted to treat our daugher's to a nice dinner but weren't sure how kid friendly it would be. Randy our server was absolutely terrific with our girls and made our dinner extra special. He had a great sense of humor and made sure or meals were exactly what we wanted. I was surprised there was even a kids menu! We didn't feel rushed and just had an amazing time. I would recommend Chops to anyone looking for outstanding food and service in a very beautiful atmosphere."
