"While the outside dining was cute and cozy at 70 degrees, it was hardly worth the inflated prices they flaunt on the menu.
Pretentious is the only word that comes to mind when describing the ravioli - each one inch square piece was literally four dollars! The few sips of our cocktails were wonderful, for all there was of them. The kale salad was more accurately a kale taster.
The portions of everything were silly indeed, especially for the prices.
Supporting local agriculture is vital to a community and applauded, but it reeks of trendy motives here at The Farm Cafe.
We will not be going back; however, if money is no issue to you or the person treating you, the quality here is quite good. Enjoy. Or not."

"We went for my first Mother's Day celebration, so we made reservations. The table was already set up for us including the high chair for the baby. We had the lamb (which was braised lamb shoulder that day), the veggie burger (as seen on Food Network), the asparagus ravioli, and the duck confit as an appetizer. The entrees were amazing, we all loved it! The duck confit was just okay. I've not had duck confit at other places so it might have been exceptional comparatively, I have no way of knowing. My 10 mo old baby loved the duck. It was the perfect texture for him to easily eat it without teeth. So overall we thought it was a win! Would definitely go again."

"Really happy with the menu options and presentations. Asparagus fritter special was great. Clam appetizer was really good. Our entrees very good. Salmon and trout delicious. "Food was wonderful NW cuisine, trout and nettle ravioli were exceptional! The restaurant was pretty busy, surprising for a Wednesday evening, and although we had reservations were not sure we would be seated on time. We were seated immediately and although there was a lot of activity including a large group in one of the rooms somehow the acoustics and locations of tables allowed us to easily converse and hear each other in spite of the many other patrons. Wine list was good, dessert was awesome! they have a large outdoor seating area which we plan to visit when it becomes warmer. Overall a great experience will definitely return!"

"I'll just state the facts, and not judge. The waitress was not familiar with the menu.They told us the soda water gun was shooting out brown water.The brie appetizer was ok.The gnocchi was boring, and I didn't finish it.The leek soup was bland.The salad was also bland.The mussels were good.This was the second time I've eaten here.The first time was also mediocre at best, but I thought I got an off night.I will not go back or recommend.Scale of 1 to 10? 4."

"I had one of the best restaraunt experiences I've had in a long time. I went with a group of girls for a birthday dinner and we all loved the food. Between us all, we had the gnocchi, the veggie burger, the trout, & the rabbit stew...I tried bites of them all and they were all superb. Also tried the spicy hazelnuts and pickle plate...delicious as well. The atmosphere was nice and they accomodated us well, despite their kind of smaller dining area (which makes it intimate if you were just going on a date). And above all, I want to rave about the service...that is what made our experience so great. The service was above outstanding...which is refreshing these days. I would highly recommend!"

"The Farm Cafe has been on my list of restaurants to go to for quite some time, and I have to say it was worth the wait! Loved the casual but classy atmosphere and the fact that we got to sit outside on the patio. Interesting cocktail menu and a diverse wine list - got to love that! As for the food, I had to try the veggie burger and was not disappointed. So wonderfully delicious and the fries were some of the best I've ever had! My husband had the lamb special and was pleased with his meal as well. This will definitely be a new place to put on our dining out rotation!"

"Wonderful fresh food at reasonable prices. We sat outside on a perfect 70 degree day. I had the lamb chops , which were cooked ( grilled to perfection) and kale salad. My husband had the lamb sausage cabbage roll - all freshly cooked ingredients made it one of the best cabbage rolls ever. Relaxed atmosphere but could also be a great date night out - that's what we did."

"The brie appetizer was absolutely delicious, although my girlfriend and I were both very unsatisfied with our main courses. She got the ravioli and I got the Gnocchi, both of which we found to be sour and lacking flavor. So overall, our dinner started off lovely but by the end I was greatly disappointed. Our anniversary dinner could have been much better elsewhere."

"There are too many wonderful restaurants in Portland to settle for just "fair." Two of us had the trout, one had the paella, and one had the ravioli. Not rave worthy; of the three entrees, the paella was the least satisfactory. The trout and ravioli were okay, not great. It was a Thursday night and the restaurant was busy. They would not seat the first two of our party who arrived until all four of us were there; this may be a more common practice than I realized, but it sets a bit of a negative tone to the start of the dining experience. The appetizers came relatively quickly, the entrees followed about an hour later, the trout was then presented first and there was a slight wait for the other two entrees. Disappointing."

"The Farm Cafe menu offers a variety of excellent vegetable dishes. I have been to The Farm Cafe 4 times in the two years I've lived in Portland and each time, enjoyed everything I've ordered. The food service has, in my experience, been quite fast. The venue is fine for a group of 4 or 5 or smaller. It's good for intimate conversation. The bar and outdoor eating area in the back is beautiful. The atmostphere is cozy. The service is fine. They tend to you kindly and appropriately."

"The food was great but a little expensive. There were three of us and two of the three dishes seemed like good portions, but I ordered paella. It was more like jambalaya than paella but it was delicious but the portion was way to small for the cost. I was not full and I am only a 5 foot five male and only slightly overweight. Also, I think that the restaurant should serve fresh rolls or bread with olive oil. Most restaurants in this price range do this. At this price, I would only eat here on special occasions - this was our wedding anniversary.

"This was a great find! We're new to Portland and were pleased by how the Farm Cafe sources its food locally and had good flavors and unique plates. "The Farm never disappoints me when I go. The food is of high quality, which is reflected in the taste and thoughtful presentation. Being in an old Victorian house makes for an endearing and comfortable space. More than once, I have envisioned living there! The house is that fantastic. Because it is a house, space is limited but making reservations is so easy. The limited space makes for a more attentive wait staff, as well.
Recommended to everyone that wants good food and can trust comes from a good place."

My wife and I live in los angeles, but always make it a point to dine at Farm Cafe as it is a full culinary experience which we can never get enough of. "I visited the Farm Cafe on a "date night" with my husband, and we can't wait to return. The food was simply amazing. The restaurant reminded us of an old house so the lay-out was cozy and unique. They had little candles on the tables, and it was romantic. I would recommend making a reservation if you are going on the weekend, and it appeared to be quite full."

"I took my fiancee here for dinner on a Friday night. Despite the fact that they were quite busy, every aspect of our meal arrived within a reasonable time of us having ordered it. We ordered a basic meal of an appetizer, two entrees and some house wine and every item was delightful! As an appetizer we ordered broccoli fritters. Fritters can be a heavy part of a meal but these came round and crisp on the outside and almost souffle-like on the inside! Exquisit. The entrees were wild mushroom gnocchi and pecan stuffed ravioli. Tender delicious and with a well balanced, rich flavor. We left totally satisfied with our meal that came out at $50 before tip."

"I came with my sister, brother-in-law, and a best friend from college who was visiting from Denver, CO. We enjoyed the food tremendously! I teared up slightly (literally) when I took a bite of the Trout dish and I needed a moment to regroup before I could answer my brother-in-law's question "How is your trout?." Haha. Incredible, best food ever - so fresh and favorful! Colorado has the Rockie Mountains, but Portland has the incredible food. We'll be back! Thank you for all the thought and dilligence you put in your cooking - it is so evident! :-)"

"Love the warm atmosphere. It feels special without being too fussy. The salads are superb and all four of us had the trout with root vegetable entree, which we enjoyed, though it was a bit heavy on the salt. Wine selection was perfect with a wide range of quality and prices to choose from."

"I took my wife here the for dinner (the day before Valentine's Day). Although some of the reviews were lacking in enthusiasm, the menu looked intriguing. From the waitstaff to the food, our experience was fantastic. I will definitely recommend the Farm Cafe to everyone I meet that is looking for a great meal in a warm and inviting atmosphere."

"This is the first time we dined at the Farm Cafe and did not know they had a bar; there was a sign by the front door re applying for a liquor license. It was not until the end of the meal that we walked in the back and saw the bar. Since we were early it would have been nice to know about the bar. The service was slow but acceptable. There did seem to be a lot of people and only a couple of servers. The main dish, the pecan raviolis, were, by far, the best entree I have had in years. That alone will bring me back again and again."

"my daughter is vegetarian and i am not -- and both of us love good food. we wanted a special dinner at a place that celebrated the deliciousness of local vegetable and animal foods -- and we found that place at the Farm Cafe!
