Mariposa is a fine dining lunch restaurant. We are open 7 days a week and feature a fresh contemporary American Cuisine. We have a beautiful dining room as well as an outdoor patio. A bar counter is also available for dining, which allows our customers to dine and view the passers by as they shop. We have full bar service and are known for our cocktails. Our specialty are the famous popovers with strawberry butter.

"My ebtree was great...the salad trio (I ordered all chicken salad). I didn't care for the soup of the day (sweet corn and leek). My daughter enjoyed her sliders. Our waiter was friendly, but slow. The other staff members were very attentive!"

"This was our first time at Miraposa and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The amuse bouche was whimsical and a great palate enticer. Their bread is Yorkshire Pudding, which was unique and tasty. We will certainly think of this restaurant more often when shopping at Fashion Island, or if we're just in the area."

"They changed the menu again and items that you were used to ordering have the same name, but when they are brought to your table they are very different from what you are used to getting. Food service took FOREVER the last two times I was there, and the hostess had a real attitude. Just not my favorite place for lunch anymore."

"This is a great place to take a client our to or perhaps for a special occasion with foodies in the group. Pros: interesting dishes, fun amenities (popovers and strawberry butter, etc.), and not totally overpriced for some of their dishes. Cons: the wait service was not enthusiastic, and the food, while very good and the dishes well thought-out, had no love in it for me--It was missing that intangible."

"The ambiance is very nice. They provided a wonderful puff with strawberry butter to start and a little cup of consume that was delicious. It looked like there were people celebrating special occasions and enjoying themselves.
I ordered a salad described on the menu with fresh grapefruit as one of the ingredients. It came out with mandarine orange slices from a can. For the price, I expected better. I don't like to complain to restaurant kitchen or I would have sent it back.
If you care about that kind of thing, ask a lot of questions before actually ordering."

"It wasn't quite as busy as normal but the Pop Over w. the raspberry butter and the chicken broth is still the BEST in town. Service was good and the famous Chocolate chip cookie can't be beat at the end of the meal. However, I was a bit disappointed w. my seafood salad. It smells a bit fishy ( overly a bit) even with tons of pepper that I poured on it, it doesn't tasted as good as it used to be."

"Food very good. Service adequate ... I had to wait and unacceptable time for extra dressing for my salad and another popover ... salad and dressing was very good. Although I do not like my salad saturated with dressing, the dressing on the salad was not adequate ... upon tossing and tossing, much of the salad was without dressing. I arrived before my guest and told the hostess to bring my guest to the table ... I described her and gave her my guest's name ... after waiting approximately 20 minutes, I approached the hostesses desk and found that my guest had been waiting for me ... the hostess never told her that I had been seated. Upon speaking to the hostess, she apologized and said she was 'busy.' Unacceptable!!"

"On a Sunday lunch time they were out of bread! Their bread was the main reason we went there...it's usually tasty and warm. The waiter took our order after 25 minutes. One of the plates came 15 min before the other two. The food was ok but nothing special for the price."

"I have been going to the restaurant for many years, usually taking female clients. The food is just OK, nothing great, except for the Yorkshire puddings in the beginning. They are always a hit. However, it is a safe and pleasant environment within Neiman Marcus so in that way is attractive to me , a female, taking a female client there for lunch. It would be nice if they could "kick up" the menu a bit with some really interesting flavors.

"Pros: The bread with the strawberry butter was fantastic! The shot of chicken broth was a nice treat. The server was exceptional.
Cons: My chicken paillard was a disaster! The chicken was basically very bland, overcooked and hardly warm. It had a jerky-like quality to it. The outside of the chicken was hard and chewy, while the inside was dry. The menu indicated that the dish came with risotto, but as a risotto lover, I was very shocked to find that the so called "risotto" was some sort of bland tasting arborio rice pilaf, with no parmasean, no chicken broth, just plain yuk! The best thing on the plate were the mandarin oranges.
I would rather eat somewhere else next time."

"My friend and I went for the Newport Beach Restaurant Week $20 prix fixe meal. They brought a little mushroom consomme and giant popover immediately. They kept our water and iced tea filled. I was very surprised and pleased that they were willing to split the $20 wine flight between the two of us. My butternut squash ravioli in brown butter was wonderful, as were the Kobe sliders. The french fries had that lovely cooked-in-lard depth. The dessert was a tasty chocolate tart with cinnamon ice cream. The ice cream was somewhat crystallized, and the "pecan praline" was crumbs drawn on the plate. It is a loud space; my friend had trouble hearing me."
