"As a rule of thumb any restaurant in the UK which struggles to present its customers with a half decent sunday lunch should hang their heads in shame,this however will never be an issue with Pan Haggerty,as our lunch was simply superb! From the homemade bread,to the medium rare beef,and perfect yorkshire puddings,everything was divine."

"A lovely restaurant if a little dark whilst trying to read the menu! Overall a nice ambience and the food was very good. A nice touch for the cheeseboard as that all the cheeses were British but let down by the chutney which was "woody". Overall a good experience."

"It was a rare 'push the boat out' occasion for two. Yes, pricey at over £100 from the a la carte menu, but the meal was well cooked and beautifully presented. Our plates were returned empty! Staff attentive but not intrusive. We left happy and feeling money well spent."

"Fantastic restaurant. We had heard previous good reviews so thought we would give it a try and we are very pleased we did. It was easy to book, lovely gtreeting when we arrived and lovely staff who couldn't do enough for you. The food is the best food me and my husband have ever ate. We will most certainly return to pan haggertys."

When we visit my 84 year old Aunty Betty (about every 6 weeks or so) we always have lunch at Pan Haggerty. It's consistently superb! When we arrive the staff each time, appears to remember us and frequently we’re seated at the same table which Aunty Betty now refers to as our ‘usual’ table. She likes that.
The wine list was good and the wine chosen by my husband was superb. Aunty Betty particularly likes the big wine glasses!
Aunty Betty loves the choice of food many being based on traditional dishes with the PH twist. Yesterday she had the Beer Battered fish and chips with fat cut chips, minted mushy peas and tartar sauce. She LOVED every morsel of"

"This is my 5th time to the restaurant and 2nd with my husband - an anniversary/mother's day treat.
It took us a while to choose between the many mouthwatering dishes on the menu and when the food came it was not a dissapointment - beautiful king scallops and Alnwick pigeon to start followed by a large, perfectly cooked steak and pork loin for mains. We were too full to fit in a dessert but the choice on the menu was tempting.
Always a wonderful meal with brilliant service - we never feel that the 10% added service charge is not deserved and we even left an additional tip as well.
Well done Pan Haggerty's - keep up the good work!"

"Pan Haggerty was my favourite restaurant in Newcastle in particular due to their signature dish which was a wonderfully moist portion of pan haggerty ( slices of potato and onion topped with cheese ) which was then graced by a poached duck egg, hollandaise sauce and a garenish of micro herbs. This time round the pan haggerty consisted of barely warm potato, which was al dente at the most, topped with a fried hens egg with a solid yolk.Sitting atop this was a piece of streaky bacon which was desribed as crisp and would be more truthfully described as biscuit. The service was excellent when I complained about the rubber egg it was immediately replaced but the dish was still unsatisfying. The item was without prompting removed from our bill."

"A good selection on the set price lunch menu, at a very good price, though we went a la carte as it was a special occasion.Had the Pan Haggerty starter and wiped my plate with the excellent foccacia style bread. My wife had pan fried scallops followed by monkfish and pronounced both as truly memorable especially the deep fried prawn and mix of white beans and chorizzo that accompanied the monkfish. My main of salmon with scallops and a mildly curried jus was down with equal relish."

"Having never visited Pan Haggerty before I will definitely be going back. The food was exceptional in quality and the lunch menu prices made it more than reasonable. The ordinary menu also looked good, although the prices made it more suitable for a special occasion. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed eating at Pan Haggerty and can't wait to go back."

"My husband Paul and myself had never been to Pan Haggerty before, it had been recommended to us. I made a reservation for Valentines Day for us, the manager even emailed me the menu as it wasnt up yet, very helpful. Staff were very welcoming on our arrival, the lighting and background music was just right. The food was outstandingly amazing, lots of choice and variety, my tastes bud were going "Cackers". Our bill came no fuss, i paid by debit card no fuss. I truely do not have one moan about Pan Haggerty, i will highly reccommend it to anyone......Cheryl 3 Paul"

"Excellent food based on North Eastern local produce. All 3 courses (Pan Haggarty, Chicken with Gnocchi, Pear tart) without fault. Service very polite. Price between the 2 of us (inc service) was £105 for 3 courses plus bottle of Rioja and D.Espresso.....for the quality that is great value.

"After having heard very good reports of the restaurant we were extremely disappointed with what we had. One had sea bass which was hardly visible on the plate. Two others had slow cooked pork which certainly did not correspond with its description and two had steaks (extra cost) which were quite good. Two had cheese for dessert and again it was hardly discernible. The others had rice pudding which was quite good. The whole experience was rather a sad one."

"This is a super restaurant, the decor is contemporary and welcoming and staff polite, attentive but not intrusive just the right level of attention. The food was well presented and cooked beautifully. The meals our group of four chose covered fish, game and beef as well as trying the Pan Haggerty and every dish was great, plates were cleaned (we all had a taste of each others and confirmed they were all really good).
We will definitely go back."

"We went as part of the Newcastle Restaurant Week. We had the menu 2 courses for £10. There were 6 of us and we all had different starters 5 of which were lovely but 1 which was a bit disappointing. The reason being it was very small and not very flavoursome. The crispy lamb was fab as was the Risotto starter but the Mackerel was not really worth serving. We all had the same main course which was Braised shin of beef. The beef was lovely and tender and the mash was flavoured nicely with horseradish. Only 2 of us had dessert. White Choc Creme Brulee and an Orange Mousse. Both which were delicious. The service was a little slow at times but overall I would definitely go back."
